We're being linked with a few appointments, Dean Smith, Justin Edinburgh, Jimmy F Hasselbaink, are the more reasonable names in the frame. Some of the more fanciful ones are Pearson, Di Matteo, Moyes and Rodgers.

Personally, would love to have Rodgers here, but unless he really bought into the "project" I can't imagine a reason he'd come here.

Di Matteo is potentially a good shout. Local and has been linked before. Would be happy with that.

Looks like Paul Lambert is going to be the new manager of Blackburn.

Good appointment that. Guessing we'll go somewhere completely left field again (supposedly interviewing the Swansea assistant.)

Everywhere reporting that Pearson to Fulham is close, but Steve Clarke is slowly moving clearer as favourite by the bookies.

Would be surprised if Clarke went to Fulham. He has been backed by the owners over the summer and he now has his players and his backroom staff in place. Going to Fulham would be a sideways step.

He is now the favourate at 1/3. Maybe Fulham are offering him a flat on the banks of the Thames in Kew.

Completely, fucking weird this one.

Must be being offered some serious money and i'm not sure he's worth it.

An absolute bottlejob if he does go.

Agreed. Can't understand it myself but according to the local journo tweets it looks like a done deal.

I'm sad and shocked to say this, but from what I understand it looks like Steve Clarke is on his way to Fulham. #readingfc

So, the Thais' give him a big budget, a new training ground and lavished praise on him in the media.

Yet he walks away..... strange one.

Just after Paul Lambert goes to Blackburn too, who would probably have been my pick.

Not many options left...

I would want Phil Parkinson, but only after he proves himself in this division, not lower leagues.

I reckon we'll stick with some backroom staff for a month or so, see how it goes, before eventually hiring some foreign manager no one has heard of (probably from Portugal as the owners have links there apparently).

No idea who would take temporary charge. I'm assuming all of Clarke backroom team would piss off with him.

That's absolutely bizarre. Must be being offered some serious money, and it's a big risk on Fulham's part.

Bit of a smack in the face for Reading baring in mind they backed Clarke quite a bit in the summer transfer wise.

Financially wise the backing wasn't too much (net spend of about £1m) but it's all of the other stuff, we completely reshaped our backroom staff over the Summer, clearing out lots to bring in all of Clarke's. Also lost a lot of long serving players.

Problem is that this season we have definitely pushed the boat out just for this year with lots of loan signings to attempt promotion. Looks like we're going to have to find a new manager with all of the drama that causes which will probably set us back further in a one off season where we could do without that the most.

According to Sky Fulham in talks with Steve Clarke over vacant head coach position after talks with Nigel Pearson break down.

Pearson is a fucking nutcase, so they should be delighted they broke down.
