Josh Walker is up there as one of my most hated Barnet players.

His attitude stinks, thought he was too good for Barnet so downed tools pretty much all last season as refused to play. He makes subtle digs on social media.

When all this has been said he’s not even that good, no better than this level which proves him going to Dagenham, he thought he was going into the football league.

Guess this signing was on the advice of John Still as he signed him for us.

I think he is EFL standard when he can be bothered but his attitude is clearly piss poor. After last summer's exodus it seemed like he had no appetite for the season and so decided to avoid having to play all year so he could avoid injury ahead of a move.

I see Ryan Boot has signed a new deal with Solihull despite getting released a few weeks back. Good retention for them. Never understood why they were releasing him in the first place.

Hamez Hanson - Shot ourselves in the foot here giving LJL an 18 month deal in Jan as Hanson is a much better player, but we don't want both of them. The one saving grace is that he's made of glass, so I'll focus on that. A fit Hanson would rip this division up alongside the right partner(s).

LJL - I'm a fan like Hurst, he does so much for the side, shame he can't score! And disagree with SoC, he is better than Hanson.
The only thing LJL has over Hanson is the fact that Hanson can't maintain fitness. There isn't a single thing LJL does better than Hanson for me. Hanson is stronger, reads the game better, works as hard, has a much much better touch, holds it up better, finishes better, brings players in better, far better in the air...I could go on. Really surprised you think LJL is better.

I will also have to disagree! Sure, Hanson is a better finisher and probably better in the air but he’s slower, less mobile and requires the ball played exactly to him or the game passes him by. LJL’s biggest strengths are holding it up and bringing other people in, which Hanson manages to do by lucky flick-ons. Also what’s the point in having Hanson if he can’t maintain fitness? Would rather have LJL for 40 games than Hanson for 20.

Lucky flick ons? I don't mind LJL but Hanson brings the ball down in ways LJL is incapable of and often distributes it back to midfield or out wide when LJL would have fallen over, been tackled or bundled over. I genuinely don't think Hanson is noticeably slower either? They're both slow. It's a common misconception that Hanson isn't that mobile, he gets about more than he is given credit for.

Definitely got a point on 20 games vs 40 games but I'd probably rather still have 20 games of Hanson and better options elsewhere.

Hanson is much better at holding it up and bringing players in, again very surprised that both of you don't see this. We're probably gonna have to agree to disagree on this!

Ultimately I think this is another Coke/Clifton debate and only one of them will (likely) be kept on, LJL in this case. We need a goal scorer regardless!

Sorry have to agree with Paul, I don't know what you see in Hanson, the only thing he is better at is heading the ball, if the ball is played to feet LJL is far better, and it's much easier to distribute and bring others into play with the ball at your feet than trying to head it on.

LJL is stronger and brings others into play more often, he also gets in better positions to score than Hanson, unfortunately he misses most of them. But Hanson's goalscoring record with us isn't much better than LJL if it even is, I haven't checked, and he's missed a couple sitters too.

Bradford fans told us when we signed him he will look good till November then get injured and disappear, and that's exactly what happened.

By stronger, I think you mean gym stronger? He has a better physique and bigger arms but that doesn't translate to the pitch. Hanson is more of a backstreet brawler. Hanson hardly ever gets tussled off the ball, whereas LJL perhaps more down to poorer balance than strength often does.

Like I said, we're going to have to agree to disagree here as there's no way I'm having this "LJL is better with the ball played to his feet", that's just madness. Perhaps you mean that LJL drops deeper and therefore receives the ball more. As a result, he probably gets it to other Town players more but in less dangerous positions, but he also loses the ball more.

You have a point on goalscoring positions actually, Hanson doesn't get into enough. However, if he'd had a proper #9 or a goalscorer alongside him that wouldn't be an issue for me.

I don't dislike LJL, by the way. I just think Hanson is much better. Hanson is Lumpaldinhoesque, whereas LJL is a pretty run-of-the-mill lower league cart horse.

So LJL drops back more to receive the ball and also gets in better goalscoring positions suggests he moves around a lot more and get involved a lot more.

That's Hanson problem he stays up there, expects the ball to be lumped up to him and then heads it on, more often than not to nobody, and what's more only for half a season as the rest he is injured.

Sorry I'd rather have LJL despite his constantly missed sitters and sometimes poor first touch. They both need a good goalscoring number 9 next to them and I believe LJL would be better.

Without checking I bet LJL has been involved in more goals since he arrived than Hanson in that time, whether that's scoring, assists or just being involved in the build up to it.

Hahaha yeah you've kind of got me there with that first paragraph, in all fairness. I don't know if I necessarily want LJL or any other striker dropping deep though. I like my strikers up top. We know LJL can work in a decent team, I just think it's a shame that Hanson hasn't been in a good team. And I still won't agree that LJL is better with his feet and hold up play and I think you're really downplaying how often Hanson helps us retain possession in the final third.

If he plays on a regular basis then handful who can score a few.

Problem will be getting him on the pitch. Came to us on a 2 year deal after spending the previous couple of years mainly injured, then spent the 2 year with us, mainly injured.

Odd signing for your lot. Firstly, the lad is a Stones fan - stood on the terraces for years with his friends and family before sitting on our bench. Nice kid but only got game time at the Stones because our GK was recalled by Luton. Would have been understudy to whoever is coming in to the Stones this season and most likely on peanuts. I don't think he's on peanuts at The Hive.

It is odd I agree, I am hoping he will be second choice, either behind Aymen Azaze who is a much taller young prospect but has been out injured, or another new signing.

There's some sort of headline play on words with the word amazing if he has a blinder in there somewhere.

Signed a lad called Frank Vincent, with his name like a 1920s London crime boss.

Young midfielder just released by Bournemouth. Season at Torquay the year they win the south, couple of League Two loan spells since.

Odd trajectory he's had, was in the Barnet U18s and wasn't even a regular starter before getting signed by Bournemouth after we released him at the end of his scholarship.

We had a Terry Taylor on loan from Wolves last year. East End brawler name for sure.

Can Torquay fans shed any light?

Height and weight are an issue but I'm sure he'll bulk up as he develops so the latter won't be an issue. Much like any young keeper really, he's an excellent shot stopper but there were a couple of heart in mouth moments when claiming crosses. With experience I'm sure he'll be far more effective at commanding his own box.

Edit: It's a good move for him going back into full-time football and with a pay rise too.

With all due respect I ain't reading that chief, give us a brief synopsis.

Are we actually being punished for our promotion here, fucking James Hanson, no thank you.

Get him on the pitch for 40 games and put the ball on his head and you have a winner.

Problem is you're lucky if you get 15 games and 2 goals out of him if the last 4 seasons are anything to go by.

Him and Green were our main two strikers the last two seasons both were relegation battles with probably less than 10 goals between them. Only positive is Hanson is better than Green!

These are the crappy signings we'd make in the past and people would spin it as a positive, hopefully it's just a shite rumour but if we're serious about signing over the hill dead legs players like James Hanson we may as well not bother this season.

Pools still think they are in Non League then, confirmed.

They'll pair him with Richard Pacquette.
