I'd be amazed if Lampard's huge ego would let him even consider a league one team.

Terry would be more likely as it would be a good first manager job for him. Absolutely no guarantees that he's any good though. It's a bit weird that nobody has yet taken a punt on him considering his profile. Maybe the Anton Ferdinand and Wayne Bridge episodes have rightly put people off? Maybe he's just a rubbish coach?

Frank, forget Chelsea and euro footy. Ipswich and league one is where it's at. You'll love it.:2thumb:

Mowbray murmours coming out of Ipswich, reflected in his odds dropping from 50/1 to 5/1 in the last hour; that would be some coo. I imagine we'll offer higher wages than he's on at Blackburn. He does love Ipswich...

Crazy uncertain times!

Surely he doesn't leave a side sat in the top six? Unless he knows Brereton is off.

He's publicly commented several times in the past he'd love to come back and manage Ipswich. His comments in the Ipswich Wembley documentary echo this. I think it's unlikely, but if he's gunna jump ship for anyone it would be us.

Harris reportedly in the building, at 1/2 with bookies who have kept the book open; many have closed it.

Underwhelmed. It's not a marquee signing if true; but if he gets the job done next season I'm all for it.

“If he gets the job done next season I’m all for it.” Does that mean you have given up promotion hopes for this season then?

Neil Harris?

If so he did get Millwall promoted out of L1.

For obvious reasons I can’t stand Neil Harris but he’s not the worst choice of manager in this division.

Reached the play-offs several times including promotion from this league with a club with far lesser resources than Ipswich.

Kept Millwall in The Championship, got Cardiff to the Championship play-offs.

He’s not a “big name” but it’s a solid choice.

Put it this way; Harris or whoever else will have to hit the ground running from the off for us to challenge this season now. I imagine we will need autos form from Christmas to bridge the gap to 6th. Not impossible with our squad; but certainly implausable.

Personally I’d be more than happy with Harris and give him time to get his own squad going, much better than a typical journeyman type or a name in my opinion.

If Neil Harris is the best you can get, you'd have been better off keeping Cook. For me, the best manager you could have got who would be classed as a realistic option would be Alex Neil. However, I understand that his Norwich connections make him a no-go.

Harris was high on our list before we went with the Cowleys. Our fans made it clear that they didn't want him as his style seems too close to Kenny Jackett's? He seems very direct, which is a complete change to how Cook wants to play. May need heavy January transfer activity if the players don't fit Harris's needs.

A Harris appointment doesn't scream as though there's any logical thinking? Cook to Harris is a bit of a polar opposites of styles?

You’ve got to admire Steve Evans.
Any other manager who had been at a a club for three seasons, had his own squad of players, who, by his own admission went for ‘quality over quantity’, has had several loan players who went back to their club having hardly kicked a ball and whose team are close to bottom of the league having lost six on the spin would be under pressure.
Yet Evans has continually spun the line that it is everyone and everything’s fault but his own. He takes no responsibility whatsoever for the mess we are in.
The funny thing is most of our fans seem to buy it.
Weird.

You’re not wrong, but realistically who can you see doing a better job? It’s not for the players lack of effort either, whoever hypothetically came in would have the same squad restrictions as we have now too

I think Ipswich don't know what they fully want and that is a problem. Several of the players signed really don't look like Cook players. So if you had the manager signing players and a DoF type signing different players, how are you going to piece them together in a starting 11?

They either sack Mark Ashton and give a manager full control and see what he can do or bring in a DoF and hire a head coach.

Do the new owners have a football background or are they basically just guessing? As from the outside it looks like there isn't really a plan which is crazy.

Colin wouldn't be a bad choice. He's a lunatic but has got a great CV outside the Prem. Would definitely liven things up on the touchline, obviously.
