Do think that is likely, from within, or do you think they will go for an external appointment?
Honestly no idea, he became the favourite all I know is that him, Paul Simpson and Paul Trollope had interviews then 2 of those got a second interview. Thought McSheffrey was nailed on but the sudden departure of Morecambe’s coach who worked with Simpson makes me wonder

McSheffrey finally named, I’ve no idea why it took so long to announce him, assistant manager and 2 new coaches also lined up, a head of football to be brought in, a minimum of 4 players lined up, just missing a miracle to get us out of the shite.

It sounds like an underwhelming cheap option but you never know.

When we appointed our fitness coach, Paul Warne, there were some of our supporters up in arms but as he was a bit of a club hero, he was accepted by most fans and given a chance.

Obviously we went down, because of the damage already caused by Stubbs, Redfearn and Jackett, but Tony Stewart stuck by him in the close season and he has turned into a pretty special manager.

Your fans might just have to accept that the damage is already done and prepare for a season in league 2 to be able to move forward.
If he can keep Donny up it will be an incredible acheivement but good luck to him (except against us obviously).

Didn't expect McSheffrey to get it. Important that he brings in some experience as a number two, like Flynn did at Newport when he stepped up.

He’s identified who he would like so just have to wait and see, need 4 experienced players in and the walking wounded back, might just stand a chance then but I’m not hopeful

Paul Cook has spoken about his Ipswich experience. Not too happy about it, obviously.

He's saying he should have walked in the summer when a Performance Dept was foisted on him. Sounds like there was a bit of a difference of opinion.

Also says he would have walked if he knew he'd be judged after 20 games of the season.

"Sacked Manager Not Happy Shock", I know. Still interesting, though.

Yep, Evans had to go but for me the root cause is still here

Couldn’t agree more, the reason the players/Evans haven’t been getting much stick is because the cancer (using his words) is still there

I'm assuming Scally didn't let Evans go to Stevenage because a) he thought Evans would turn it around and/or b) the potential other options were poor and didn't think he could get better?

Which has obviously backfired a bit. Can't think of too many decent candidates out there, even allowing for your league position.

There’s definitely a lack of options around at the moment and I can’t see anyone doing a better job under the current circumstances. I reckon we’ll just give it to someone till the end of the season (probably Neil Smith given that he’s been at a lot of games recently) and see where we are in the summer.

Was almost right, we’ve brought Steve Lovell back on ‘a short term basis’. I’m ok with that, he’s a very decent guy.

We haven’t won for something like 9-10 games and have scored about 4 goals in that time and picked up one point.
The players are/were unhappy and didn’t want to play for the manager.
We are 7 points from safety and look pretty doomed so I would say I can’t see anyone doing a worse job at the moment.

Andy Woodman (Bromley manager and best friend of Gareth Southgate) is now favourite for our job. Although I doubt we’ll appoint anyone where there’s compensation involved.

Seems a great character though if anyone listens to the Undr the Cosh podcasts, my two favourite episodes were with him.

If you're looking at the National League, Scally should be banging on the door at The Shay. Pete Wild has done a great job up there.

I don’t disagree and I’m very sure Wild will get a chance higher up the pyramid sooner rather than later. I’m wondering if the Bromley link is more because of location being about half hour or so away.

And Woodman rejects Gills approach. Not a surprise either
Every chance we might be in the same division next season, if I had a pick of the two it certainly wouldn’t be with us.
