How long is this transfer taking? Thought a fee was confirmed a month ago.
It's the most expensive transfer ever so it was always going to take awhile, but sorting out Raiola's percentage and Adidas getting massively involved made it an extra tedious saga.

Two weeks ago. Phrase your questions better.

There's nothing wrong with the phrasing. Had there been a subordinate clause you might have had a case.

You said "When was he done two weeks ago?"

You asked for the time, so I told you. Two weeks ago. When I said you phrased the question poorly I assumed you wanted a more helpful answer.

Pogba done. £89m.

Am I surprised by this transfer? The answer is no.

'Cash in hand'chester United have proven once again that they're nothing more than a big spending club, who care more about sponsorship deals and big names rather than attractive football. In this age, 'Disgraced across the land'chester United don't even need to play Pogba to get what they wanted out of him... publicity.

That's right. While any other team would have gotten Pobga far cheaper 'What we just can't stand'chester United relished throwing money around in the hope the big transfer finally got their club some attention.

I mean, they won't get attention from winning anything.

For the money they spent they could have got Andy Carroll, Dejan Lovren, Lazar Markovic and Mamadou Sakho. Makes you think.

On the other side of Manchester, Stones has gone for 47m. So that European registration wasn't quite so random after all.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Presumably needed to be done before the CL deadline last night. Why they didn't announce it at the time, I don't know. They were probably too busy finding a grime artist to lay down a backing track for his dabbing video.

Hang on... Wrong club.

At least City do actually have a centre back now.

City will be hoping his form last season was a blip and he can get back to the quality that made Chelsea notice him. Although the whole Everton team was shit to be fair to him.

Pep likes a ball playing centre back. Hopefully a good signing. Certainly a much needed one.

He's certainly one of the best defenders around for being comfortable with the ball at his feet, too much so at times. Hopefully for England's sake he's used properly and is the automatic defensive starter.

Otamendi £32 million, Mangala £32-40 million, Stones £47.5 million. If you throw shit at a wall, eventually some of it will stick. I reckon Stones will actually be worth the money in the end, I put most of his issues last season down to Martinez, the upside he's shown is worth the money to a club like City.

In the current market, I don't think Pogba is a reach at £89 million at all. He's phenomenal, plays like no other player I've seen before. He can play box to box, thread a pass through the eye of a needle, beat wingers with sheer pace, perform obscene tricks, take set-pieces, play with both feet and score from anywhere. Mourinho's biggest task is actually figuring out what the fuck to do with him. I say let him roam free.

If you ignore that United sold Pogba only to buy him back four years later for an additional £87m (after laughing about it for a bit of course), what has been spent on him isn't that ridiculous in today's market. Which is more a reflection on the market than anything else. Bale went for £85m when the market was more sensible than now, and I'd say Pogba is potentially the better buy in the long term.

It's worrying where these prices are going though. It won't be long before we will break the £100m barrier, it's already happened with Euros with this very deal.

Well yeah, I am ignoring it, because it's not relevant to the actual price paid for him. If Real Madrid bought him for £89 million, the same logic applies, it's actually not bad value at all. The money for Bale seemed crazy at the time, but he's arguably been worth it already and Pogba might be just as good already at 23.

In terms of whether £89m for Pogba is value for money, then it's not relevant. In terms of whether it's value for money for Manchester United specifically, then it is, or at least partially. Back in 2011-2012 They could have loaned him out, potentially saving themselves nearly £90m. Obviously, there are no guarantees he would be the player he is now but it's safe to say it was a big mistake to let him go.

However, as has already been said, £90m to a football club like United is pocket change. Which is obscene but that's how it is for the biggest clubs these days.

You all need a break from football if you believe £89m isn't an obscene amount of money for a football player.

Mata £37million, Felliani £27million, Pogba £89million. If you throw enough shit at a wall, eventually some of it will stick...
