Michael Gove has threatened to quit government if we vote stay? Surely that only helps the remain side?

I'm currently at a Toronto Bluejays game, and on the big screen they made a point to welcome a group of refugees from Syria, which got a round of applause from the fans here. And we have Farage stood in front of a poster reminiscent of something from 1930s Germany.

Have Boris Johnson been paid by the Kremlin for years to do this shit? When did the EU start to expand into the old Eastern Block?
That's what so weird about the British tabloid papers and the British public. You, their readers, get burned time and time again, you all know they're lying through their teeth just to sell papers, and you only acknowledge how sick they are when their complete void of journalistic ethics and human decency hits you personally (The Sun is still not sold in Sheffield, is it?). You'd think, that you'd have gotten the point after News of the World came crushing down on your arse, and yet you still froth at the mouth every fucking time you see them curling headlines!!! You're like a junkie, that knows you shouldn't fix, and therefore you keep bloody doing it. "Oh, that is so good, it's probably true! Yeah, yeah, Brussels is corrupt and rotten to the core and uncontrollable migration is all their fault, 'cause The Daily Mail says so! God, this is so good, I'm climaxing!!! Who cares if it ain't true?"

Okay, look. I'll leave you lot alone now. Just take a good hard thought about the whole thing, seriously consider pros and cons, be critical of your sources, and just make the right bloody decision tomorrow. That's all I'm asking.

This is my last entry:

I'll just be glad when this referendum is over, we've voted to remain and it all blows over...[/naivety]

Still wish John Barnes re-released his rap in World in Motion with the refrain changed to "Remain In for England. EN-GER-LUND". Only thing that would defo turn the xenophobic tide at this point.

Could the weather have an impact on the result? I believe that rain generally leads to lower turnout, which could favour leave...

Edit: Turns out it's only going to rain in East Anglia, which must be one of the staunchest pro-leave areas, so maybe that's good for remain.

I agree it could favour leave. No doubt they have been telling people that the rain is as a result of pesky foreigners and a vote to leave will bathe us in sunshine for eternity.

Seriously, I can't see it having an effect to be honest. Slightly lower turnout but not materially so.

I'm away with work so I'm entrusting my wife to vote on my behalf. She comes from a racist family so I wouldn't put it past her to switch my vote!

As we move inside the final 24 hours the bookies would suggest it to still be tight, but Remain should have enough. (1/4 v 3/1)

The status quo effect will carry Remain over the line I suspect (and have suspected all campaign). But I am hopeful that the size of the Leave vote and the tightness of the polls all campaign (and similar murmurs of discontent elsewhere), might just give the ruling classes here and in Brussels a warning with regards to the direction of EU travel and might just provoke the odd piece of reform for the better.

I guess we'll only know by looking back in about 10 years time.

I think we're heading for a Vote Leave. Not sure the UK is going to be a pretty place for immigrants in the next few years.

Also a vote leave is unlikely to lower the levels of immigration into the UK either. We already take in a whole load of non-EU immigrants every year. The government could have stopped them whenever they like. They haven't.

It's been a terrible referendum and I think few people will get what they really want after it.

I think it'll be remain 54:46

The controls we have on non-EU immigration is ridiculous. It's such an arbitrary 'first come first served' method. Had a lecturer at university for 3 years who is now moving back to the states because of visa issues, how is he not a benefit we want to keep in this country!?

I think it'll end up being a remain vote, but hopefully it is a big turnout for leave voters, to, if nothing else, to send a massive message to the EU that a large part of this country (and possibly other countries) are NOT happy with the way the EU is run, and the way things are done. Hopefully if we end up remaining we can push for some massive reforms, because if things stay the way they are, I can see us being here again in 10-20 years time with another referendum, and I don't think that will be as positive an outcome for the EU.

I do hope we leave obviously, otherwise I wouldn't be voting that way, but I can see it being a narrow remain. 53-47 or something along those lines.
