Those of you who have put Crawley in the bottom half or relegation positions may want to reconsider your thinking - with our two signings yesterday of Romain Vincelot and Filipe Morais shows our intent - with more to come in the coming days - squad will be much stronger this season having got rid of the dead wood HK inherited last season.

Yeah, I like Morais, but he's either not as good as you think, or we're better than you think.

I don't seriously think the free spending east midlanders will all get top 3 but I couldn't decide which one(s) will miss out.

So many people putting Oldham near the bottom. Easily one of the biggest clubs ever to play at this level, and not in financial trouble. They should piss this tinpot league. If not, something's badly wrong.

I've been supporting Oldham since 1976...
I've seen as follows
15 championsip seasons
3 premier seasons
21 league 1 seasons
Attendances differ from around 20,000, 15000, 6000 & now around 4500.
I for one don't see us any bigger or smaller than other teams....cant be arsed with that stuff.
We are we're we are because we've been crap and badly run for years.
We now have new owners so it's a new beginning for us.
Let's see what happens this season and then we can say who was tinpot or not.

I had us pencilled in for 11th but the league looks rather poor this season, so fuck it, we're going up.

Plenty of rumours flying about that we don't pay staff on a monthly basis.

Also rumours that our new owner threw 2 million quid at the team on foreign imports last season, of which 1 possibly 2 got decent game time and were average at best.

Imo the squad is lacking in so many areas and we look ridiculously unbalanced. Especially Up top.

Yes, We will probably be seen as a scalp by many on here because we are perennial league 1 but we ain't a coventry or a portsmouth.

A fee weeks ago I thought it could go either way but after seeing the summer through I'd be very surprised if we make top 7. Be top half at best and easily have it in us to struggle the way the club currently is behind the scenes

Lacking in so many areas?

Bunn & Rhodes seem to have settled things nicely so far. Hopefully we'll get a good couple of strikers in to complement Baxter and we should do alright.

Imo a striker or 2 away from a decent squad capable of challenging.

Aren’t we all?
Haha, very true. A lot depends on who we choose to be our main man up front. Presumably alongside Baxter, backed up by trialists O'Grady and/or Benteke. Heard rumours about Dan Agyei coming from Burnley, he's a tricky forward who did quite well in a bit-part role at Walsall last season. I'd like that.

I'm also intuiting that we're looking for a bidding war for Hamer. Bunn mentioned at a Meet The Manager thing that we enquired about a young Championship striker and got quoted £250k. If we manage to get anywhere near a million for young Hamer that could be a goer.

Elsewhere, I have a lot of faith in Edmundson to be a really good player at the back this season, he's 21 next month and ready to be first choice, as evidenced by his new squad number of 4. Hunt and Dummigan should be top players at this level.

Baxter, if fit, and Byrne, if his head gets screwed back on are too good for L2. (Don't have faith in Byrne though...) Gardner was fantastic for Chesterfield last time he played in League Two, and has years of L1 experience since then.

Coke and Taylor coming in bring vital experience, they've been there and done it at a higher level. We'll have to see if fellow new boys Missilou and Branger's positive pre-season reviews continue into the proper stuff...

Placide, if he's gonna be our goalie, is a real enigma though. If we're on top, he's an asset, but he looked dodgy at times when we were put under pressure last season. If he's not, we need to find someone fast.

Cautiously optimistic about what Bunn and Rhodes are doing so far. They are carrying themselves with an air of confidence and strong focus, and their relationship with the squad looks to be developing well.

I agree there's still questions to be answered, but that's what I base my positivity on. I just hope the owner Lemsagam does better now he has his feet under the table. Could go either way.

Strongly in favour of ignoring that club as much as possible. Or call them Milton Keynes, never Dons. Fantastic pettiness when Wimbledon didn't even put their badge on the programme. :D

Not us, we're short a defence and midfield.
No worries about our midfield whatsoever. Tranmere will be desperate to get Norburn on a longer contract.

Mullin looks like a poor mans Norwood so far, not sure what Swindon fans were on about there.. time for him yet though.
