Caught up with our highlights... didn’t miss much it seems.

The highlights are either headers from corners or three half chances from throw ins... although shame that chance second half from our throw fell to Smudge who put it over when we’ll placed.

Four clean sheets in a row and 9 let in over 14 games... 3 of which were in one game is huge progress, our bad run saw us letting in a crazy amount of goals but we hardly give teams chances let alone goals under DC so that’s pleasing and something to build on next season.

Think we probably should be ahead on balance.

Should really be 2 nil Colchester, we have been awful aside from the goal and the change that led to the corner from which we scored.

Walsall without Rory Holden is Non-league standard.

Be typical that we go and put in probably our best performance of the season and get a slimmer of hope we could save ourselves only for it to be crushed a few hours later.

As long as we don't try and sit back and see this one out then I think we'll win. If we sit in and start to invite pressure though then I doubt we'll hold out.

We don't have Rory Holden which means we are incapable of retaining possession and having sustained attacks, you'll be fine.

After a good first half, we've reverted shape due to injury and started looking to waste time already which doesn't bode particularly well.

Huge result - but must avoid defeat against Southend in midweek. Don't like the look of our final three games.

Huge win that and probably the death knell for the bottom two, certainly if Colchester beat Southend Tuesday then it’s probably all over.

Decent draw away at carlise 4 clean sheets in a row and 7 unbeaton. Barrow will be pleased to know that we will be fielding a weakened team on Tuesday as our manager has said he wants look at a few other players so people like pope, Cullen, amoo, mckirdy, burgess who haven't played much should play may even put a young lad Tom Scott in goal.

Pope used to play for us so that might not be good news....

Sure. He was born in Stoke on Trent. But he was made in Holker Street.

Pope's crap now compared to what he used to be so he's nothing to worry about. Basically it's a reserve fixture for us now so no celebrating like you have won the world Cup when you beat our reserves. The side we play Tuesday will be as weak as what we put out against you earlier in the season when we had half our squad out injured.

I don’t think it will be personally, defence should be the same (mainly as the reserve defenders are crocked) so should still be solid.

Pope still has more goals than Theo league wise doesn’t he? So if he does start I’m fine with that. We will make a couple of changes I’d think but nothing to overly weaken us. Worrall back at wing back if Monty is knocked and Burgess or McKirdy in the middle.

I think DC will want the unbeaten run to carry on regardless. Surely we won’t see Whitehead so a massive upgrade on the Boxing Day line up haha!

I think burgess pope Cullen and amoo will all start. Not sure if Scott the keeper will. I think if mckirdy features it will be from the bench. The 3 centre backs will definitely play unless he decides give olagunju a game instead of using him as a 93rd minute substitute. Think Robinson has 5 goals this season and pope 3 so neither of them are pulling up any trees. Rodney the only striker to come out of this season with any credit but he has been low on goals recently. Hopefully Whitehead won't play for us ever again but he did randomly get thrown into a game about 5 weeks ago so you never know he may feature.

Think he will just make a couple per game now to see the unsure ones, players like Pope or McKirdy who if they want a new deal need to put performances in.

With Barrow not safe yet mathematically we should go all out in this one to win for the integrity of the league, if they beat our best side then we’ve at least done as we should out of respect for the bottom 2.

Strange how football makes you feel. Going into the game against Exeter Tuesday gone I'd have been happy with two points from that game and today's at Orient. Despite the win on Tuesday I'd have still wanted a draw today so you come out the other end of the two games being slightly disappointed after today's defeat, despite having more points than you were originally hoping for.

Barrow only need 1 point to stop up I reckon and have 5 games to do it so should easily achieve that. Regarding putting out a strong team to respect the other teams at the bottom it hasn't stopped us before playing fringe players and putting in shite performances when we have nothing to play for I.e. 5 nil away at Cambridge 5 nil at home to Walsall 2 1 home loss to Fleetwood 1 nil away loss at Barnet. If Cullen plays we already know we won't score as he doesn't score away from home and he isn't big enough or strong enough to hold the ball up.

Game day......apparently we have lost one of our 18 games since the end of January. We play the bottom team today and can go top if Cambridge lose. In January a couple of decent signings and we would at least get to the play offs. 14 wins and 3 draws later worst we could finish was the play-offs.....Now i would be gutted if we dont win the league.............Tinpot season
These type of posts i wouldn’t dream of posting on the morning of a game because they always seem to come and bite you where you hurts, especially this season.

I said a few weeks back the teams fighting to survive would have a say on the promotion party.

So many twists and turns yet and with Cheltenham losing last night and having to go to Stevenage on Tuesday I can see the top 3 going to the wire.

I'd have no problem with Port Vale fielding a weekend team, regardless of who I supported - five or six players desperate to impress and secure a contract are more likely to put in the effort than five or six who are already on the beach.

Feels like it's been a while since we were in L2, although it hasn't been that long.

Shame about Grimsby going down, would have liked to play them again, had a great time up there in NL and huge respect for their fan base after the play off final that season.

Any chance of staying up?

With Cullen I wouldn't bother, he looked really innocuous when he came on and our attacking threat today ended at the point. He is clearly gone so I'd move on from him now to be honest. Be more interested in seeing Will Swan again if he's close to fitness again as would like to see if he'd be someone look at for a season long loan next season.

Another poor performance from us. The second half was slightly better than the first, but still not good enough to give me any hope for the remaining games. Our recent form of one win in ten matches and no victories in the last seven, is unacceptable.

As Hill is almost certain to depart in the summer, I would like Palios to get rid now and let Ian Dawes take charge for the remaining games, to at least try and generate some spark and confidence going into the play off games. However, that seems unlikely.

It is crazy that we have been woeful for six weeks, yet still technically have a chance of automatic promotion.

I was unimpressed by Salford in both matches this season. Ian Henderson aside, they were really average, despite all the money they have spent.

Completely agree with you about Salford. When we played there even though we lost really struck me just how ordinary they were. Of any of the promotion contenders which they were at the time thought they were pretty listless to be honest. Suppose us and Mansfield can have a shout for this too but for me given the cash they've thrown around they are the biggest under-achievers this season.
