Looking like Bristol City might be next to fall foul of spending big time to reach the promised land and falling short

From the statement underneath that tweet it seems they are bracing for some repercussions of this from the EFL. Got a wealthy and, from the outside looking in, a seemingly dedicated owner so don’t think there’s big trouble there but surely the EFL will be looking at such a huge loss closely

So is the £44million loses for Bristol City a big deal that could lead to EFL penalties or is it something the owner will cover?
He's stupidly loaded isn't he? They'll probably be fine.

We’ll probably be okay but this has been coming. We’ve been on a downward spiral these last couple of years and no money has been coming in.

Previously we had the sales of Adam Webster, Brownhill, Bobby Reid, Joe Bryan, Kodjia to keep us going. But we’ve recruited poorly these last 18 months and we’re paying for it now.

Covid hasn’t helped either obviously…

So are you likely to escape and FairPlay point penalties?

Steve Thompson has left us, brought in by Grayson and worked under Neil and McAvoy but won't be part of Lowe's team after he brought in Mike Marsh.

Supposedly he was Trevor Hemmings' man, rather than the manager's choice, apart from Grayson anyway.

Wonder if he'll end up back at the scum, as they need a No.2 after McCall ditched them.

VAR “lite” in the Championship?

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.bbc.com/sport/football/60433764.amp

Trouble with VAR is that so many decisions are subjective it becomes a lottery as to what decision will be made.

There have been a lot of changes in the laws and the system still creates confusion/debate.

People will be pleased if it has less influence on games and not taking up so much time out of them

People would be pleased if VAR was implemented properly in the first place like it was in all the other European leagues. But it won't be, because the refs in England are incompetent and use VAR incorrectly, just as they are incompetent in giving out penalties and yellow or red cards to players, and the FA, Premier League, and EFL are incompetent and won't bother trying to reform the refereeing in England and bring it up to the modern standards of other European leagues.

I think that if you had a better manager than streaky Lee Johnson back around 2017 or 2018 you probably would have already been promoted to the Premier League by now.

Fair point .

It has been used very inconsistently and you are far from certain of getting a decision everyone agrees with!

In fact deems it has lead to more debate /controversy and dissent from players.

Rumours that Chris Kirchner might have had a second bid accepted for the club.

Apparently has no real money, not sure that's the best move for you. Same guy who was trying to buy Derby I believe.

I was sat next to him in a pub in Derby before our game and he basically said that Derby was pretty much his. Apparently not.

I've heard very mixed things about his wealth and liquidity. Who knows, haven't really been following it.

We've always been available for a price so nothing has really changed on that front. A mental Yank could be fun at least.

Sounds like Kirchner taking over could be done, Ex Man City CEO, Garry Cook likely to be installed in some capacity if so.

Declan Rudd retires at 31 because of a knee injury. It's been unofficially known for a while.

Really shit for him, was never a fan tbh but he made huge improvements when we brought in Jonny Gould as keeping coach and for a while he was genuinely good and was looking like a confident and solid Championship keeper. Could have had another 5 or 6 years playing at a good level.

Luckily he's got a few businesses down south, so he's set up after football which is a silver lining.

Good luck to him.

Despite the surgeries and rehabilitation, it became clear that Dec would be unable to continue his career and he was forced to make the difficult decision to retire.

The Kirchner debacle is over, I've heard there's another interested party but could be bullshit.

Fulham do seem to still struggle in defence..

For all their attacking power they still don’t have stability in that area which cost them last season .

Just thought I’d mention again that it was me who first suggested KDH could get in that England squad…

Well I reckon the Luton train has hit the buffers finally
Injuries have taken its toll, the squad is not strong enough in depth
We’ll be clinging on to a play off position by the finger tips if we’re lucky
But what a ride..
Bye bye PRM…enjoy your deserved testimonial…
Thank you Danny Hylton for the memories…
Lansbury and Jerome…wtf!!

Oh wow, that Bassini cannot be allowed to buy Birmingham, he's a buffoon.

I saw a video of him calling in TalkSport and I had to turn it off, he's an embarrassment.

No idea how these people have managed to have successful business careers.

Even at this stage, I'd be amazed if the bottom 4 isn't Wigan, Rotherham, Birmingham & Reading in any order. I'd hope Blackpool but they probably have enough.
