This is an incredibly grim day, the party I always voted for has basically had a "Fall of Rome" moment, the likelihood of a split on the Union has drastically increased with a collapse of parties in Scotland and the continuation of a Tory government, despite everything they've done (and will do).

Bloody hell.

It's 1992 all over again in terms of the secret Tories, it seems.

Also looking like the 'UKIP steals Tory votes' is a steaming pile of simplistic shit.

The biggest question I think emerging from this election is: Can the Lib Dems ever recover from what is a total annihilation?

They certainly can't form part of a new coalition, that's for sure. Need to go away, lick their wounds and try to re-establish themselves.

Tricky to see where the Liberal's go really, things seem to be seeing a big shift towards nationalism, I can't see them going anywhere with Clegg, if they remove him I know I will certainly be going back to Lib Dems personally.

This is just getting worse, but I'm gonna have to turn in as it turns out I'm in Manchester tomorrow morning. No idea how I'm gonna sleep (without night terrors) though. Just what the hell.

Any positives? I suppose at least with a Tory government this term it's less likely that a weak Labour will collapse in 2020 while Boris flies through on a landslide riding a chinless dragon in his neon onesie.

UUP gain South Antrim from DUP. Didn't see that coming at all.

At long last the UUP recovering from the post-GFA disaster?

Btw I've got a confession to make - saw a couple of Lib Dem placards on the way to the vote, was a bit of a queue at the polling station, the urge to try to topple a Tory was too great to resist (obvz wasn't really going to happen) so I voted Lib Dem rather than Green.

Such a fickle, indecisive bastard. I must literally be the only shy LD in the country...

Francis Maude slagging off the Labour performance in Scotland is a bit rich. The Tories were almost wiped out a generation earlier!

Put the dead kennedys on and try and block out the sense of doom .

I had the stream in a different tab and couldn't believe that the voice of Mhairi Black belonged to a woman.

This is my main contribution so far.

TBF, you could put a SNP rosette on a log and it'd win up there now.
Yeah, was going to say that this proves that Scots will vote for anyone so long as they are in the SNP.

Said at the start of the night Lib Dems would be down to single figures and UKIP wouldn't win a seat, prediction looking good so far.

After hearing that young girl talk I kind of wish I could vote for the SNP.
