A good point at Blackburn after being 2-0 down at half time, although being denied one of the most blatant pens I’ve ever seen at 2-2 leaves a slightly bitter taste.

Another example of where the player didn’t go down so wasn’t rewarded .

So heading to the New Den for the first time. I actually asked a lot of my family if they fancied coming too and the categorical response was “errr… no”. Perhaps there is a bit of a fear factor there still for this fixture. I admit to being slightly apprehensive; especially as the moron element in many clubs seems to have had a resurgence since fans were allowed back at games.

Luton have only sold 1600 tickets in advance with tickets available on the day… when has that happened for a London fixture ever, let alone a Millwall game! It’s been strange that I don’t think we’ve sold out any allocations this season so far… Perhaps away attendances have been down everywhere this year due to Covid?

Anyway, it seems we’re in ok shape for a change… if you believe a Jones presser. Could be the first time we may have close to a full squad available - to get to 13th at this stage is a great result.

Certainly have some very winnable fixtures up until the November internationals. Millwall have had a stuttering start themselves and this league appears to be as unpredictable as ever this season

How did you find it Ken? I dont really find it that intimidating really, the locals seem to seem to think they are auditioning as an extra for Peaky Blinders but i dont really find it all that intimidating. Certainly in the ground the crowd is kind of scattered and not much atmosphere.

Police presence was a lot bigger than the NYD game in the 19/20 season and they didnt prevent people getting to the station at that one either. Apparently they had had a tip off of trouble today according to a copper who i spoke with.

I’ll be honest with you - there was more police presence at this match than any others I can think of in recent years. The “tip off”… hmm. Perhaps just a way for them to justify the huge overtime bill the taxpayer will have to top up. From London Bridge onwards it was a bit of a joke and a couple of kids were having a few punches with the Old Bill. I think the police were genuinely worried something was going to kick off as some were acting like they were going into a war zone.

You have to hand it to them though… they have every nook and cranny assessed to keep supporters apart - clearly they’ve done this before many times. But I don’t like it and I can see why some would want to avoid that. There just seems to be a lot of hate from (what you think) are adults and kids acting like idiots. Away from the match itself it wasn’t enjoyable. Being kept in the long alley to get the home thugs away for 30 minutes was a real annoyance.

Also, Derby's right back is probably going to play for England.

Sad to say, but he should have gone down. It looked a stonewaller, but as he stayed up it ruined his chances.

The highlights on quest showed a lot of chances for derby, and perhaps should have won. Is this a fair reflection or biased editing ?
They absolutely battered us, we missed an absolute sitter in the last 5 minutes that Quest neglected to show for some reason but it would’ve been a complete robbery.

Don't worry, you've got us next. I reckon you could field 8 players and still find a way to beat us at Deepdale.

Not a chance this lot beat you tomorrow.

I'd take a 6-0 hammering off you though if it gets him sacked and we actually go to Blackpool with a plan.

Derby for us tonight. Obviously they are in a bit of a false position due to the off field issues and I do think they have some talented players still despite that so it’s not going to be an easy game. Could see some changes from Saturday, with how we play it’s not possible for us to just go 3 games in a week with the same 11 although some key players like Cornick, Bradley, Lockyer Bree, Adebayo, Clark don’t see how you can drop any of them given they have been in good form!

Probably

We’ve recently been matching teams who play 3 at the back but I notice Derby do not do this, so I wonder if we will change things a bit and go to a back 4 and instead of playing wing backs high, play an out and out winger like Onyedinma who is back available and deploy Harry Cornick wider. Maybe over thinking things a touch there but wouldnt surprise me

I'd be surprised if Derby go down to be honest, look to have some fight about them but lack a goalscorer, so that could be the difference.

Well shows what i know - unchanged team! Do worry a bit about fatigue especially second half if we play with the really aggressive press, but its a winning team playing well so makes total sense

Jones is as honest as the Prime Minister in press conferences. "There will be changes" - total BS! Completely unchanged 18.

In my defence if I’d had heard he had said that in his press conference I would have predicted what has happened I think!! You are so right, he’s full of hot air in his press stuff

Derby 1-0 Luton - Tom Lawrence

Luton have done nothing in the first 20 minutes.

Yep not had a kick at all but they hadn’t created anything of note either. Shaping up to be a non event and then we make a bad error and it’s 1-0. Not great. Only thing I can see is us doing the same to them as the keeper has had a few dodgy moments being chased by Adebayo. We’ve got no foothold in midfield so far

Very surprising double tactical sub after 30 minutes... two of the best players on Saturday hauled off!

To be honest they look knackered after Saturday.

Been better since the subs so maybe indicates we should have matched them up.

Goal aside which was a bad error on our part it’s looked like 2 not great attacking sides so far, we’ve been doing the direct thing to Adebayo and they have passed it a lot without actually creating anything off it. Annoying as for as poor as we’ve been if im not sure they would have been able to make the breakthrough without us giving them a helping hand

Did well to get back into it and started to look the more assertive but another poor goal. Just has to be saved by Sluga I’m afraid.

Shows just how big a deal mistakes are at this level. No quality in the game and probably all 4 goals are a direct result of just poor, poor errors. Ends 2-2 but very far from being a classic that that scoreline might imply!

Credit to Adebayo, he got absolutely nothing go away his away all night, got a bit of a raw deal off the ref i thought at times but kept going and leaps like a salmon get the equaliser. Sign of a good striker i guess to not really be on your game and still have an impact.

4 points from 2 away games, really pleased with that. Expecting lots of changes for Saturday though, we always struggle with this 3rd game in the week.

Am I allowed to be a little disappointed we didn’t win that one? Yes Derby’s work rate was considerable, but I felt like we totally wasted the first 45 minutes and they were there for the taking.

Perhaps it was a byproduct of Saturdays intensity or the conditions, but we could’ve had 6 points this week.
