I’m struggling today guys.

I’m a stay at home dad (due to my mental and physical health) so I’ve now found myself home schooling a 9 year old and a 5 year old which hasn’t been that tough today so far. I’m reasonably intelligent so I can deal with what they’re needing help with.

I love my kids to death but I will admit I enjoy the few hours break I get from them during the day as it allows me to recharge and try and get things done around the house as well as allowing me to rest when I need to.

My personal life has also been a total train wreck for the last 3 months or longer.

I’m proper lost, confused and not coping so well these last few days.

Don’t want to burden any of you but I just needed a little vent.

What kind of home-schooling you doing? I've not got kids myself but I've seen a lot of advice, the general gist seems to be not feeling pressured to replicate the sort of learning they're doing at school, instead do activities with them, or use your own experience as a learning tool for them.

First, thanks for all the kind words. Made me feel a little better knowing I’m not totally alone in the world.

They’ve come home with a lot of work books so we’ve done a little bit of work in those mixed in with some activities on the iPad which are more game based but still incorporate learning. Just finished up with a bit of colouring and some word searches. I haven’t thrown too much at them and just let them have plenty of breaks because it’s new to all of us.

We’ve also been out for a quick walk with the dogs as I’m very concerned about their physical health suffering with them not being at school.

I suffer from a few mental issues of my own as well - depression, anxiety and stress - though I believe that in my case, the latter two disorders are closely related to the main thing (depression).

Thankfully I'm not struggling at the moment but I'm well aware everything could change in a jiffy. After all, the first time it dawned on me that there could be something wrong with me was while I was enjoying a glass of wine with an ex gf of mine on a very pleasant Sunday afternoon many moons ago. I go from cracking jokes to this sudden feeling of hopelessness in one second flat.

Hang in there Dave. You're certainly not alone.

My general problem tends to be I get bored easily and if I have no one talk too then I end up wasting loads of money on ringing chat lines so god help us if we go in luck down and cant leave the house.

I've been better of late as over the last year jve started playing a few play by mail football games(popular in the 1990s)which pass quite abit of time for me talking to people on the forums or whatsapp.

If I didn’t have a kid I think I’d be fine. I mean I’d be a bit bored but I’d fill my non-work time with sex, the PS4 or YouTube videos. But having a three year old daughter in the house while both my wife and I are trying to work is a new challenge which is taking some getting used to.

Which plane sim valefan 16?
X Plane or one of the MSFS versions?
The former is helping to keep me sane already - flying various models to various destinations (out of EGTE of course)!

Easier said than done but just enjoy having your kids around and feck any sort of structured homeschooling. Far too much pressure on something you didn’t choose to do. The whole country is in a heightened state of anxiety and all completely normal feelings. Just don’t consume too much of the doom and gloom news and just ask for help when you need it.

As a children’s critical care nurse, part of me would absolutely love to be bored at home tbh.

P3Dv4... loving all the free add ons in the stay at home settings! Mainly out of my local EGNX (wife works there it’s that close!)

Spent 100s on it then Microsoft dangle the 2020 which means starting all over again!

And then lockdown will become stricter and longer. Their own fault.

It's always the idiots who ruin everything in this country. Normally all it does is mean things like us England fans getting banned or treated worse when we go away, but this time it's forcing us all to extreme measures and more importantly helping spread a potentially lethal disease. Why can't a disease be developed that only thick selfish c*** can catch?

Massive respect to all those NHS staff battling this, some even without the right protective gear ffs. absolute heroes the lot of them.

Luckily (or unluckily, depending on how you view it) I'm still working so it's business as usual with a routine and structure to my days.

The main area of concern is London and travel on the tube in particular. Is it beyond the authorities to set up a system where on your travel card you have to register to be able to travel in the busiest areas? You could allot time slots etc to avoid congestion.
There are a lot of financial workers in this country on silly money( I have seen a tax adviser asking for £800 an hour) none of which are essential workers and they would be better employed picking vegetables in Lincolnshire for example as we have a shortage apparently due to brexit.
£800 an hour is obscene for someone trying to starve the country of revenue, I would rather pay the tax personally if I was lucky enough to be in that position.

FGR have put out a statement stating that the club have taken the decision to furlough all staff. Full time staff will have protection from the wage support scheme. Hope that all our part time staff get looked after in some way too, although not much on that so far. Would expect all loan players to immediately return, not sure what this means for a lot of the squad whose contracts expire in June as doubt this scheme will cover them beyond then if football hasn't restarted.

The club will go into hibernation and there will be minimal updates on any of the clubs media channels.

I see China is relaxing it’s lockdown almost 2 calendar months from imposing it - Jan 21st Wuhan was locked down.

Obviously, they have been much more aggressive in their imposition and, tbh, I’m not entirely sure it’s being relaxed just to get their economy going and stealing an economic march on the rest of the world.

Those invisible mega rich who have seen their fortunes decimated by the collapse of stock markets will be eager to trample the rest of us into the dust to regain their losses.

I'm finding working from home difficult. It seems to be much more challenging at home and I'm struggling to adapt and to separate work and home and switch off.

My brother is off with 80 per cent pay and I feel that he is the lucky one right now!!
