Yes.
Last night, fantastic work rate, persistent pressing and closing down, excellent passing at speed, shooting on target. All qualities that Pelly has in abundance, so why wouldn't he be straight back in? Just a case of which of Adebayo or Cornick drops out for him.

(Yes, this is a joke, unfortunately NJ does seem to want him in the team, even when he is woefully out of form,, same as he usually does with Potts. Personally I would have been happy to wave him off in the summer.)

I know you won’t agree but I actually think Pelly is good at those things, maybe with exception of shooting although he can pull a “banger” out every now and again. It’s why he’s here and been largely first choice the majority of the time. He’s got great energy to keep up a press for long periods so he’s definitely going to play a big part for us.

Agree about Potts but as we’ve just won 5-0 in one of the best performances of recent memory not something I’d dwell on too much!

Huddersfield at home for us on Saturday. They have had an extra days rest on us (which i really dont understand why its beyond the fixture list to plan it so the teams who play on a Tuesday play another who also did on the Saturday after so Wednesday teams can play against other sides who had to play that day but..who knows) so that might be a factor given we play so aggressively out of possession.

I quite like the match up for us, they seem to want to build out from the back with a bit of methodical passing game, which Swansea and Coventry both tried which presented us with some real opportunities for us to press. Dont really think you can make any changes from last nights team given how well everyone played, just a case if that 3 at the back formation is the right one to go at them with.

When i saw their signings in the summer i thought they might be struggling but have started pretty well - be good to see Matty Pearson back again, hope he gets a warm reception.

Jesus, what a response that was to the Luton debacle, maybe we are actually really good after all! I thought our second half was actually quite similar to Luton’s first half on Wednesday in the way that we pressed Fulham hard, didn’t give them any time and were clinical when we got our chances. Think we scored 4 goals from 4 consecutive shots on target. Haven’t seen it back but I hear the pen was a shocking decision which is a shame, but I also thought the pen we conceded on Wednesday was a shocker as well so I guess they even out.

0-0, little bit unsatisfying that as we were totally the dominant side in the first half, but whereas we looked so sharp in the final 3rd midweek, we didn’t have that today. Missing the final pass really. Still had the best chance which Bell probably should have scored, maybe a bit harder than it looked.

Second half was a bit more even but by the 75 minute mark I think we kind of ran out of puff a bit. Got into lots of good areas but final ball just wasn’t quite right. Little bit more composure we might have nicked it.

Good to get into the international break now, should get a few more players back on the other side of it, and no ones going to an international side this time so some chance work on some things

Didnt really get the ball down enough and try and turn them other than fits and spurts. We dominated the first half without creating much, but probably just lost the second half. NJ and Sonny Bradley both reference this in their post game, they dropped quite deep to make those balls into the channels that produced so much for us mid week weren’t really there today. It’s very much what we are set up to do though so that’s a challenge for us we will have to work out how to deal with.

Having said that enough worked that we managed to get into a lot of good crossing opportunities generated from them today but that final pass wasn’t there. Bree was particularly bad for this today - felt he was looking fatigued early on which is something of a concern as he is so key to us and we don’t really have another RB like him

We didnt lose tho and i like the confidence at the back to receive and move the ball. Be nice if Rea could find more space to receive and turn or make triangles to isolate and break thru their lines and allow for Berry or Clark to do the same by creating space.

Great as a foil/alternative for the channel balls and keep the opposition guessing which way we gonna go. WIP and starting to bare fruit and very happy with our development

I think this is a fair assessment. It is a WIP. We also have some very winnable games coming up between international breaks.

I was heavily critical of Rea last season, but he had been very good this week - last season he was too negative and wasn’t really contributing enough to be deserving of a place.

I thought we did enough yesterday to win the game, especially first half where we absolutely battered them, yet couldn’t get the ball in the net.

Perhaps the result was indicative of two middle table sides not going up or down this season.

Wow, that was some collapse as soon as Bauer got injured, this back three is an absolute shambles without him.

Hope this forces McAvoy's hand to reintroduce Sinclair & Barkhuizen, two of our main threats.

I fully expect us to be bobbing around 14th-19th all season but any more big injuries and we might have to be very concerned.

Derby at home on Saturday, all proceeds for the game will be donated to Trevor Hemmings' charities and as of this morning, all remaining tickets have been dropped to a fiver for home and away fans. Can't knock PNE for that.

As for the football, we really need a fucking win, or the pressure will be on McAvoy on the team, draws aren't good enough.

Praying Bauer is back as the defence is absolutely reliant on him. Guessing McCann may be missing for a few weeks at least, maybe even a couple of months. Olosunde and Evans might be back in contention.

I don't want to see this 5-3-2 at home, it's predictable and frail if we lose key players.

Get some wingers and our main attacking threats on the pitch.

Millwall away for us tomorrow, always a really tough game. Last season in this fixture we got physically dominated and deservedly beaten. We are slightly different physical proposition now so hopefully that won’t happen this time out although I do expect it to be a very physical game.

The break came at a good time and seems like we might be getting closer to having some key players back in which should give us some more flexibility.

Blackburn away for us tomorrow with over 3.5k tickets sold. Away form has been poor so far this season, but Robins said after the Luton debacle that they’d go away during the international break and have a rethink as to how we approach them. Brereton-Diaz missing for them which is a plus.

So heading to the New Den for the first time. I actually asked a lot of my family if they fancied coming too and the categorical response was “errr… no”. Perhaps there is a bit of a fear factor there still for this fixture. I admit to being slightly apprehensive; especially as the moron element in many clubs seems to have had a resurgence since fans were allowed back at games.

Luton have only sold 1600 tickets in advance with tickets available on the day… when has that happened for a London fixture ever, let alone a Millwall game! It’s been strange that I don’t think we’ve sold out any allocations this season so far… Perhaps away attendances have been down everywhere this year due to Covid?

Anyway, it seems we’re in ok shape for a change… if you believe a Jones presser. Could be the first time we may have close to a full squad available - to get to 13th at this stage is a great result.

Certainly have some very winnable fixtures up until the November internationals. Millwall have had a stuttering start themselves and this league appears to be as unpredictable as ever this season

That was a wonderful victory. True warriors, that whole side. Millwall are a bloody tough side to beat… and that was a truly perfect away performance.

Two great finishes from the Corndog who ran the Millwall back line ragged all game before coming off with what looked like a tight thigh. In previous years he would’ve been criticised for hitting the keeper or putting it wide. He is turning into the player I expected last season.

Real good away performance, solid defensively, worked exceptionally hard all day and took the 2 real clear cut chances we made in the game. 2 great finishes from Harry, in the warm up he looked his tentative self in the shooting practice but both were excellent finishes that he slotted with aplomb. Loved the second as he has missed that exact chance so often in the past but got it perfectly right this time. Clark set up both and was brilliant I felt and Adebayo is becoming such a consistent performer now, the ball just sticks up front with him.

Nothing flashy today just got the job done. Came under pressure toward the end, as you always will when they chuck Smith on and just launch everything into the box and even when he was causing problems Sluga was able to pull of some good saves. Just a really good satisfying day
