Stags have no reason to rest players as our game is off on Saturday due to our stars travelling abroad on international duty

Blackpool at home tomorrow. Will be a 500 crowd with Yates playing our first team and getting smashed.

Despite not playing Saturday I would not risk certain players, Sweeney, Bish, or Khan.

Give young Graham a start upfront with Rose/Davies too.

The club are really bigging up our game at Yeovil tomorrow, keen not to see 4 defeats on the trot
I could not care less, just hope no one gets injured.

£10 for adults, interesting to see how many turn up. We'll want to keep the good run going but this competition isn't the be all and end all.

As if this tournament needed more farcical rules, Dan Jones (who got sent off for us on Saturday) is suspended for both this and three league games, which makes absolutely no sense at all.

With you 100%. This tournament means nothing to me and I'm not sure any of my pals who watch City give two hoots either. I was not a big fan of the old version either. My interest perked up for the Argyle game purely because we had not played them for a while, but nothing to do with the actual competition. No injuries sounds perfect for me. Young up and coming players given a competitive run out as well please

Where's your pride Lincoln fans? Happy to see your historic club trot out against Premier League kids, simply because they've stockpiled as many as they possibly can and have loaaadsa manneeeey? Obviously you're all a bit giddy from winning a few games but where's your collective backbone? It's embarrassing.

It really doesn’t make any sense seeing as Wes Thomas (who was farcically sent off against Newport) is able to play tonight against you lot apparently!! Banned for Bury Saturday though.

Under 100 would happen anyway
The only away game we played in this competition last season was at Port Vale. I think 70 fans traveled. Whereas 750 went when we played Vale the time before in this competition.

For some reason, FGR have made it all-ticket for Cheltenham fans tonight.

Whilst I couldn't give a toss about this comp, we really could do with a decent performance just for morale purposes.

NOT SO

FGR website says all fans can buy tickets on day.

Tranmere away only a fiver to get in but I still think and hope way under 100 Crewe travel. Boycott this farce.

Each to their own and I wouldn’t want to tell people how to spend their money and how to support the club. Not in normal circumstances. The people who go to these games however want weeding out. North Korea and their ghost ships have the right idea.

Weird - his was for serious foul play (so three games) as well, right?

The rules on the website suggest he should be able to play, but we reckon that we’ve asked the FA/EFL and they’ve said that he can’t, so who knows.

I don't see it as a priority, we have a strong enough squad to be able to rest key players yet still have a reasonably good starting XI. I know the money is good, it's a given we will be given a crap away draw anyway.
FA Cup is never really a priority for any lower league side as such but I'd not be keen on disregarding it as quickly as you seem to be willing to.

The FA Cup, not just monetary but the momentum it built up for us with results and crowds coming back a couple of years ago, was a huge reason we've ended up where we are and becoming debt free (not that £300k was a big debt anyway) and finally getting another training ground.

I don't think there's a L2 Club big or good enough to weaken our sides too much in the FA Cup! Difference between this and last season is that we can probably withstand 2 or 3 injuries (position dependent).

We’ve been embarrassingly poor in all Cup competitions for years now. We’ve been knocked out by some real old crap year after year - culminating in FGR this year. Jeez!

If this was any other game tonight v Exeter ie FA Cup, League Cup, League game then i'd be annoyed if we lost. If we lost tonight i wouldn't feel in the slightest bit annoyed. That tells me intrinsically all i need to know about what i think about the competition.

The previous format wasn't great but it still had a tiny bit of interest for me even in the early stages but since they introduced the Prem U21 sides, IMO the competition has been devalued into something that i have zero interest in whatsoever.

It's a difficult one really as the players who go out tonight still have to remain professional and try to win a football match that most fans want them to lose and that can't be easy and as a fan you always want to try and support the lads.

I read of Denzel the Exeter fan compensating for his boycott by buying extra things from the club at leagues games prior to the Checkatrade games which is a great idea.

It's something to do with the Trophy no longer being classed as a first team competition since the Prem B teams were introduced. So Jones is banned from all football until 3 real first team matches have been played.

Yet Thomas had his 3 match ban reduced to 2 matches, but the match struck off the ban was our Checkatrade one. :dk: Jacob is right, it's a total farce. I know you're not saying it's not, by the way.

Since we got back in the league in 2016 we haven’t won a single cup game in any competition, 2 FA Cup, 3 League Cup and 6 Checkatrade games, lost 9 of them and drew 2 Checkatrade games but lost both on pens.

Hope we win it again, Wembley last season was class. Ridiculous prize money as well, which is always helpful.

As SoC has said. We appealed and they reduced it from 3 to 2. Complete bottle job by the FA to be seen to be supporting a new ref but virtually everyone who has seen it agrees it was never a red. Complete accident. Anyway, don’t want to get bitter about it!!
I don’t know if this means it has been deemed as not ‘violent conduct’ anymore and is why he can play tonight but seemingly dan jones can’t. Who what the fuck the FA think. Thomas is still banned from Bury on Saturday.

Such a weird one that. Surely it's either a red card offence or it isn't? I can't remember a 2 match ban becoming a 3 match ban like that before.

Against League 3 have shared on twitter today that they reckon this format is going to carry on for another 3 years.

Claim attendances are on the up, Well done Lincoln.. Be interesting to see what they are around the grounds tonight to see whether the boycotters are staying strong or people are just going to accept it as what it is now.
