It's something to do with the Trophy no longer being classed as a first team competition since the Prem B teams were introduced. So Jones is banned from all football until 3 real first team matches have been played.

The first bit makes sense, but I can’t get my head around why he’s then banned tonight as well. We also play two under 23 fixtures between now and the end of his ban and he can’t play in those either, so it’s effectively a six game ban but only a three game ban.

It’s like some weird system where this trophy both doesn’t count as a game for suspensions but somehow also does count for suspensions in this case but not other cases for reasons I’m not sure even exist.

Against League 3 have shared on twitter today that they reckon this format is going to carry on for another 3 years.

Claim attendances are on the up, Well done Lincoln.. Be interesting to see what they are around the grounds tonight to see whether the boycotters are staying strong or people are just going to accept it as what it is now.
I’ve seen a few of our fans on Twitter saying they might go tonight, doesn’t seem the same outraged replies either that there used to be.
I’m on my 4 off at the minute and to take me and my lad tonight would only be £6 to get in but I’m still not tempted, I wouldn’t go even if it was free entry.
Shaun Harvey and the FA can fuck right off.
Wankers.

I guess it's a free view on whether you go to the games or not.

Still, i'm not that naive, and won't have any of it

Our game is £5 tonight for adults. But £10 on iFollow in the uk. Or about £5.30 if you use a VPN from the service abroad.

Which is the better deal......

The ban is from 'all forms of football' and was received from the senior competition. The ban is effective for the period until the ban has been completed in that competition (2 or 3 games). The fact that there are 'lesser' competition matches during that period is immaterial, he is still banned from 'all forms of football' and they do not count against that ban.
It prevents players from swerving/reducing the length of a ban in an important competition by the club counting their lesser in-between matches when they probably weren't going to play in them anyway.

More importantly who’s sending the kids to play their games tonight?

For betting purposes...

Are you free tonight and fancy watching a game of footy on some dodgy site? You're in luck - USM Alger are taking on Bordj Bou Arredi at 7.45pm, while ES Setif vs Paradou kicks off at 8.

BOYCOTT this joke cup competition not only by not going to your lot's game, but also refraining from tuning in to iFollow/radio comm.

You seem to know a bit about it (more than I know or can be arsed to find out) but it begs the question as to why Wes Thomas is available for us tonight and then still suspended on Saturday in the league?

I thought the Checkatrade (and now the Carabao) has seperate bans now so in essence you cant be banned from the league if sent off in either of these competitions.

I see the Cowley sisters redefined irony for calling Mansfield “overly physical” in Lincoln’s latest failed attempt to beat us

Great goal for our second, both made several changes so it was always going to be a disjointed display.

Cowleys are passionate but it comes across like little cry babies a lot of the time, I don’t really understand the problem considering there was only one deserved red card all night and it was a Lincoln player.

No idea what formation we were playing last night but we had one CB playing, one CM (17 year old) and 6 attackers, so it looked like a 3-1-6 from the teamsheet.

Tbf, even your lot were saying you were OTT in the first half last night. I wasn't there, but when the recipients are saying they were all deserved yellow cards then you can't really argue. Every update seemed to be 'FK to Lincoln as 'x' brings down McCartan/Anderson'.

Fliftcroft was the one causing a stir by refusing to shake hands at the end of the game.

Yeah we get it you made changes - and so did we including a CB (18 year old)

Rash tackles it sounded like in the first half, and they all got punished, same with the red card for your lad in the second half.

Flitcroft apperantly was uncharacistally wound up after the game, but it's just ironic considering the only red card in the game was on Lincoln side and you have a player in the starting line-up that likes to hurt people intentionally.

Touchy. Only a genuine comment/observation.

Not sure who you're referring to r.e. intentionally hurting people.

Can understand an opposition manager being wound up by the Cowley's tbf. It happens a lot. I know as a fact that Cooper can't stand them.

Aye. Well it’s not a recognised game or competition so it won’t go down in the record books I presume. Still nice to see the reserves/those in need of games get some minutes also.

The cowley sisters were equally daft when we won there in the league last season. Seems like we Just played Lincoln at their own game. Was pleased this morning when remembered we’d played lol

To be fair I thought they were poor comments from DC. Seemed to be speaking on emotion which he rarely does.

Over 4,000 there as well which I was genuinely embarrassed at when I saw it. I thought we'd get somewhere between 2,000 and 2,500 which, while still not great, can be excused given we usually pull in 8/9,000 for home matches.

Only around 50 U's fans made the short trip to Roots Hall, which is great news afaic. I see Mansfield had over 200, but what about the other sides?

I wishes it was lower, but with Crewe off on Saturday some obviously wanted their football fix too much

We had to come from behind twice at our own place to beat a Morecambe team that had made 8 changes where we fielded an almost full strength side. Even so, Morecambe might feel like they deserved more from the game, having lost to three moments of individual class against a team that otherwise failed to break them down once.

I see this forum boycotted the games last night - wonder if they went to help out the Cleethorpes Town forum?

I see the game got a bit 'tetchy' which has OVERSPILLED on to this forum. Seen a bit of footage and there were a few robust challenges from the stags.

Flitcroft REFUSED to shake hands with Nicky Cowley at the end of the game - never nice to see :lac:

Oh and Jamie McCombe making an appearance :bg:

Mind, I’ve softened a bit on this trophy lark.

Least we’re in it. Chesterfield lost st boreham wood to lose their 6th straight game in the conference. This is better than that.

We came from behind to win and I genuinely cannot remember the last time we did that. A shocking first half redeemed by a good second half. Nice to see Akheem Rose play a part too.

Elsewhere, it was a massive shock to see Sunderland playing Stoke u21s! Quite a win from FGR as well. Did most teams make a few changes for last nights game, think we made about 5? And finally, I saw some Lincoln fans had the cheek to call Mansfield’s away support poor!

Seven changes for us; ashamed to admit I turned it on to listen for a bit of the second half as I was interested in how the new young loanee striker we have would do. Cheltenham sounded a complete mess, they need to get a new manager in ASAP.

After doing our best to throw it away we won on penalties. It was quite entertaining even if a waste of money switching the floodlights on. 2400 in our stadium at £5, £1 and kids free prices surely was a pretty big financial loss.

Think I read somewhere they compensate you for that, knowing what their fraudulent tin pot competition will mostly be like.
