We don't have enough about us to force a game at this level. We look much better when level/ahead and able to counter into space. As soon as we go a goal down we really struggle to build any kind of forward momentum.

Totally agree with this. It’s neat and tidy but not looking all that threatening and when we do get in those positions we look tentative. Looked a bit better when a Shinnie is driving at defences a la some of his play from last year but easy enough for Wednesday to see this out. Which all rather reiterates why we absolutely cannot afford to give away dumb goals like we continually have this season.

Not sure what we are doing with Collins so far this season either, no service to him at all really and we are asking him to link play a lot. We’ve done all that before and worked out he isn’t that sort of striker

They haven't scored. It's that simple.

Luton, for all their first half endeavours, weren't worth a result on second half showing.

We’re in trouble.

I’m not really sure what our second half gameplan was either, again just like it was v WBA.

Agree with this, thought we fell apart a little bit after the goal and dont think your keeper actually made a save bar the Shinnie shot from 25 yards.

Blinding win for us and much more like us during the first half. We're getting back to ourselves.

Couple of observations about Hillsborough - why have you allowed your chairman to put his name in great white letters across the seats?

And why have you put the Luton fans in one tiny block? Expecting around 800 tonight.

Because he owns the club, no one tells me how I can or can't decorate my living room.

Great win tonight for Rovers. After a dodgy start to the season we are starting to look like a decent team now.Luckily for us we dont have VAR in the Championship or the goal would probably have been ruled out for offside or foul on the keeper but it isn't so happy days.

I was sceptical when we signed Downing but hes been excellent so far and his combination with Cunningham on the left is going to cause teams plenty of problems this season.

Great result.

Nathan Baker back to his best, how we’ve missed him.

Guy with the Fellaini head was decent.

We're miles away from where we need to be but probably expected considering the circumstances. Plenty of time to improve.

It’s going to be a long season. Massive two games coming up. Over 8 million spent and no assets sold for decent money, but at the end of the day players like Reece James are irreplaceable.

Lowe looks mint though, once he scores his first goal, he’ll hopefully fly. Moore looks good as well but worryingly went off injured. Boro are awful, which makes it even more shite that they beat us.

Cant complain. Wednesday are bang average for this League Im guessing, but while we look pretty on the eye we have no final product or cutting edge and are a mistake at the back waiting to happen.

They were good value and punished our naievety second half and could have been worse. I do think we will come better but worry about confidence, as momentum has def been slapped out of us.

We were definitely poor yesterday but still won, played better at Millwall and lost, that's football.

We missed Kieran Lee in the middle last night, Reach just cannot do the same job as him sadly.

We play like that at Preston we get nowt though.

Always the same with these plucky teams coming up from League One and I include BC of 15/16 vintage. Think they are gonna cause damage in the Championship due to smashing League One, might even dominate games up here, but end up being picked off easily by the big boys. You’d have thought at least the Barnsley fans would have learnt that by now the amount of times they’ve done it.

That's Han Noah Massengo, he's just 18 too Luke. That's the lad we've signed from AS Monaco, looks a good player already.
We're definitely improving and when you consider a few of our players have only been at the club less than 2 weeks, we're doing okay.

We have Swansea at home tonight. I am expecting a couple of changes from the defeat to Bristol City. We have been playing well this year so another good performance and I think we will win this one.

That's both our away games where we've had 64% possession and done precisely nothing of note with it. Getting a bit worried - Blues barely turned up themselves yet still deserved to win courtesy of our dicking around at the back again. I get the feeling they're going to be hard to beat at home and poor away - I think I'd take that for us as well provided it gets us to safety. This is what happens when you once again sell your better players coming into a championship season and replace them with youngsters rather than a couple of experienced, older heads.

You'll find yourself saying that a lot this season (as will we). There are many "bang average" teams in the championship who will turn up, not do much and be happy to let you have the majority of possession, wait for you to make a mistake and inevitably score from it where League 1 sides probably wouldn't. You'll come away thinking if only you'd taken the chances you'd created and not gifted them the one which won them the game without really having to get into second gear. It's frustrating beyond belief but unfortunately that's the difference between the two divisions - the run of the mill Championship sides are much more clinical than even the better league 1 teams.

I'm far from worried at this very early stage.

Last night was awful but in both the home games I've seen we've played fine. We look good going forward but the defence needs to improve and learn when it's better to just boot the fucking ball up the field rather than trying to pass it about at the back all the time. It's costing us too many sloppy goals. I get that Stendel likes to play a certain way (and I love to watch it) but he needs to get ugly now and again if we're going to be competitive at this level.

There were some questionable selections last night for me. Conor Chaplin is too small to be playing centre forward on his own for starters and played much better when Schmidt was introduced and he went more wide and Mamadou Thiam (as much as I love him) is a bench player in the Championship at best. I do wonder if he made that team selection with one eye on the three points this coming Saturday.

Some of our fans need to calm down a bit. Some of the overreactions I've been reading have been cringeworthy. Give the team time to settle, with the exception of the central midfield and Woodrow it's pretty much a new squad.

No point pissing your knicks at all right now, think we were in the bottom three in October when we came up but ended up in 11th.

As long as you're not adrift by January then there's always a chance of a top half finish with a half decent run, absolutely daft league. At the same time you can be pushing for the play-offs at Christmas and end up 18th.

Reckon you've got to aim for 33 points from home games and 17 away to stay up if you're a newly promoted side.

This sounds exactly like where we are right now, even down to the sloppy goals.

Beat Barnsley 2 zip, strange game first half was turgid, no tempo, stepped it up second half and deserved the win. Can't help feel if Barnsley had have been more positive and cut the time wasting they could have got something out the game.

Still a win is a win and we will take it. We are,I think rather unfairly, being panned publicly, the likes of Prutton and his predictions have us to lose every week, we are trying to stop being so s-house and play some football, its a work in progress and we have to be patient. I expect mid table this season.
