We drew 1-1 with PREMIER LEAGUE WATFORD'S first team and that was with Delano Sam-Yorke playing up front.

Ideal start to our pre-season title winning season.

Was a pretty strong side too.. apart from Deeney and Cathcart.

How did we look?

You just drew with Woking, what does that suggest?

Well true not a great result but we might have played well and ben unlucky in terms of chances..

Anyway all about fitness at this stage.

Last pre season we lost to Brimscombe & Thrupp, shipped 5 at home to Plymouth and got thrashed at Cirencester. We then won our first 9 league games and finished head and shoulders above everyone bar Cheltenham.

Grimsby looked awesome in pre season, but limped home in a distant 4th below part time Braintree and level on points with part time Dover, and lucked their way through the play offs.

Pre season is irrelevant.

Just the 6-0 defeat for York against a strong Middlesbrough side. We actually didn't look all that terrible but there was a massive gulf in class.

I'm not worried unless we get thumped at Stalybridge on Saturday.

Haha Stoke did that to us last pre-season. Hughes brought basically his premier league starting lineup and they destroyed us. I'm actually glad we don't have any premier league teams coming this time, I don't think you can learn anything from them.

In other news we're currently away at a training camp in the East Midlands (Rutland) where we will play a behind closed doors friendly vs a Notts Forest XI.

Surely Rutland's too posh to be called East Midlands

Yesterday afternoon saw us collect the Prestigious tournament that everyone wants to win!

The Jimmy Hill and Geoff Harvey Vase.:ds:

We beat Corinthian casuals on Saturday (3-1) to progress to the final. No room for 'celebration' tho after the incident with the casuals play. Saw the Ambulances called and all paramedics of teams attending Pretty imminently (Pretty worrying times they were)

Then we beat Hampton and Richmond 4-2 in the Final yesterday held at Wembley.

All in all 2 decent performances from us in a highly competitive Pre Season tournament and I hold a bit of optimism about the season ahead.

As a by the way:

The new ground is taking shape but....

Was broken into and vandalised over the weekend. Hopefully can be sorted tho so I don't have to worry about getting to Maidenhead every home game...

Stockport take on Barrow this evening in our first home pre-season match of this errrrrrm pre-season!

Started on Saturday with a 3-0 win against Cheadle Heath Nomads (the club who's facilities we use to train), with goals from Courtney Meppen-Walter, Craig Carney (trialist) and Michael Clarke.

Looking forward to seeing the new look squad this evening and Barrow should certainly provide a stern test for the lads.

We're at Buxton this evening. Hoping for a decent turnout from Macc supporters, I'll certainly be there.

Away at Boston for us tonight.

Suspect we'll be doing the same as the last couple of friendlies with a stronger side against Reading on Saturday.

Make that 4-0, raises the question who is this Fenwick dude though? Don't remember an announcement of him signing so I'd guess he's an academy player but that's 2 he's got now

It looks like we're having our standard start of pre season hammering at the hands of a tiny team which leads to a mini meltdown on the Macc forum.

Currently Buxton 2-0 Macc.
