No worries about our midfield whatsoever. Tranmere will be desperate to get Norburn on a longer contract.

Mullin looks like a poor mans Norwood so far, not sure what Swindon fans were on about there.. time for him yet though.
I mostly joke as we've strengthened both though losing osbourne will be tough if we don't get a decent replacement in, more that of all areas it's up front we have least to worry about with Doidge and Reid, just need to get them service.

Opposite of us then.

Confident that our four winger/cam’s will be good at this level but we don’t have a poacher or target man up top.

We've not scored at the new Wembley in 3 attempts so your prediction would be most welcome.

As today thats what I am going for.

Of the three big spenders I think one will miss out, MK taking the other promotion spot. Mansfield's signings just look better than the other two and Lincoln should be strong.

Swindon have done good business and Vale ourselves have made some shrewd signings which make us look much stronger on paper than last season. Fancy Cambridge and Crawley to improve.

Bury might have us last season written all over them with Lowe their Michael Brown, whilst Oldham consolidate. Crewe, Newport and Colchester don't seem to have done much in the window to improve and will probably finish as they were last season.

Carlisle seem to be in chaos losing a few players and seem to be trimming financially, Cheltenham to find it harder without Eisa.

Promoted Tranmere do better of the two with a solid finish but Macclesfield just don't seem to have done enough as yet in the window to suggest anything other than a huge struggle. Morecambe finally succumb after years of teetering on the brink with Yeovil just staying up.

For us this season based off of pre-season, I think we will be fairly solid at the back, but lack of options up front may hamper us.

Beckford will miss the start of the season, meaning we will have to rely on Dagnall paired with Omotayo or Archer. From what I’ve seen so far, I’m not convinced by Dagnall.

Mayor and Adams will be solid enough on the wing sides but Mayor hasn’t managed a full season for a while now hence why he still plays for us.

Dawson in CM is good on paper but he’s past it now, Styles is another young CM who is very promising, Danns is solid too.

I also have reservations about the capability of Ryan Lowe.

It’s a hard one to call, in some areas we have good quality, in others not enough. If we get lucky with injuries (which we haven’t been for about 4 years) we could have a solid season.

We also have players like Harry Bunn and Jay O’Shea who should on paper ‘be too good for league 2’ but they weren’t regular players last season and I wouldn’t be surprised to see one or both move on before the transfer window shuts.

O'Shea was quality at Chesterfield (and us on loan). surprised he has struggled with you.

Add him to the list of players that are good but performed poorly for us last season, it’s not a coincidence. Atmosphere on and off the field was toxic, off the field it’s still a shambles but it remains to be seen on the field.

Struggle this season and it could be the end of the club, or at least set us back for a very long time. There is an apathy in the fanbase (not surprising given off and on field situ) and if it’s not sorted soon it could be a long lasting nail in the coffin of the club.

So here’s hoping we do fairly well! Obviously the situation is true of many clubs in this league, Vale are one especially I think given the rise of Stoke City over the last 10 years, okay they got relegated last season but they’re in a much healthier position than they were last time they were in Div 2 and have sold 19k ST’s for next season.

In all fairness we've just re-signed 3 of our best players to 2-3 year contracts who had a fantastic second half of the season last year in addition to the other core of young lads who signed 3 year deals throughout the season like Wintle, Lowery and Pickering too. Last year was a learning curve for us but we got stronger as the season progressed. To us, those are like new signings because had Davis been managing us still they'd be going for peanuts at a tribunal to League One clubs. Every player we've wanted to keep we've retained. This hasn't happened to our club since before our record breaking 2002-03 promotion season.

But I don't see us making the Top 7 this season. We're building a side that'll challenge in the next few years rather than be in a relegation scrap year on year but success won't come overnight. If it did, then maybe Artell is a miracle worker after all! We'll be vastly improved on the last two seasons though and I see us 2 fullbacks away from us having a complete, balanced and well rounded squad to take on the new campaign. And with our majority shareholder set to leave the club imminently, we'll be on a sounder financial footing once he goes off to challenge in the next few years too.

Would say that central midfield of Banks and Norburn with Tollitt on one wing and Cole/Smith on the other is one of the best midfields in the league. Our defence should be ok with a mixture of pace and experience and we have a few goalkeeping options. Just need that extra striker to partner Norwood really.

It’s a strong midfield, not sure how strong in this league however. Norburn will have a really good season at this level and there’s plenty of talent between Cole, Smith and Tollitt on the wings. If our midfield doesn’t do well we will have a very poor season.

Just listened to the D3D4 preview and they have us down as finishing 8th and that was before we signed THE VERMANATOR so we are now officially a solid shout for the playoffs according to the media.

I think it will be up there yeah. As has been mentioned we don’t fully know the standard of the league yet and a few clubs have been throwing around some serious money at fees and wages but it’ll be a sound midfield 4 we have. Just a bit worried about needing an extra striker at the moment...

As something to go off, the average finishing position for an NL promoted side is 13th.

Didn't they have Colchester 3rd? I've seen nothing in their summer transfer activity to suggest they will do any better than last year's mid-table effort.

They did and their main reason was because "they are really big and tall" and they love that Sammy Smoziks or whatever his name is. Nouble and Pell are decent enough signings to be fair, though.

I see quite a few writing Macclesfield off already, but bear in mind they won the Conference last year with a budget of about £500 so I wouldn't be writing them off.
Plus they beat us at Blundell Park every year without fail, they could turn up with 7 one legged players and they'd still do us 1-0.
I think they'll be lower half mid table myself.
