“He’s a different player now and has to show he wants to fight for the club.”

No he isn't. And yes, he certainly will fight for the Club. Literally.

To be fair he is different to when he last played for York. He's still a bellend but unlike last time he doesn't score goals anymore.

We're going to smash the league. Due to the speed of our calamitous fall.

Wtf happened to Manny Smith? Gone from being one of the best CBs in the division in 14/15 to getting released ahead of Fyfield at the end of 15/16?

I like Manny, good player and very brave decision for Mills to release him.

I can only think that Fyfield has been kept on ahead of him as he can play in a few different positions.

Mills will live or die by his decisions and signings this summer.

I honestly think if he doesnt assemble a side that finishes in the play offs at least, he will be gone next May.

Andy Bishop continues to lap up the Wrexham rejects, signing goal-shy, spider-phobic, drink-driving James Gray for Southport:

This is awesome. I'm going to be living pretty near Southport soon and was thinking of popping along to watch them in action. It's rather kind of Bish to be assembling a ragtag cast or Wrexham rejects for me to watch. Will make me feel right at home.

Genuinely, I think they've got themselves a good striker there.

I honestly think he will score goals for them. We will see I suppose

I agree. I didn't expect him to re-sign given his calamitous off field problems but he's a very decent player with time on his side. Great signing by Southport.

We've also signed Jack Higgins from Stalybridge Celtic for an undisclosed fee, scored 13 goals last year.

Yes, Hogan has gone. He plays CB or RB (mainly RB for us) and was very good until he got an injury. Lost his place and McNulty and Ihiekwe have formed a solid partnership since. He'll do well if he stays fit, a good signing by Gateshead methinks.

Played for us the season before he joined Tranmere as well. Good defender but seems to pick up more than his fair share of long term injuries. As said earlier, if fit then he's a good signing.

Other Gateshead news today - they have signed Reece Styche from us. Disappointed about this, shame to see him go just as he had broken into the team.

Gray is certainly a good signing for Southport. I'm surprised at how quickly all our released players are getting snapped up.

I think Gray will get atleast 15 next season if he can stay fit and play games. Good signing for Southport

Add Reece Styche to the Gateshead signings they look like a very average team at the moment

After signing 3 players?

We released so many players we were always gonna have to bring in a big number, so I'm glad to see him getting on with it early or we'd be in trouble.

Wes York and Reece Styche in particular aren't exactly stars
