My main issue is that we've potentially lost the two people Lapping was planning on hiring. The investment doesn't seem to be affecting signings as we've already made three so there's not too many other problems that waiting for this new offer will cause us. Lapping, to me, seems willing to come back in if this one falls through so, again, no harm in checking it out.

Although tempted to leave you Cumbrians to go off into a darkened room, I have to say how lucky you are to have a guy like that supporting the club. Great interview from an obviously deflated but genuine fella.
He was worse on the radio on Tuesday night, he swore at one stage and seemed very worked up. Understandable though when you've spent £40,000 and 9 months of your life trying to get us investment from local businesses in order to make us sustainable. He'd found us a new MD and commercial director only for them to be told they won't be hired for at least three weeks which is why, as he says in the interview, the timing of the new offer has been terrible.

I wish we'd just stuck with Lapping, he's a genuine fan and obviously wants what is best for the club.

Highly doubt this 'billionaire' investment will come to fruition, and if it did, it will end in tears. Plenty of fans will be displeased if Nixon and co are still in control next season, some are even contemplating cancelling their season tickets.

Lots of positivity ahead of the season has been crushed, however with the recent signings I'm still optimistic of a good season.

I wonder why the appointment of a new managing director has been put on hold....

I wondered that, although it's good news that the commercial director is getting the job. If ever there was a time for fan engagement...

So the one they were about to appoint on 90k a year can get a job elsewhere, then when the billionaire thing goes dead in the water (officially) Nixon can carry on with MD duties and can continue arse fucking the FA and football league lot.

Odd really as the managing director who we'd made an offer to was supposed to then join in the interviews for the other directors.

The managing director that we were about to appoint actually (alongside lapping) interviewed some of the commercial manager candidates on Monday afternoon.
Fuck knows what he's thinking now.

All is quiet on the Quintillionaire front

I believe we're going to buy the isle of Mann and turn it into a training complex. We'll be almost as rich as Bury at this rate.

Can we just be transferred straight to the Premier League to save the hassle of us having to get there?

Much better than the block blue we usually get from generic suppliers like Sondico. Much prefer white and blue, although I didn't like this year's either because of the three badges.

I think Hartlepool are in front of you in the queue seeing as they already have Pep Moore and Lionel Bingham at their disposal.

I figured we could just do a straight swap - Arsenal for Hartlepool because of the silky skills and passing play, and us for Man City because of the mega bucks. I don't think anyone would notice, I mean Billy Paynter is at least as talented as Edin Dzeko, right?

We had three badges because we're that much better than everyone else. One badge cannot do us justice (though I presume you're including the Sondico logo, so actually we 'only' had two badges).

Do you remember the cartoon where pepe- le pew on his way to romancing always managed to walk under a painters ladder and get a white stripe on his back? That's what that strip reminds me off
