HT - Boston 0-3 Lincoln.

Margetts (9, 12, 45(pen)). 2 assists for Hawkridge, who seems to have started pre-season very well.

Margetts loves pre-season! Didn't he score like 5 in one game last pre season for Tranmere? I thought he was going to be one to look out for last season, didn't turn out that way though.

Stockport take on Barrow this evening in our first home pre-season match of this errrrrrm pre-season!

Started on Saturday with a 3-0 win against Cheadle Heath Nomads (the club who's facilities we use to train), with goals from Courtney Meppen-Walter, Craig Carney (trialist) and Michael Clarke.

Looking forward to seeing the new look squad this evening and Barrow should certainly provide a stern test for the lads.

Final score Stockport 0 Barrow 1 Ross Hannah scored

Sounded like we did alright, especially considering we were missing 4 or 5 players and another two got injured in the first half.

A goal in each half for Barnsley who looked very good tonight. Stefan Payne and Kayden Jackson on for them in the second half.
Marcus Williams played again for Guiseley, i hope he signs for us - quality.

Another game for us tonight against the plod that I was planning to attend but seriously couldnt be asked after my long day at work...and of course by sods law it seems like I've missed a good game.

We beat the Plod 5-2 with Dylan Kearney I believe scoring 2 and the others...well.... by other people (or were they?). Dylan has now scored 7 this Pre Season which is pretty impressive after 3 games.

Not sure what's been happening for us but whatever it is...keep it coming and flowing into the actual season.

So far this Pre Season

09/07/16
V Corinthian-Casuals (W) 3-1

10/07/16
V Hampton and Richmond (W) 4-2

12/07/16
V Metropolitan Police (W) 5-2

It's only Pre Season but these results are fantastic..good to see us getting goals something we've possibly lacked in in recent years.

Next game (s) on Saturday

Away v Flackwell Heath
and
Home v Didcot (In the cage at Beaconsfield Road)

6-1 win against Folkestone in the end. According to our forum Bayan Fenwick, who picked up a brace, is ex-Torquay.

We lost 2-0 to Buxton. Not too worried though. Oliver Norburn trialled for us who was at Guiseley last season and looked quite good. Kingsley James and Jack Mackreth both played well in the second half on their first appearances.

Shaymen won 4–0 at a FULL STRENGTH Mossley.

Two different sides either half bar cap'n Liam King. Second half was more a tutorial game for a few youth players, two of whom scored. Good fun game, plenty of that sweet ol' je ne tinpot quoi.

We beat Step 7 side Heswall last night 2-0 with a team made up of trialists and youth team players.

Full Wigan side tonight apparently.

Has Brad Abbott signed for you? Was on loan here at the end of the season, but didn't really look up to it.

Beat Saltash 5-1 last night. New signing Dan Sparkes got one for us. Tough test on Saturday against Plymouth now.

Yes, he is, and yes, he was merde for us. One of Cox's many 'astute' signings......

His first trial game last night, played 1st half, didn't stand out to be honest other than working hard closing down.

He played against Huddersfield last week in the second half but has not been on the pitch since. Our other injury prone gamble Olli Johnson went off injured after 20 minutes last night!

Just had a look on the Alty website - I didn't realise just how little he played last season - 3 (!) starts and 12 sub appearances in the league.

Won 2-0 (Powell & Bakare). Got a good feeling about this team, it seems vastly improved from last season with lots more power and pace. Rooney seems like an assist machine (both goals) and always seems to be finding his man with deliveries and the defence seems rock solid as most of us expected. Bigger tests to come, but things look good.

I wonder what sort of team the Forest XI were? I understand their first team is away on warm weather training?

Still, a win is a win. I'm also getting a good feeling from what I've seen and heard. Like the look of this team.

Reserves and youth team i'd imagine, as you say the first team is in Portugal.
I just feel Mills has put together a good blend of players this year, with what seems like some very promising youngsters (including our own) and some very experienced players who know this league inside out. A few more bodies wouldn't go amiss but it's not desperate I don't think, I'd rather Mills wait for someone he actually wants instead of just rushing and getting the first person in, after all, the window is open all season for loans.

I agree, I think we're good to start the season. We do need another striker option as a proprity IMO. Bailey Nicolls can't be expected to be amy thing more than on the fringes of the first team and he's the only real out and out striker in the squad apart from White.
