We have signed Dawson. He's out but he's back soon.
I don't think we've signed him yet, although that's probably the intention come the transfer window.

As for Tomlinson, if it's true, I'm underwhelmed.

We have signed Achilli Campion.

Loves to backheel, apparently.

Did well for us especially in his first season but didn't get as many last season mainly as he played wide too much for my liking.
Can be a bit of a bugger and can get booked a lot, more in his first season than second.
Struggled at Grimsby I believe.

Didn't score, but split the opinion of the fans. Some just looked at his lack of goals, while others thought he brought certain merits to the team (more physical than Amond, less injury prone than JPP, etc) and was a worthy signing. After his last match for us, Hurst was asked if we would be extended his loan deal and his response was that he wouldn't mind doing so but that a stumbling block would be that Martin Allen wants him to be playing the majority of first team football during any loan spells. If he is on his way to Tranmere, it will be interesting to see if Brabin plays him over the likes of Mangan, GTF and Margetts. More than a few Town fans are of the opinion that this was a major factor in Bogle and Amond being benched for those few weeks recently.

If that's the case, he'll mainly be played out wide. Dawson and Mekki currently out injured, the former unlikely to return for another month, while Jackson is a bit raw. Mangan and GTF aren't fully fit yet and Margetts hasn't been given much of chance by Brabin.

Don't know why. He's not far off a 20 goal man over the course of a season.

Out wide as in 4-4-2 i.e. a proper winger? If so, waste of time. Never in a million years will that work.

Brabin just signing everyone he can regardless of whether he needs them or not? It's like his Luton days all over again!

I like Tomlinson, every time I've seen him he's seemed a fairly limited but hardworking player who has a knack of being in the right place at the right time. Can't knock his goalscoring record at Lincoln. He'd be a decent signing for most teams in this league.

That's interesting if true as there has been much speculation that he just hasn't settled down south, so he's being loaned back up north, rather than trying to get him out playing to get his fitness levels up. Could be though that we want him playing to make a permanent move more likely.

I'm glad we've not resigned Tomlinson, I've a feeling we would've tried.

The only worry with all these signings is that it seems reminiscent of Micky Adams tactic, lose a few games, panic sign a ton of players on loan, lose any cohesion between the squad and go from bad to worse. I also can't see Tomlinson starting ahead of GTF, Mangan or Norwood.

Mauro Vilhete has joined Boreham Wood on loan for 3 months. I've lost count now of the number of ex-Barnet players that they have. I think with Vilhete (although not an ex) it is up to 7.

Sad really to see him go and play for another team, Allen seems to have never really rated him and almost let him leave last year.

We have signed James Dayton on a free transfer after he was released by Oldham in the summer.

He's a winger who can play on both sides. I know nothing else about him.
how has he done so far? I thought he may have gone back to the SPL or League two at worst, im amazed he has dropped down to the conference.

Chester have signed Ben Gordon and Luke Woodland

Ben Gordon is another player Tranmere have had on loan, there's been so many loan players at Tranmere over the last 5 seasons and Ben is one of the many which didn't shine.

Alex Simmons joins Boston United for a month. He looks a half decent prospect and has done an ok job so far this season but needs some proper games.

Kyle Wootton, striker, for a month from Scunny. Opinion on him Bottega Don ?

Seems weird that we've let a 19 year old go and brought another 19 year old in. Unless he's more of a target man and just cover for Rhead.

He looks very promising. A bit raw at this level of course but at Conference level he should be better. He is quite tall and is quite good in the air. Hoping he gets some game time.

Woodland sounds quite a promising signing, Oldham fans seem to think he did reasonably well for them on loan. Can only assume after signing Gordon that Burr intends to push Hunt in to midfield.

I liked Ben Gordon for us last season, thought he was harshly bombed out to be honest.

Sammie Szmodics has signed on loan for Braintree. He's a good player, could arguably be deserving of a more regular place in our eleven but for our options there being quite strong at the moment. Not the most technically gifted, but good enough, will chip in with plenty of goals and has the energy of a Duracell bunny. Should be an excellent signing in the Conference.
