Watch all the glory hunters and part-timers come out of the woodwork for our game with Everton. Makes me sick.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
My only real disagreement to the price increase is it has no financial gain to the club because what will happen is you lose 1-2,000 off your league gates at that time as fans ditch that game and pick the cup game.

plus it is a slap in face to working people who have had incredibly tough spending decembers to face a huge cost early January.

but i suppose if it was at Anfield people would pay same costs to get in.

I see your point, but at least the club benefits from it financially. I know that's not the only factor but silver linings are good.

I was taking the piss. I've been to one game this year and about 3 in the last 12 months yet have booked a weekend in Liverpool for our 3rd Round tie.

We've apparently sold over 1,000 tickets for our game at Everton. Vive la glory hunters.

memo to all the burglars in Dagenham and Redbridge.....go fill your boots
There's not that much to steal in Dagenham!
On a serious note, is this D & R's biggest ever cup tie match? The only big teams I can recall them ever playing were Charlton Athletic and Ipswich Town over a decade ago when both were Premier League sides.

Yep, I think so. Charlton was probably the biggest so this will surpass that.

Can't wait, been waiting for a big tie for ages.

It's great for Dags, they should enjoy it regardless of how many glory hunters jump on the bandwagon. Fully deserved. :-)

Pompey have made the decision not to take a full 4.5k allocation at portman road leaving around 1000 of us with out tickets. Really pissed me off and the "risks" of loosing money should have been taken in this case. I've done some stupid trips around the country for pointless games missing only 7 games in the last two seasons and am left without a ticket.
Modern football at its finest when a ground will be half empty on match day and fans are unable to purchase a ticket.

Around 1,500 tickets sold. We're fucking big time.

I'm really looking forward to this now. A new chapter for us (or at least re-reading an old one) and a massive game. I can't see Everton taking it too seriously so I hope we give it a good go and who knows, we might cause a shock.

I'm treating the wife to a night in Liverpool too so everyone's a winner!

I absolutely can't wait. Some of the utter shite we've been served up in the past few years we deserve this day out. Not only do we get to visit a massive club like Everton and a historic ground such as Goodison, but we get a night out in Liverpool as well. So excited for it.

1,500 for your biggest ever game is pretty fucking poor. Even non league clubs like Crawley and that take 6,000

I know it is very poor when you think about it, but it's alright as they'll be back where they belong pretty soon.

Constantly. But this isn't the time or the place.
well I don't see a better place..

I also don't see how my original observation warrants such a tirade of abuse

Oh haven't you heard?

If you now make one single negative remark about another club then you are straight away regarded as a wum by the community. Banter or honest truth is not appreciated by others.

Well ahem, back to the topic of conversation, we play Yeovil and it's at Blackpool who if I remember their fans were a few week ago plotting to get our match abandoned by invading the pitch at half time. I've not heard anything since then so maybe the idea just lost it's interest? Have you heard anymore of this Shoddy?

at least for Daggers that 1,500 is probably all going to be their fanbase and not the hangers on, I suppose it hasn't inspired floating fans due to fact them fans can go to West Ham, Arsenal or Tottenham.

Everton fans will still turn up in decent numbers so you'll get a 30,000 plus gate.

For all ours is frankly the least attractive fixture to the neutrals and will have the lowest crowd (going for less than 2,000) it is probably the most vital of all the 3rd round games for the 2 sides involved, with us close to a promotion push but just 2-3 players short and Yeovil struggling in a relegation battle desperate for some new additions and a guarantee of at least £70,000 maybe up to £300,000 for the winner (depending on draw) a win for either in this game could well turn their season.

love cup football so I couldn't care less if it were Yeovil or Manchester United.....am going.

biggest worry I think now for our game is postponement..............rain all week at Blackpool

I've only been looking at the websites that you've probably been looking at too. Discussion does seem to have stopped, on BHS it was really only a couple of fans who wanted to antagonise us, they claimed to be speaking for a large number of protesters who would try and get our game abandoned but we don't know if they were.

One point at Blackpool fan who was against disrupting this match raised was that if the police decided the threat of trouble meant there needed to be a greater police presence. Presumably as with at Deepdale and Ewood, we're the ones paying the police just like we would at a proper home game, so would be out of pocket to deal with Blackpool fans insolence.

It's pretty simple - hangers-on are enthused by a trip to Old Trafford in a way that they are not by a trip to Goodison Park. I also get the impression that Daggers don't have a floating fanbase beyond their hardcore support.
But yeah UTS is a weird poster.
