Sorry, should have clarified. Didn't mean that Tyrion would die Quentyn's death, just that he would be the closest thing to Q's role in the books in looking to ally with Dany.

Quentyn is quite an unimportant character they could have anybody release the dragons.

I'm still disappointed about the absence of young Griff especially if they make trystane important in any way.

What the hell is going on with the Sansa storyline? Enjoyed the rest of it, though.

I think they'll give her the fake Arya storyline

BOOK SPOILERS

What... why? Doesn't Littlefinger have good intentions for Sansa in the books? He basically sees her as a younger version of Cat so why would he give her to the Bolton's? That's like the worst fate possible, apart from death.

He's giving her to the Bolton's so she can exact her revenge on them from within. Then, when Sansa has taken Winterfell for herself, she could form an alliance with Littlefinger who is now Lord of the Vale and who knows where that may lead?[//spoiler]

Ooh, episode three was at a good pace, enjoyed that.

Although I'm still not sure about this Sansa storyline, interesting to see where they go with it. Loving the scenes at the wall now that Stannis is there. That nod after Jon dealt with Slynt. Oh, and lucky Tommen.

Speaking of Tommen being lucky, I swear Natalie Dormer went out of her way to give the lad a massive flash of her funbags as she re-arranged the sheets last episode. I bet he's praying his character doesn't get killed off before he hits 18.

Natalie Dormer is almost double the age of the guy who plays Tommen think she's 33 and he's 17 or something ..... Still lucky

He definitely had to run to the toilet and finish himself off after that scene. She's odd Dormer, like she's strange-looking and that but still it's fairly universally recognised that she's fit as fuck. Something about her, can't work it out, voice and facial expressions maybe.

Yeah I agree that this was the best ep so far, only real complaint were the Dorne scenes, which are pretty terrible and cringeworthy i feel.

Judging by the promo, next episode looks good with the focus on Winterfell, go Reek!

Where is Sansa? I thought she had met with the Bolton's at Moat Cailin, and I don't remember any reference to them moving, but then tonight was she in the crypt under Winterfell?

Were they just passing Moat Cailin in episode three then? Sansa and Baelish rode into it IIRC.

Think they just used it as a shortcut through the marshy shitlands. Brienne and Pod had to go the long way round to avoid being spotted ("But won't we lose track of them" / "I know where they're going")

Nope that's Winterfell, same courtyard from Season 1.

Tame Book 5 ish spoilers
Also it is know that the Bolton's are in Winterfell for book reasons.

The quality seems to have waned since the writers have moved further and further away from the books. I also think we've lost great characters more quickly than we've gained them. Last season had Oberyn and the Queen of Thorns, what does this season have? Some sand snakes we never see? Maybe it'll pick up in the back half but this season just feels more tired than the rest to to me.

It's not that good is it? Glad I never read past the first book, which was rubbish. They peaked when Daenerys "sells" her dragons in the third season.

from season 2
Stannis: Do your knuckle-bones bring you luck?
Davos: My life's been good since you hacked them off your grace, and it's four less finger nails to clean.
Stannis: Fewer.
Davos: Pardon?
Stannis: Four fewer finger nails to clean.

It's not a coincidence that the show is getting worse now that they're deviating from GRRM's writing. I'm still enjoying it at the moment but often find myself finishing each episode and wishing for TWoW.

In my mind this was always going to be the weakest season given that it's based on the two weakest books. Given that things picked up towards the end of the most recent book, I'm hoping this series will be the same.

Having said that, I still think they've dropped a couple of clangers. Having the stupid Missandei/Grey Worm love story instead of something more interesting such as the Greyjoy campaign or the "other" Targaryen story was not a good move and too much of the series feels rushed. Danerys' character seems to be all over the place too, and I don't think it's intentional.

I got the impression that they were foreshadowing her going a bit Targaryen in the membrane.
