We're looking a lot more solid this year, and Smith gives us a chance of a goal against the run of play. Tactically we look a lot more organised, even if we've gone a bit more direct than before. We've only beaten two fairly mediocre teams in Preston and Sheff Weds, neither of whom will trouble the top 6 - so not getting over excited by it. Big test this week away at Fulham and a stuttering Middlesborough. Anything more than a point from those two would be great.

Good win for us - Joao and Puscas looked excellent up front, Ejaria and Swift with their usual intricate play in behind. Play like that all season and we won't be staring relegation in the face once again.

Only judging this from the goal highlights but where the hell was the Cardiff left sided defence this morning

If it makes the new fellas feel better,we were dreadful but still won 2-0.
We did warn you about this league, it's brutal, welcome to the Championship! It's a higher standard and the smallest mistake generally gets punished. By the same token, you have to take your opportunities when you get them.
You'll get used to it.

I heard that we played well. I haven't seen the game or goals yet but I will check out the highlights later. A lot of QPR fans are calling for Lumley to get dropped because of the goal and his shit kicking.

City looked pretty ordinary Saturday I thought.

Great goal from Nagy to break the deadlock but up until that point it was QPR that looked the better side. Admittedly, you didn't offer much threat after but some encouraging signs for you I'd suggest.

You can tell City look a completely new and bodged together side, our pre-season has basically gone out of the window with player sales and injuries so it's a bit of a makeshift side at the moment. New signings look very good but the team isn't quite in tune yet.

The goal wasn't Lumley's fault either, he cocked the kick up a bit but the throw in was absolute suicide.

You did play well before the first goal Matt but didn't really look like scoring. Lots of possession in areas where it didn't hurt. Your 2 wingers looked decent too.
The second goal was a total balls up in all honesty. All I can think was the thrower expected his fellow defender to head it back to Lumley but he totally missed the ball meaning Lumley couldn't use his hands. Once the defender missed it, Lumley was in all sorts of trouble with Andi Weimann all over him. I think it's a bit harsh to blame the keeper although his sliced clearance let us in. Personally, I think it was a crazy thing to try in the first place and both the thrower and the missed header were more to blame.
As JJH said, we weren't good at all but that 2nd goal killed the game.

Yeah I thought QPR looked like a tidy outfit. If they had a mobile forward on in the first half, they would have gone into half time 1 or 2 up quite comfortably.

The mistake for the second goal just killed them off.

Luton at Hillsborough tomorrow evening, good chance to bounce back from the loss at Millwall, create as much as we did the other day and we surely have to win. Luton will probably make it tough for us, hoping the extra quality we have carries us through this one, an early goal could be pretty important here. Can see 3 or 4 changes from Saturday, maybe Lee, Fletcher and Hutchinson could be rested, with Bannan coming back in for Murphy. Going for a 2-0 home win, Lee and Rhodes with the goals.

Westwood

Iorfa
Lees
Borner
Palmer

Lee
Luongo
Bannan

Harris
Rhodes
Reach

Subs- Dawson, Odubajo, Bates, Hutchinson, Forestieri, Murphy, Fletcher

Leeds away for us, Pontus’ return. Not feeling too confident at the moment for this one - defensively we’ve been much better than previous seasons, but in midfield in particular we look pretty disjointed - lots of new players coming in at once will do that, and Leeds will pick us apart a little bit.

I’d like it if we try a 4-3-3 like below but more likely it’ll be a very similar team to the weekend.

Raya

Dalsgaard - Jeanvier - Jansson - Henry

Norgaard - Jensen - Mokotjo

Mbeumo - Watkins - Canos

Subs: Daniels - Racic - Thompson - Dasilva - Marcondes - Benrahma - Forss

Derby away tomorrow.

Second toughest test we'll have faced yet, think tomorrow night will be the game that Cocu starts their best side (Marriott and Bielik in) and they could give us a bit of a pasting.

Our team looks bodged together completely playing 3 at the back with a central midfielder at LWB, but the new signings particularly look good individually, work to be done as a unit however.

Bentley
Moore Kalas Baker
Hunt Nagy Brownhill Rowe
Palmer
Diedhiou Weimann

Diedhiou for Benik the only change I'd make as Diedhiou's a proper handful away from home.

2-0. (Huddlestone 26', Waghorn 49')

yeah I also had Tommy Robinson blocked before Twitter suspended his account. I follow a lot of football fans and as we know they’re not notoriously the brightest collective group of people so a lot of his drivel made it onto my timeline.

I try with Android and it doesnt work. Will cast the phone image except the video window, so before you go full screen it shows the surrounding phone screen but video is blank. May not be meaningful for ios platform but if it happens will give you a heads up cos it had me scratching mine for a while

I’ve just tried all cast from my Samsung tablet with a highlight video and it worked great so I think that’ll do the job.
