Keep forgetting Pearson is suspended.

Always a worry.

We have adequate backup, but nobody is anywhere near the level of Pearson.

I'm thinking 1-1 today. Got a feeling it's going to be a tough afternoon.

We are unfortunately not ready to compete at this level. Not all that surprising but reality hitting home for a lot of people now!

Disappointing thing for me is we have replaced a lot of players who got us here and where high on confidence with championship journeymen like Tunnicliffe, Butterfield, McManaman et al without giving those they replaced any chance to prove themselves. Feel like our core group of players have been massively alienated.

Pelly and Shinnie on the bench today are terrible selection choices from Jones. The weird line up has left us looking totally confused. He blamed the players last week perhaps with some reason but this is just down to poor coaching for me, they don’t seem to know what they are supposed to be doing today.

Neither side deserved three points from that, but who cares. Nearly 24 years and 12 games since Charlton last beat us.

Eight points clear of relegation now.

Played very well v Swansea, keeper error gifted them the lead but somehow we snatched the lead in injury only to concede late again for the 3rd time in recent weeks and sit on 1 point from a possible six when 4/6 would have been more representive.

That comment last week about us needing Brown to stay up has come back and bitten him on the arse big time i think - players look shot confidence wise and who can blame them when the manager has basically said youre not good enough. Shocking man management from Jones that for me.

Not a fan of him blaming the players seemingly as well. He need to look at himself, his recruitment has been shite, none of them have actually improved us to my mind and some of them quite the oppsoite (how does Tunnicliffe get picked all the time, let alone over Pelly today?!) and he has alienated a large proportion of the players who got us in the first place - Bradley seemingly the latest.

Judging from his post game interview his plan is to limp through to January with the current group and see what we can get. Great motivational message that is.

Ah well - its only Leeds next... :surr:

5 defeats in 6 games. I’m never a fan of changing the manager based on short term pain, but whatever way you spin it, it is simply not good enough and something needs to fundamentally change.

I’ve never seen Sheehan make a mistake like that for the third. But how many of those ridiculous goals have we conceded now this season?

This and the Notts Forest game last weekend have to be two of the most gutless performances I’ve seen in a long time. They had lost before they even had walked into the ground. No confidence, no intensity. Even going 2-0 down doesn’t increase the pace of the play.

The players look totally confused - formations are chopping and changing like there’s no tomorrow; there are no leaders on the pitch and there doesn’t seem to be a plan in place to actually win us football matches.

Only 2 points off the play offs now - shame about our terrible start, but we seem to have got it together a little earlier this year. Definitely a lot better defensively which was what we needed to challenge.

This bit is the main thing for me. We got here by playing in a very clear manner. Every team we came up against knew we would play 442 diamond and attack from all over. And crucially we recruited the right players to play that way.

Dont think getting rid of him this season will be the right move but he does need sit down and think about how he wants to play, what his vision is for us. At the moment the only fundamental principle we have is we play it short from goal kicks. After that....well youre on your own lads!

Long time since we won a game as easily as that. Thought we played better last Saturday than we did today. Early days but Mark Bowen has made a decent start.

God I fear for us if we don't sack Paul Cook in this international break. He's out of his depth, his team selections are awful and these players are not playing for him. We're somehow still out of the bottom three and have a chance to sort this out before we go to Stoke. The only way we get anything is with a new manager with new ideas.

Lots of defenders jumping with their hands in the air to handball innocuous crosses up at Deepdale. Definitely their year.

Has Westwood turned into Declan Rudd?

Captain Flapjack against Swansea.

Cost us 2 points today
That's 7 pts we've thrown away in the last 10 mins in our last 4 games.
If we can start seeing games out playoffs are a realistic opportunity if not midtable beckons.

No Pearson, No Daniel Johnson and we still took the piss out of the form team in the league.

Im getting giddy.

That was very comfortable yesterday.

Alex Neil is doing a brilliant job, the level of detail he goes into game by game is quality to see. We can change up the way we play so comfortably, direct, counter attack, possession football it doesn't matter we seem to be able to do it and get results doing it.

It's hard not to get excited about what we're watching at the minute, I just hope we can keep it up.

It's the Preston way to balls it up though, much like us.

Hope you break that hoodoo, as much as I dislike Neil.

Opposite to us. We started so well and were playing brilliantly. Now we are struggling a lot and not playing particularly well. We are too slow on the ball and not running in behind enough.

Yet we remain 2 off of the play offs. Breaks come at a good time as we need to sort out of defence. Into November and still not looked like keeping a clean sheet. We made Boro look dangerous.

This is why I'm trying not to get too excited by our position at the minute, we're Preston North End we always fuck it up.

Will Ledson get a retrospective ban for his tackle, or can they not because he was given a yellow?

Haven't seen a replay but it looked a horror tackle, he's a complete prick.

Don't think he can get a retrospective ban if the ref has seen the incident and booked him for it.

I think they can only retrospectively give a ban if the ref says he didn't see it, he got given the yellow so he's got away with one.

If he's been booked he's safe

If he was given a yellow, the ref has seen it and, I believe, that means no retrospective punishment. If the ref hadn't 'seen' it, then retrospective punishments can apply.

Very lucky, sounds like Elphick could be out for months.
