If you had read my earlier posts you would've seen that I wasn't meaning to demand all 1ff forum users condemn it. I was referring to the left as a more general group.

Are the right going to condemn protesting today when people were attempting to pay their respect? Of course not.

They're both as bad as each other.

As I said above, the right has the same problem. The Nazi salutes in front of the flowers were extremely distasteful and rather ironic.

Apologising to the appropriation of a marginalised Native American tribe's name, one one of your operators almost genocided, would be a good start.

I was built for aerial appropriation and promoting torpedo culture.

I think we may as well close this thread now, quite clear there won't be anymore reasoned discussion.

If you want peace you need to equally apply the law to both sides.

maybe you should come back to this argument when you've read a bit more and experienced a bit more, cos your age is showing with weak bullshit like this.

What would you like to discuss? Why the left and right are hypocritical and remain silent on matters that do not validate their viewpoints and often completely undermine them? The bizarre absence of nuance in debates surroundings Islamic extremism? The reason why this bombing in Pakistan will be conveniently forgotten about shortly whilst we discuss Belgium for months?

I'm sure admin are too busy arbitrarily banning and punishing good, hard-working and valued members to close this thread. There is still much scope for debate, however, so maybe they will.

I'd appreciate it if you actually made a criticism of my posts, not just went for pointless attacks about my age. I appreciate some of my previous posts have been a bit ranty and am more than happy to try and clear them up for you.

I really can't see the problem with complaining that not enough criticism is being made of the fact that someone has been murdered because of their religious beliefs.

and as for the thing about equally applying the law, its an argument many scholars and academics like Norman Finkelstein have been arguing for a long time, so up yours. For the record, I have read a number of Finkelstein's books on the issue as well as books by Israeli authors, as well as a number of academic journals which all argue for this approach. This is neither the time nor the place to go into it.

The bombing in Pakistan won't be "conveniently" forgotten, it will be forgotten because it happens so often. IRA terrorism became far less noteworthy as it happened more and more. Bombings and school attacks and attacks on Churches and mosques and gathering places are regular happenings in Pakistan. There have been 7 in 2016, an average of 2.3 a month.

I think I've given you a fair amount of time and respect, but your arguments lack a credible theoretical foundation. I don't think you know exactly what your position is, aside from a vague need to the iconoclast in this discussion. Your age has plenty enough to do with it: you've not read enough to argue these topics convincingly. Not that you are incapable or unintelligent, just not far along enough in your learning yet. I think those rants are a great indicator of where you're at. That is the most patronising thing I think I'll ever write on these forums, but I think it needs to be said.

I'll admit I quite often jump in and write something without entirely thinking it through. But I don't think it is valid in this case. If we want to create a better world, we need to all recognise evil and wrongdoing for what it is and criticise it and condemn it, especially when it is our own side doing it.

My position is I think quite clear though. The "Left" consistently argues that the main cause of radicalisation is factors such as western intervention, disengagement from community and lack of opportunity. They play down the contribution that Islamic beliefs make in this matter. Murders like this one are a clear counter to that argument. We would all agree that someone who murders another man based on his religious views is a radical, right?

So there is clearly a problem is there not? And support that has been given for the murder (from ahmadi's also (Asad Shah apparently claimed he was a prophet)), is worrying.

So as a country, we should all be addressing this problem. I don't see what is incoherent, racist, point-scoring or whatever else you want to accuse me of about this viewpoint.

I'm well used to it mate, I learned after a while the kinds of people that are worth engaging with dialogue and negotiation. Can't be arsed with the rest tbh.

Alright, I'll bite, why don't you consider me worth engaging in dialogue with? I'd genuinely like to know.

Going on your posts over the last couple of pages, it'll basically be a really really long process and I can't be arsed.

Why is it my posts that is the problem, surely it would be the manner of them which is an issue? I know you probably don't give a shit but I'd like to make my points in a more coherent manner in the future.

I'm always suspicious when people say 'I know you're wrong but I can't be bothered explaining'. Generally means they can't. We're all sad, lonely, internet nerds here (well not me I'm a bouncy castle). We all have the time to debate and prove others wrong. Proving how smart we are to the other lonely, sad internet nerds is the raison d'etre of the internet, I'd argue, so I wouldn't worry too much MorDon, clearly not worth your attention.

MorDon you obviously have your reasons to see the world the way you do, and I've been around the forum long enough to get a gist of the way you generally perceive Muslims. This perception massively influences the way you interpret things and until you go out and meet normal muzzies I don't think we could ever converse on any meaningful level.

"go out and meet normal muzzies". I have spent many hours talking to Ahmaddiya Muslims from the mosque a few minutes away from my house, I have many friends at uni who are Muslims, I am studying Arabic modules where everyone else is Muslim, I am travelling to Lebanon in the summer, spending my money and time to look after severely disabled "muzzies", and by that I don't mean VSO hug an african child and build a school looking after, I mean showering them, cleaning them, wiping up their shit and vomit, full-intensive care. I plan on living in Lebanon for a few year doing the same, without pay.

Hope those "muzzies" are normal enough for you mate.

Prove to me that the Quran States to kill infidels* in anything other than the context of war.

*infidels being the oppressors and aggressors against the prophet who was persecuted for preaching.
