England fans at home are horrific, but away from home they (we) are brilliant. Always decent numbers, lots of noise and of course the brilliant display of hundreds of St George's flags.

I only go to away games now and since euro 2012 our fans have been top class away from home. Before that we were shit though , too much expectation where as now there isnt really any. Are you gonna ireland and slovenia mate

England at home is like watching Arsenal v Hull at the Emirates among the home fans. When there's an attacking move by the hosts, there's a brief murmur of approval and, if a goal is scored, a brisk round of applause and a muted cry of "Huzzah!" If the attack breaks down, there's an outraged "Tsk!".

Also, there must be a collective noun for almost 80,000 people not knowing the words to "Swing Low, Sweet Chariot".

Left it too late to get tickets due to others messing about! Unlikely to be able to do another away one till the Euro's due to tickets. Had no chance with Lithuania.

Can't wait to get qualified and into the draw to find out where we are playing in France!

I would love for the England games to go on back on the road. Would be a better atmosphere at St James' Park, Old Trafford etc. Problem is, the FA have no reason to with our huge crowds for home fixtures.

England friendlies at least should go on the road, qualifiers I reckon should stay at Wembley potentially.

Was planning to go to Ireland without, but I wouldn't go all the way to somewhere like Lithuania or San Marino without. I agree it is run poorly!

You can buy tickets in the ireland end at the minute £54. Also san marino just watch it from the grass behind the goals. Lithuania will be an issue for everyone due to the very low capacity.

Best: Pirelli Stadium
Worst: apart from the obvious Don Valley, Globe Arena is horrendous for a new build.

That "park pitch" in Dartford where Maidstone played was built over back in the early 90s.
I'm not sure what you'll think of the Hive whenever we next play you. It's the antithesis of Underhill!

Watching Bradford City I'd say the best is probably Villa Park. The worst by far is Don Valley, I do like Rotherhams new ground though.

Did you get Ireland ones from ticketbis? Which block you in? Few mates have got em in home end but they've not come yet. I got one in the ballot for all my sins after signing up last year. San Marino you can jib easy.

Not bothering with Slovenia as i'm going Ibiza week after and Lithuania does appeal but might just do Spain in November when they convirm that.

Agree about home atmosphere, we left after 20 mins during the Lithuana game, after being in London all day on the ale then UEFA deciding they don't wana sell ale in ground it wasn't ideal, literally went for the caps

I went to Villa Park on Sunday for the first time and it is probably my new favourite for its combination of size, character and tradition etc. Otherwise my favourites were places like the away end at Underhill and London Road, but both are no longer on offer so I'm not too sure now.

Can't really say our new ground as the worst, so I'll say Shrewsbury as it is basically the same apart from having a smaller main stand.

Im going but iv been before anyway. Went on the way to zagreb a few years back. I agree its a very nice place however that doesnt really matter on england away trips just a few decent boozers does the trick for me.

Really?

Atmosphere was class on Sunday and it's a fucking incredible stadium.

Yep, hated it. The atmosphere was souless and fake. It felt like I was surrounded by a load of Premier League fans watching a concert. Playoff finals maybe, JPT final, never again hopefully.

Fair enough. Maybe it helped that there was 15 of us all sat together singing all the way through along with the rest of the block. Singing section definitely worked though, was fantastic.

Agree - it was wank.

Atmosphere was shit, the stadium was alright.

Good day out - but no-one was up for the JPT enough, it was far better for our PO Final vs Hull.

One of the only City fans who likes the Ricoh?!

I like it as a ground, yeah. It's obviously crap now being less than a quarter full but when it's full it's fantastic. The away fans being so far from the vocal home fans is a bit crap but hopefully that might change next year.

Agree with Saddlerrad about Wembley, but I guess it isn't really comparable to other grounds. Wembley is all about the occasion, and seeing all of the team colours mingling around all around the area and up Wembley Way, with the singing and horns blowing etc - a bit of a small carnival going on that you can soak up beforehand.

Wouldn't want to go there often, but as a one off occasion it is a good day and I'd love for us to get back there again.

Oh yeah, don't get me wrong, I would hate playing there every week. As a rare occasion though it can't be beaten.

Probably helped that you won the game in under 15 minutes.

Aye, don't know if the noise travelled to the Swindon end all that well but I thought the atmosphere was excellent on Sunday
