Or just finish in the top half and get automatic promotion the season after on a bottom 8 budget. Easy pal
Bottom 8 budget, what did you pay Madine and Hogan in? Rides on Evie? Suppose Egan, Henderson etc were all pennies.

Good result last night, not the best performance but feels better playing shit and winning 1-0 than playing well and losing 1-0 like at Millwall. Loads of people saying it's an easy start but the last few seasons we've played teams in the first 3 games who've got no where near the top 6 and come out with 3 points from the first 4, winning breeds confidence but we will have to up the performance levels at Preston on Saturday. I think Adam Reach is one of our best players but he's struggling in the midfield 3, I'd push him back into a wing position and bench Murphy on Saturday, Lee or Luongo back in. Positives are Borner looks a great find and Morgan Fox while not being flashy is improving.

Yep he's not great and left back has been a problem area for a while, don't agree that some of the spastics are still booing his name before kick off though.

Wages for 4 months. Think we spent 6 or 7m in 2 seasons on transfers. Wont be far off bottom 8 budget, certainly bottom half. Anyway it worked enjoy being top while you can

Weird team selection for us tonight. No striker on the pitch so presuming it's Barkhuizen on his own up top. Maguire must be injured as not in the squad. Doesn't look good for Stockley if he can't even get a game as the only fit striker.

It says something about your keeper when Declan Rudd looks like the competent one (so far).

Nathan Jones won’t see Christmas with Stoke. In fact, he’ll be lucky to see October.

Stoke dont have the players to play the diamond formation which is the idea and system NJ is totally and utterly wedded too, that much is obvious.

Was puzzled by there summer dealings as a few of them didnt to be his sort of player and critically, the fullbacks certainly do not seem to be. They are playing McClean at left back tonight it looks like. They should have thrown whatever money they had our way in the summer until we agreed to sell JJ and Stacey to them.

At the other key spot in the system the DM role he has Joe Allen who is just not the right type of player. Not sure on the 10 either as I thought Ince was more of a wide player but ive never really seen him play so not sure on that one.

Whoever did the summer recruitment there is as much to blame as Jones, I cant see him having chosen those players himself having seen the type he liked here.

He is probably going to blow his top in the post game interview tonight knowing what he was like here.

Maybe just maybe what he achieved at your club he cannot recreate elsewhere and perhaps he's a one trick pony.

Easy that, don't think we really had to play well at any point.

Two shite pieces of keeping and then punished a bad pass at the back. Didn't even play a recognised striker.

Pearson bossed the midfield, Johnson constantly worried them, Bauer & Davies dominated and Rafferty was comfortable.

Good to see Harrop play well and score, really busy & classy player, hope he fulfills his potential.

No idea whats happened to Ryan Woods for them, anonymous and hooked at half time. Joe Allen is a passenger.

Nathan Jones will be potted soon I think.

Poor performance from us tonight - we’re really missing having a striker. We’ll be better once the team settles, we’re definitely a lot better at the back, but not a great start so far.

Perhaps that may prove to be the case.

Not a huge one for the data analytics stuff but if you look at that information, which to be fair does generally work out over a season, they should be doing a lot better but mistakes - largely of Butland - are costing them very dearly.

He isnt a particularly likeable bloke but hes a good coach I think and has the ability to turn it around, whether he gets the time is another matter entirely.

Hmmm, I saw all that stats about chances created, fewest chances against and stuff but ultimately they're just not very good. Plodders at the back, dodgy keeper, weak midfield, shite bag Mclean at left back, strikers past their best, overpaid pussies like Clucas and Ince.

Jones changed the system three times during the game, looks like a clueless bloke ready for the sack.

He should have stayed at Luton. Idiot.
Was onto a good thing and chased what he thought was a better option. Stoke is in decline and it is going to take longer to turn around.
Nobody gets time these days so he will be gone soon.

Daylight robbery.

Could have been 4 or 5-0 up at half time.

Fuck me, we’re good. Looking forward to this season.
