Another game, another shite refereeing decision, never a penalty for Colchester so we should be winning at HT (not that we want to be cos this competition is crap…bring back the JPT we won in 2008).

Hey, at least we scored our first away goal since April…and Wearne scored it despite being crap recently.

From what I gather we were dreadful, but it was a starting eleven that would do well to finish 15th in league two to be fair.

We don’t have the depth to take these games even as seriously as a friendly this season to be honest, one more game then it’s out the way. Managed to pick up another injury too!

We haven't played a game yet and are already above Lincoln in our group, hopefully that will change once we lose or first game, no idea who it'll be against or when?

Yeah, noticed the team you put out was missing some of your usual quality.

I quite like watching these games, but at the same time, I think I wouldn't lose any sleep if they just got rid of it.

We were supposed to be playing Man City U21's next Tuesday but they requested it to be cancelled (now moved to November) because the first team have Watford in the Carabao Cup and presumably most of them will be on the bench.

City have a habit of chopping and changing their U21s Trophy schedule, they did it to us and Grimsby a few years back.

4 National League clubs have opted out the new B team cup for non leagues. Well done to them.

(yes I'm aware Shaun Harvey works for Wrexham).

We won 2-1 at Burton tonight, went along as I had absolutely nothing better to do. Slightly weird with Notts’ following of maybe 600 making up a good two thirds of the crowd.

Played a complete reserve/youth team but they did alright. Played some nice stuff first 70 then clung on for a win when Burton brought some first team players on (or at least some I’d heard of). Kameron Muir made his debut for us having just turned 15 last month - our youngest player ever and presumably one of the youngest ever in senior English football.

Thanks for the ticket money. 600 of you need your head examined. I stayed at home. Glad we lost too.

It’s not far off what will be there for our two home games in this - think it’s because we’ve always seemed to avoid each other. I reckon that’s only the second time we’ve ever played at your ground so it was a new one for a lot of people.

Was entertaining anyway, both reserves played some nice stuff and the last ten with the army of children we brought on desperately trying to keep out Orsi, Whitfield and Watt was very funny.

600?? Jeez Louise we really are MASSIVE nowadays .

That's mental, maybe it's because so many hundreds missed out due to our visit to Chesterfield's reduced allocation.

Final game of this shambles tonight, made 9 changes. Hope for a low crowd, but wouldn't mind a decent performance and attacking display.

Loads of changes in our side, currently 2-2 vs Arsenal U21s. Hate the format of this trophy since it moved from the JPT, but at least some positives so far such as Ellis Harrison grabbing a couple of goals upon his return from suspension, Dean Lewington getting a game for the first time in a while to notch up his records (and getting an assist in the process), and a chance for some youngsters to shine.

Our game against Reading was called off due a waterlogged pitch. A week's worth of rain in 3 hours meant the drainage couldn't cope.

Cue tinpot claims from Reading fans on social media, etc...

Djibril Cisse’s son just made his debut for us. 12 of our matchday 17 have never made a league appearance for the club as far as I can tell. Not sure what anyone is gaining from this. Slocombe gets a game, I guess.

I'm not bothered about the tournament but nice to see a first senior goal for Calum Agius. 17 year old Owen Taylor is making his debut as well, he's not done a great deal tonight but he's supposed to be the best midfield prospect we've had since Seth Johnson, so I think we'll be seeing a lot more of him.

The Sky commentator is insisting that Harrogate have dominated, even though we've had twice as much possession and could be 3-0 up. Very strange.

Oh, he was with us when he was a kid, was wondering what happened to him. Cassius Cisse is a fantastic name.

Ended up winning 3-1 on penalties vs Arsenal U21s who were a decent outfit.

Good run out ahead of Port Vale at home on Saturday…

Ellis Harrison scored 2 goals. Hopefully he will bag one against his former employers on Saturday.
Dean Lewington played, got an assist and scored his penalty emphatically (best penalty of the night). Still got it at 40 years old.
Craig MacGillivray managed to save 3 penalties. Still prefer Tom McGill but not a bad back up to have and light years ahead of Filip Marschall.

I’m working outside tonight (my work is on the docks) and I’ve just heard a massive roar which I guess is Lincoln scoring, in the Mickey Mouse trophy that no one gives a shit about, absolute sad bunch of fucks.

I know you shouldn't read too much into games in this cup, but I'd probably be a bit worried about Harrogate. They played a fairly senior team against what was essentially our under-18s and lost, while barely creating a chance all game.

Looks like with Wrexhams win over Wolvo we're through to the next round without playing. And the crowd goes mild.
