I dont think you'll find a Wrexham fan with too much bad to say about Carra, even though he's been a bit part squad player more recently. Hes Mr Versatile, and a good player to have in your squad. Not sure how many games he can manage, but tbh he strikes me as someone who keeps themselves fairly fit.

Also hes barely featured for us as a midfielder, despite coming to us after playing defensive mid at Crewe and Bury. Hes mostly been a full back, and occasionally in a back 3.

He did score this at Stoke when playing as a midfielder

We’ve just signed Mitch Brundle after his release by Dagenham. I’m not that convinced by him but maybe Daggers’ fans will put me right on this?

Funnily enough, someone put on our forum the same thing that I’d heard about Featherstone, but said we can’t announce it for a while because he’s got Covid.

Just signed a new two year deal with us.

Needs to be the furthest forward attacking midfielder to be of any use, any further back and he’s a passenger. Our form completely turned with him out of the side, he went on a late night Saturday rant after he scored a winner against kings Lynn two minutes after missing a penalty. Reckon he was furloughed for our late season impressive form but no official announcement on that front but was certainly bombed out along with a few others and not seen again in a daggers shirt after feb.

Decent enough signing if played in the right formation and position but comes across as slow and lazy for me.

Delighted to bring in Whitfield. When Notts fans on here were saying he’d been linked I was thinking I wish we were in for him and then out of nowhere we sign him.

Mate reckons we've beaten a few clubs higher up to this Whitfield. Can't say I know loads about him but the Torquay fans rate him and obviously they went well last season. I have to say the player I noticed most from them was Evans.

Hopefully 3-4 more of similar quality and we'll be set. Just need that extra push of quality and we'll be right up there.

Stockport Going for It™.

Again.
I didn't fancy us last year, I said play-offs and bump. I was unfortunatley correct.

We need to take it up a notch and the indications are we intend to.

Good signing for Stockport that. Suspect this is going to be a very busy week across the board.

I don’t know if we were for sure but I don’t think we’d be prepared to match the wages Stockport are currently paying, plus he supposedly wanted to go back up north, so there you go.

I think Whitfield was just Twitter stuff (albeit now picked up on by a Stockport journo). I mean where would we play him, apart from anything else? Don’t need to be paying big on another tricky attacking midfielder.

I should imagine someone high up at the club has told him this is the case. He would have said rumoured if he didn’t have a solid source.

Nothing to brag about though he’s chosen us because we pay well and like you say location. I don’t care who we have or haven’t beaten as long as the signing looks good and improves us and I believe Whitfield will do that.

I mean, it’s entirely conceivable we’d have tried to turn him into a right back or something tbf.

Phil Parkinson's at Wembley right now, taking his pick from the players on the pitch.

Glad we've got Rob Lainton between the sticks.

He's quality at this level. 13 assists for us in the first half of last season before he got injured. Can't fault his attitude either, he never stops running and pressing the opposition full back. Sometimes think he wastes a bit too much energy on this though.

Go on then Jerry - we’ve just signed Josh Umerah. I seem to recall him setting up the winner against us at the Vale last season.

1 goal in 26 doesn’t sound great.

Sounds like we might be announcing our first 2 signings later this week based on Wild said earlier in our local paper

Big and strong but utterly useless. To be fair he was only ever signed as back-up for Nelson and Wright but ended up being our only fit striker for a spell and simply wasn't up to it. Disappeared from the side for ages but then came back against Notts late in the season and really roughed up Ellis before being unfairly (in my view) sent off. If (and it's a big if) he could channel that aggressive performance more often he could be a real handful, just don't expect him to score goals.

Well we definitely are to you! But if as rumoured he wanted to go back to the Bradford area then 40 minutes to Stockport is a lot better than an hour and a half to Notts.

About what I expected going off the replies from Torquay fans too. Dropping to part time football I’d hardly expect any of those attributes to come to the fore with us but with Lafayette retiring, we did need another physical presence up front.

Like Pinner Stones, Matt Buse has signed from Torquay too.

I wouldn't get too excited about Ben Whitfield until you've actually seen if he's fit or not. As great as he was for us, he disappeared in March with a mysterious injury, came back in a brief spell in the Stockport match and then was injured again. But truly a great asset for this level, very disappointed he's not been able to find a club at a higher level.

As for Josh Umerah, sadly have to agree with Jerry, not yet good enough for this level. Also, referees seem to hate him. But I do think he will improve if he gets a chance to play every game. He seems to be a confidence striker that would do well playing off a fast, clinical player. (He is guaranteed to score against us next season.)

Edit: Matt Buse, really? That is a surprise. Hard worker, can pull off a blinder every once in a while, but nowhere near up to National League standard in my view. Expected he'd go to Tiverton or something.

Sounds like he came back too early from injury because he was desperate to help you get promoted.

Third signing of the evening Nicola Tavares, formerly with Crystal Palace.

Apparently Barnet were after both Tavares and Umerah.
