Just seen, that the red dogs only took 500 to Leeds last night, lol, and some forest fan was on here slating Derby for taking over 860, on a Friday night, and it was on sky t.v, to lol.

And it was £2 cheaper for them.

I've changed my mind, didn't realise Newcastles early history was so good.

Villa were undeniably bigger up until 1964
So was Wednesday, Wolves, Preston, and Derby to name just a few from this league. Then you got a good team full of dirty animals, followed by good support also full of animals. Your history really only started then and trophy wise is still quite poor for a club as big as you claim to be. I would have you as the 3rd biggest team in this league, (it is close from 1 to 3 though and is only about opinions ) but would still (grudgingly admit) your away support is the best. (Which is what this thread is about). However like most on here I think your home support is wank for a club of your size in a 1 team city. (Please don't start the 2 team rugby bollocks, as they are not your rivals and are supported by the same people who sing the same songs, so they don't really infringe on your support).

I think the rugby league excuse is laughable. If you work it out Leeds probably have the worst home support in the country. One club city with a population of 800k, they have support all over the biggest county in England, no other big clubs within West Yorkshire, fans all over the uk, possibly top 5 biggest fanbase in England, Their away support is top 5 maybe top 3 in England. Anyway I still think Leeds is a good club. And just for the record smileyw, in the last 50 years we have been in the same division for 24 of those years. We have had an higher average 13 times to your 11. Not much in it but if you look at the bigger picture we are historically a better supported club at home. We also bettered your away support when we was in the lower leagues in the early 70s compared to your away support in recent years so it's all been done before by other clubs. You still easily have the best away support overall I will give Leeds that and you are still one of the most notorious clubs in England.

Agree with this. Rhinos also draw support from all over the west riding.

I've seen Yorkshire CCC brought into the equation in the past too, which is even more laughable.

I think the only guaranteed conclusive way to gauge which of those 3 clubs is the biggest is to compare how many times any of them have won the Auto Windscreens Shield.
Just looking now and none of those 3 have won it but wait, would you believe it, my lot won it in 1998 so we must be bigger than all 3 of you!
Excellent, case closed. :2thumb:

Of course they infringe on our support but that is no excuse to me as a different sport altogether, football clubs support is all about how good the team is, the price of tickets, how much they spend on players and who the owners are. At the start of the season except for a massive spend (for us) of 7 million the rest were pretty much negative, we know that not to be the case now but nobody thought we would do well including 90% of the people on this forum so the 25% reduction was hardly going to have people queueing round the block. Our owner since Bates came in have all about ripping the fans off they are more interested in income rather than bums on seats the reason why we piss everyone on here gate receipts per season, im sure newcastle and villa will get more than ours this time round but not by much.

Sold around 1,150 for Bristol City next Tuesday.

2,300 for Wigan.

Not great.

You've sold 1900 for Wigan according to my mate as of today. Says he's got his today and 1100 left from 3k so one of you is wrong somewhere along the lines.

That's what they told him at ticket office. Also a bit odd that you suddenly sold 800 tickets in a day on monday don't you think like the other Walkley said.

Aye, just going on their original tweet of an allocation of 3,500 and 1,300 left, makes no sense.

No idea just when he told me that earlier I thought I'd sure you'd said more a few days ago.

600+ sold for Burnley tomorrow with no POTD. Not bad given the fixture was arranged 10 days ago I guess, pretty sure it's more than the pitiful number we took in the league last season just after Christmas.

Fuck that mate, going in the Swindon end against The Gas.

Expensive month next month, got Derby away, Leeds potentially in midweek, then weekend in Newcastle and Villa the following Tuesday.

It's a pretty dull away trip tbf although there does seem to be more people interested in going to the likes of your wigan, Bolton, Reading etc than the traditional old style football stadium. I think so anyway.

You're right in fairness, but we haven't had a big cup tie in my lifetime, last was '94 at Anfield so from my POV the FA Cup is shite

About the worst draw you could of got tbf. Long trip at a ground you've played at many times and almost certainly will lose , pretty sure I'd be giving it a miss too.

I did have a look at going but nearly £100 for the train alone.

I personally hope we lose tomorrow, if we get through we'll get something shite like Leeds or Norwich away, we've got much bigger priorities mate.

You can't want your team to lose even in the checkatrade trophy.

you do have the worst home support in England. When did i say we were massive ? And you was the one who said you bet you had higher attendances in the last 50 years which I proved you wrong. The last time we were fighting for the title we both averaged 29k and yes I did include 88. Mate face facts we have won way more and our home support is better. Add to that we have a lot more going against us regarding home support than Leeds do. I will give you the away support but you have fuck all else on villa.

This is definitely correct, club giving out misleading information, did look like 2.3k sold earlier in week, certain the figure of 1.9k now is true though.
