1-1 draw with Gillingham. Fair result on the balance of play, wasn't a great game. Gillingham stopped us from playing first half, not sure how Kashket didn't make it 1-0, open goal from about a yard out and he managed to turn it over the bar. With pretty much our only attack of the half we went 1-0 up, Roberts kept the ball alive, laid it back to Earley who delivered a great cross and Rose put away a lovely header. Gillingham levelled before the break from a set piece, cross from deep and their centre back rose highest to power his header home.

Second half we were the better side, that said Gillingham could have gone in front, threatening again, this time from a corner, the header was glanced wide of the back post. After this there were half chances for Norris, Bostwick and Gilbey but the best chance of the second half fell to Roberts, Rose flicked on a long ball and Roberts found himself one on one, his effort beat the keeper but was just wide of the post.

Didn't play well, conditions definitely played a part, but Gillingham worked hard and deserved something from the game. We might have had a penalty for a foul on Gilbey second half, would have to look at it again but we've had a few decisions in our favour this seasons so probably just balancing out.

Stockport thugs at it again. At least we were already beating them this time, so absolutely no arguments about the result this time.
To be fair though sounded like we got away with a couple near the end, Green booted the ball away when on a yellow and the ref just had a word and then apparently they should’ve had a penalty when Taylor’s arm whacked someone in the box.
But after some of the shit refs we’ve had giving stuff against us this season I don’t give a toss! :woo:

South London is Amber and Chocolate!

1-0 win for Sutton today at Plough Lane. For a 1-0 we were relatively comfortable I don’t think our goal was significantly threatened in the 2nd half.

First win in 6 and first away win of the season. Up the U’s

It’s not since Challinor took over, it’s been like this since our half wit director of football took over and tells managers players should never be fined. We’ve had shocking discipline since he booted out Gannon and one of the bust ups behind the scenes was over this exact issue.

We’re just not a likeable side, Madden as captain putting his head in towards the referee to get a yellow because he didn’t agree with the ref. Literally pea brained.

I don’t think we’re dirty, we have the lowest yellow cards in the league but we make stupid ducking decisions each week and it’s never stamped out whether that is under Challinor or Rusk. It’s going to be a long frustrating season as the reality is we’re not a very good side and love to give away soft goals and reds.

Ref was terrible and Grimsby got away with some at the end, but can’t complain. We were crap and Grimsby are streets ahead of us right now.

Our best most complete performance of the season.

We’ve really stepped it up these last 2 games. Amazing considering the players we have missing. Off to celebrate into the night.

We’ve got super Paul Simpson
He knows exactly what we need
Feeney at the back
Patrick in attack
We are staying in the football league

I'm a fan of Watt, but he was hopeless today. Think the stick he got from our fans got to him.

As for us, that's an excellent result and as you say, we should've had another two or three easily. Rode out the storm after we scored but comfortably the better side before the goal and in the second half. Salford are wank.

They were absolutely dreadful, weren't they? No idea what they were trying to achieve with their gameplan at all. We could have subbed Harry Lewis at halftime.

Very tense game with the Cobblers, they started very quickly but we managed to get back into the game and put pressure on them, both teams had a few good half chances in that first half.

The red card changes the game, I thought it would hinder us somewhat because we're not the most ruthless team in the final third, all the pressure is then on us to win the game and with Northampton able to sit in and force us wide it was always going to take wonder/lucky goal for us to score. Burge didn't have a save to make second half, Vigs had to make a good save from Pinnock when they broke away - which is a risk we always play with.

The red card looked a clumsy yellow to me, with both players going for the ball, but the ref was right in front of it and must've thought the challenge was high and/or dangerous.

Better point for Northampton than ourselves, I think in the end we had the mentaity of do not lose because we stopped taking risks in the final third.

Fair result overall, frustrating for ourselves.

Its never a red mate, ruined a good game. Take the point after that.

Fair play mate, was a bit worried about this one. Hurst has got us extremely well drilled and it's paying off on the road.

All joking aside, I wouldn't say you're a dislikeable side really. We've obviously got major BEEF with Challinor and Madden is a tool but other than that I like your squad. Shame you're struggling now but I think you'll grow into the season. I suspect you're gonna land a decent #9 in the window and maybe a few others and kick on.

Solid win, with the penalty and some of the donny keepers saves it really could have been 5 or 6.

Donny looked more limited than I expected to see of them, given their league position and that they did put together a recent good run but I know what their fans are angry about if that's their regular performance.

Good prep for a big game against Orient. Seems a good time to be playing them too

Got the hammering we deserved and it could have been so much worse, how Mcshittery survives that performance will be beyond me
The Grim Reaper* has harvested 3 managers this season - I expect he is licking his lips looking at the fixture on 12th November...

(*Apparently more managers have been sacked after losing to Grimsby than any other team)

Four straight away wins for us. According to Twitter if we beat Grimsby next week it'll be the first time we've won 5 in a row since the 1930s or something.

Weird game, completely dominated it. Had something like 80% possession and scored the shittiest goal of the day. We create very few chances for all the fanny football we play. Colchester looked terrible but could still have nicked a point.

Only our 3rd win against them in 15 games.
Saw the goal it was like a worldy, But the opposite end of the spectrum.

Wellens said he didn't think it was a red either. As you say it ruined the game, had it stayed 11v11 we'd have had a better chance of winning. We're still learning how to break down teams who sit back against us.

Ref was desperate to send someone off, I was just surprised it was a Stockport player, diabolical challenge though. Green maybe a bit lucky but it’s not like he launched the ball away, it went about 5 yards.

Deserved the win, absolutely clinical and a superb away side.

You were poor today but most boards still wouldn't sack a manager given your league position and form, are yours like most? I can totally see why the fans would want him gone.
Our board are prone to giving too much latitude to managers but we’ve been treated to that type of performance since February 2020, nothing is improving, no direction, style or clue. He’s been given a lot of leeway due to the appalling amount of injuries we’ve had but your manager showed what you can do with that problem, ours just blames everything and one except himself, enough is enough

Think both teams would have fancied winning after the red. Gave us a bit of backs to the wall spirit - from the away end to the pitch. Quite quiet today at Brisbane road I thought? Good crowd though

I thought Doncaster were ok first half. We played well but it was pretty even and tight at 0-0. Forced a really good save from Holy. It took a good edge of the box strike to break the deadlock.

Second half we were much the better team however.

Our away form is absolutely fucking ridiculous.

Speaking of away records, we’ve just won our 4th away game on the trot - the first time since 1985.

Next weeks fixture will be an interesting one.

Even game between us and Stevenage, quite how Kashket didn’t put us 1-0 up in the first half I’ll never know (managed to put the ball over the bar from about a yard out), Stevenage missed a chance from a 1 on 1 which just went the wrong side of the post. Both teams could have won if they were more clinical, so in all a draw is a fair result and puts us now 5 games unbeaten despite our lowly league position.

Surprised Stevenage weren’t better to be honest, not sure if they had an off day, but there was very little between the sides. Not surprised by the antics of Evans and Raynor on the sideline, pair of obnoxious wankers with nice Mr Evans picking up a yellow after the final whistle.

Elsewhere BELEAGUERED Carlisle somehow won, which won’t mean anything of course because we all know they’re down already.

What an absolutely dreadful performance from mansfield, another diabolical performance which walsall really should have got something from the game.

Too slow, no attacking attacking options, akins too isolated

To take into account we’re yet to lose at home, and we’re unbeaten in 7, but we need to up our game.

Improvements needed mansfield, get working!

Was a strange game but will take 3 deserved points against a bogey team who did little to impress. Another 8K plus crowd as well.
