6 leagues and six cups were before 1920, I doubt in the last 50 years that your crowds have been bigger than ours when in the same leagues.

Well, the only comparison we can make is now we're in the same division. You're third and flying, we're mid table and same old shit. We've higher crowds this season.

This is a subject I have a lot of interest in and I take great interest in other clubs histories aswell as my own club. I'm not one for slating other clubs because there are so many clubs with a proud history on English football and even the lesser clubs mean something to their own fans. I think I'm a pretty level headed villa fan who does not think we are anything other than what we are. Probably boring you lot already but here is my take on it.

I don't think it's delusional for anyone to think villa are the biggest club in the league and the same with Newcastle and Leeds but in my honest opinion I think it's between us or Leeds. Leeds have certain things over us and we have things over them. For how great Newcastles crowds are the fact that they have won nothing since the 50s is enough to put them behind us and Leeds. You measure how big a club is on trophies, history, fanbase and also on how fans of other clubs view you but the first three are the main criteria. For the record Leeds have poor home support imo and Have never averaged 40k in their history. They also have never averaged 30k since dropping out of the prem. I also find Leeds fans very sensitive about their support for some strange reason. Newcastle on the other and are historically the 6th best supported club so this myth about Newcastle having shit support before the prem is bullshit. Yes they had times of poor crowds but so did everyone at somepoint.

There are definitely 6 clubs bigger than villa that's for sure but we are where we are for a reason like all of us. Either way does it really matter.

If the bookies had us as second favourites they're fucking idiots. We were awful last season and were never getting up this season. Next season our crowds will keep up imo, I dunno about us being down for 12(?) years, but hopefully we don't have to find that out.
