Eastleigh have signed Adam Dawson. He's clearly got ability but there are major, major doubts over his fitness. His appearance record over the last 5 years is truly shocking and he's recently had an operation. Huge risk, but if he stays fit he'll no doubt be a good signing.

I'd be worried if I was Eastleigh. Dugdale and Dawson are, on the face of it, two very risky and probably poor signings that you are gambling might come good. It's true, they might, but I'd say it was 20:80 against either of them being a good signing for you.

Adam Dawson, well worth the risk in my opinion despite his injury issues. Best winger I saw in the Vanarama last season.
Let's hope Eastleigh sign Holness, him and Dugdale are the worst central defenders I've ever seen in Tranmere shirts.

He's a good left winger, runs at the opposition & scares full-backs with his pace, but a bit too inconsistent and goes missing in games.

I would've happily had him back at ours next season, so as he's young if he develops more consistency he should be a good player for you.

So much for being homesick and needing a move back to the north west. I guess the Vision has cured it.

Wasn't sure where to put this but Superb Simon Heslop has also confirmed he won't be signing a new contract for us.
Got to be honest, I won't lose any sleep over this. He was ok, he steadied the midfield slightly when we kept on being opened up, but we still conceded goals. I think it was like Taylor where people got sick of seeing Belford make mistakes that they just ignored Taylor's weaknesses.

So shall we expect him to follow Cox to Barrow?

Possibly. I don't know about Heslop and Torquay, did they let him go because Cox wasn't interested in keeping him or did they lose him? I know Torquay fans on here didn't rate him and neither did I really, especially not play offs quality in my opinion.

Cox signed him and then left us in September. We got rid of as many of Cox's signings as we could in January, and Heslop was one of those. Given the money Barrow have I think he'd be looking a lot higher than Heslop.

Cox seems hellbent on signing his ex players, so wouldn't be surprised. I think our midfield pair will be mainly Parry and Turnbull, but we're apparently building a squad of 22, with two in each position - still a vacancy in midfield I reckon.

Barry was crocked & rubbish when he was with us a little while back. Needs way too much time on the ball and always decides against 2 or 3 simpler passes before going for the Hollywood pass that 4 times out if 5 doesn't come off.
Someone on our forum described him receiving the ball and finally making a pass as akin to a dog turning round and round in circles before lying down. Perfect description.

Devs to Hartlepool though expected, is still a kick in the teeth for Dover supporters, and now they only need Raggett to join him and Payne and the suddenly it's a completely different team than the one who got to the play offs. If then someone God forbid comes in and wants to buy Miller the 14/1 odds for the league next might has well have another nought on it.
Equally worrying for the leagues part time brigade is the amount of players Braintee appear to be losing as well, is it becoming a case of the haves and have nots

Considering with the way CK plays, that much of the time we sort of by passed him he was really excellent. Despite a very cultured left leg am still not convinced if he is creative as the stats suggest, and IMO would be far more suited and certainly would see the best of Nik if he was playing in a side that got the ball down and played. Very composed on the ball though and undoubtedly takes a decent free kick, but would slip in the caveat that for every good he took it was accompanied by 2 that weren't, but we had some really big defenders to get on the end of them it was little wonder we scored from many set pieces which would probably have happned regardless of who made the delivery which is why I suggest it sort of dilutes his stats somewhat as does 6,7 penalties.
Will be a huge miss for us though, huge but we all wish him well and thanks for the last two years.
Interesting though is that it appears he is on a one year deal (can you confirm that?) which as a free agent, and if Hignett was as confident in him as his comments suggest I find a bit strange

Two year deal apparently. We do play it on the deck so probably a good fit for him.

I guess is does show the value of having one person take all your dead balls (fk, corners, penalties) throughout a game and season. You allow that player to build confidence and consistency, and just as importantly build up understanding with the players on the end of the dead balls. We had so much variation within and between games with dead balls taken by KMB, Frear, Sinclair, Wedbury, Carter, Kelly and sometimes Jennings and Parkin. We scored from a lot of dead balls but we also wasted plenty (having had the most corners in the league and one of the highest for fk).

Paul Turnbull now confirmed as having signed for Barrow - 1 year deal with a further year if set number of appearances are reached

Nothing new at all,..... whenever the smaller or part time teams do well the bigger/bankrolled sides always raid their players and money talks.
Describing Dover as small/part time is stretching the truth, hasnt your chairman spent £3m+ in the side in the last few years? Thats a bankrolled side compared with the true part time sides.

Cox is going OTT with Turnbull.

He's technically out of this world. He's captained Macclesfield for two or three seasons and to get him is one hell of a scoop,” said Cox of the former Stockport County and Northampton Town man, who rejected the offer of a new deal with Macclesfield and whose Barrow contract starts at the end of the month.

Very happy with the signing of Tilt! A very in demand defender that had been attracting interest from football league clubs. His build reminds me very much of Nathan Pond, the kind of physical centre half we've been missing for a while. Defence is looking good now providing Riley can stay fit. Get a solid keeper in and things are looking promising.

Pleased with the Tilt signing.

John Rooney has just been confirmed by the club too on a 1-year deal.
