Worth taking into account the oversees support and recognition of clubs in relation to club size. Feel like that's a factor that's hardly discussed when defining the size of a club, but with English football being watched more and more abroad it should be taken into account. This benefits clubs that have recently been in the Premier League where all the coverage is. Like for example a foreign football fan is much more likely to know who QPR are than the majority of other clubs in the Championship due to their recent Premier League status. Does this add to their club size?

I can't be bothered doing a full list of clubs but I'd put us somewhere in mid table. We'd have been down the bottom but the FA Cup win in particular and recent long Premier League spell bumps us up for me. For what it's worth no way should Hull be anywhere near the top teams. In my opinion, even we are a bigger club than Hull.

Take away slightly bigger attendances and there is literally no difference between Reading and Brighton whatsoever.

Both have almost identical spells in each of the fourth divisions (no more than one season more/less in any tier).

Both have won fuck all (one Simod Cup vs one Community Shield) and both are in the past few years experiencing some of their best seasons and highest attendances.

We're the 20th biggest club in the league, Brighton are no higher than 18th.

He gives his breakdown, it's not his or your fault you've only been a league club since the late 70s.

Based on crowds alone it looks right.

Jesus, go back a few pages and read the criteria, if it was based on my personal feelings then I doubt i'd have PNE 3 places below Burnley and Blackburn at 5th.

You really are the thickest c*** i've ever encountered on the internet.

I'd put you 4th bottom.

Edit - In fact, with MK Dons going down, i'd put you third bottom, Burton getting promoted might move you up a place...

The one I'm surprised about is QPR being so low in the table. That might have something to do with the relatively small clouds Loftus Road can hold.

What defines a big club! If it's history, we are out!!!! If its catchment area related to professional clubs around you we are in. By the way that guy 'Madjeski' or someone saying there's nothing between Reading & Btn needs to take his rose tinted glasses off..........there official away attendance at the Amex this season was 'an amazing'......... 56.
You'd be the biggest club in England, we'd be the 4th biggest. Definitely can't use that criteria!

Sorry mate but Wigan are fucking tinpot. The season you won the FA Cup, your European season and all your years in the Prem and still your ground was half empty. Also hard to respect any club that needs a fucking drum to build an atmosphere.

For me, considering size, fan base and history, these are the top 6:

Leeds
Forest
Wednesday
Blackburn
Boro
Derby

You've got to take fanbase, potential fanbase, catchment area etc into account. If you're talking recent history - yes, Wigan have done more than we have - but by the same token, we had nearly 45,000 venture to Wembley for the pisspot trophy last season; whereas Wigan couldn't sell 24k for an FA Cup final.

Many other factors to take into account rather than just history.

I'd suggest all of them were Bristol City fans given they were there supporting them....

I'd say it's surprising yeah - I'd also say it's pretty impressive in comparison with Wigan's figure. Didn't you sell 9k for the FA semi?

The same could be said for any side playing at Wembley, I'm willing to bet that not everyone in your measly attendance for the cup final was a Wigan fan.

When we got 35k at Wembley then you know that any Wembley attendance figures for any team other than the big 6 or so is most likely a load of crap, I know a Spurs fan that was in the Watford end for example

we sold out.... bristol citys fan base aint that much bigger than ours so that 45k is a lot of bandwagon fans who have no interest in bristol city facts!

Or it's an indication of potential fanbase. Was that your first trip to Wembley? We take 40k+ to Wembley and The Millenium every time, if we got to the Premier League we'd sell out every single week at home without fail. It's frustrating that this city hasn't had a club to match it's potential in recent years.
