We are 5-1 up again at Lex at HT.

That's 13 goals so far this preseason.

I think that makes us champions.

I do hope this doesn't mean you are withdrawing last seasons generosity towards us when we meet in game two!

You off to Grantham on Friday?

I shall be going, not working tomorrow for once on a Friday. Been a while since I went to the Meres so am looking forward to the first match under the Cowleys. Not expecting much but intrigued to see who plays and what formations, wonder if any new players may also be signed to play a part, even on short term contracts too.

Granted both opponents have been pretty weak but what I've enjoyed (granted I didn't go tonight) is seeing that the squad Mills has got together seem to be pacey, good on the ball but also pretty big units by and large. As a common view seems to.be that we've signed a load of shite and are heading for mid-table I reckon we might surprise some people. White looks like the kind of player who will score a lot of goals in our league. And what's that for Rooney so far? 5 goals? Looks like he will revel in his role in that formation.

Not ideal that it's classed as a competitive game in terms of subs.

First game of pre-season you'd want to play everyone for 45 minutes but that won't be the case.

Evesham 4-0 FGR. Good run out for a mixture of first team/youth team and trialists.

Do Forest Green not want to win the league in pre-season then?

The thrashing by a strong Liverpool side commences tomorrow evening at Prenton Park. Also sad is the fact it'll be our biggest home gate of the season by far, 10,000 tickets sold and rising quickly. A lot of Tranmere fans are avoiding it because the ground will just be full of Kopites.

Not sure it can really be described as a sad fact. I'm made up a load people who don't even support Tranmere are going to increase this seasons budget by 10-20%!

Such a strange decision to cram 3 games in one week. Of course if Wales had lost against Belgium then this wouldn't have been the case, but I have no idea why we couldn't play the rescheduled game next week. Good for fitness though I guess..
Barry (who scored a cracker), Rooney and Nortey were most impressive tonight apparently.

We beat Grantham 5-1 in our first friendly in the Lincolnshire Cup. I don't think we played particularly well but you can't read too much into friendlies, it's all about fitness (horrible cliché after horrible cliché)...

Woodyard was our stand-out performer.

Don't know where you heard that, we played well, even with a much changed and semi weakened line up in the second half. It was only Grantham though so nothing to get carried away, though they did beat us a season or two ago I think!
