I wouldn't know for certain, but I think we're trying to discourage supporters from attending. Charging £15 for a seat when last year I think it was £10. It worked though - only 608 at Kingsmeadow on Tuesday.

At this rate, to generate more interest, they will probably reduce the leagues to two teams. This will result in a best of three against your local rival, if that fails to up attendances they will say that there is no demand for teams in lower leagues and employ some form of warped reasoning to introduce the B-teams anyway...which we know is the intended destination.
You FGR people learn the ways of the Football League fast.

It was another stamp. Indefensible and he's a very lucky boy that his 3 game ban is in this joke of a comp.

Johnson has said if it was deliberate he'll face a club fine, I can't see how it was anything but.

Getting a 3 match ban in this competition is hardly much of a deterrent, is it? Surprised more players aren't taking the opportunity to stick one on an irritating opposition player. Might as well.

Might be best you leave Liam Noble out of your next team in this competition then. That is if his medical circumstances resolve themselves.

And despite it being obvious that's where this is headed, some fans are still going to these games. All lower league clubs are going to get fucked over by the PL in the same way as with EPPP, and yet still some fans are happy to go along and clap.

The crowds haven't been low enough imo.

Don't say it too loud, you'll get slapped down on the official forum.

What did he do, mate?

Another stamp, and a wholly unnecessary one too as I don't see the FGR player doing anything to him. Just two players going in for the ball, but our Danny thought it a good idea to stamp on his stomach in full view of the ref.

Since I'm not following closely this joke of a competition, I wasn't aware that any match bans weren't carried over to league games, and now I'm thinking Wright did it on purpose to make sure he won't be available for selection next year. Perhaps he's boycotting too, just like the fans :pond:

Here, make up your own mind. At 1.32 min -

And to show how much I'm not caring about this cup, it's only now that I've realised that the U's are still in with a chance. I thought we were definitely out but I was wrong. A 2-0 win over the pish coupled with a Cobblers win over Southampton will see us through apparently FFS. Not that we're going to beat the scum 2 nil but one never knows.

That stamp was right under the refs nose and so blatant that maybe it was actually an intentional attempt to get sent off? Can't think of any other reason, surely Wright can't be thick enough to think he'd get away with that?

His son's middle name is 9 so he really could be that thick. Either way he is a f8cking w8nker.

Imho of course ;)

Frustrating that we don't know whether we are out yet. I think that we can win our last game 1-0 and yet if Argyle lose 2-1 we will lose out despite winning one and drawing one compared to Argyle winning none and drawing two.
The absurdities of this competition have no end..

So we will top the group if we beat AFC Wimbledon, having won one less match.

Wtf.

The thing is, if this were just about the things Liam Rosenior talks about, if this weren't a competition already established as part of the lower league calendar; and more importantly, if there had never been any suggestion in the past from the FL about B teams in the league then we'd probably just grumble a bit about being used as a training ground by the PL teams and about how they expect to be given a pat on the back for throwing some money they found down the back of the sofa our way but accept that the money was welcome.

Our displeasure is about the bigger picture.

Give me strength. Does he know the average home attendance of Barcelona B, for example?

I don't think the Premier League breaking away from the football league has worked well for the lower divisions. Can we revert back?

No of course we fucking can't.

I hope one day the checkatrade trophy will replace the football league so we dont have to play in that tinpot competition. I'd much rather watch the future stars* of chelsea than some crappy team with no history like notts country. If it doesnt work out we can always revert it back.

* "future stars" is a trademark of the FA and may not actually refer to the quality of players involved.

Momentum developing to see us get a higher attendance for our Youth Cup tie with them up the road than the Trophy match and to see if we can manage fewer U's fans at the Abbey than travelling scum on 7/11. Pity they can't be on the same night. C'mon Posh...

Not going to be popular, but we've apparently shifted close to 2,000 tickets for Tuesday's game against Everton with it being pay on the gate as well.

The high pre-game sales will be ST holders wanting to purchase their seat for the game.

Away to Notts County.

May as well let them have a famous win they can tell the children about as they obviously can't manage it in the league - they can have that glory, and we can bow out early.

I imagine cos they are playing us, Mansfield will once again be well up for this one, and we sadly won't :(

They should, as always win, obviously having not won the game before or a couple of games after to no name teams and then claim they just view it as any other game lol.

Although clearly not their annual 'Big Day Out' to the Big City for the league fixture, I still suspect over half the town will be in attendance in the away section.
