They didn't want Manning because he didn't have much experience. Well, McKenna's got a lot more - not.Strange club, linked with loads of old heads then end up with an unproven 35yr old.

Who knows but based on Ipswich's managerial & transfer record, it all seems a bit pot luck.Look at the old heads we’ve had in the past and they’ve achieved nothing. Who creates the links anyway? Is it just random journalists making stuff up that sound potentially correct based on historical managerial appointments?
Never heard of the new guy, seems there’s a lot of good and bad reviews so a case of wait and see.
Time will be the judge of that, I reckon. This was Cook's first sacking since his first managerial appointment at Southport back in 2007. He pretty consistently eventually gets it right wherever he goes. Doesn't look like the new Ipswich owners were prepared to wait however. They done the right thing by getting rid of cook
Not without Richardson he doesn’t.Time will be the judge of that, I reckon. This was Cook's first sacking since his first managerial appointment at Southport back in 2007. Yes, that's a huge elephant in the room for him. First appointment without Richardson and he's failed dismally. Not without Richardson he doesn’t.
KTF
Especially with that squad, it should be pissing this lge really, certainly not floating around mid table at best.Yes, that's a huge elephant in the room for him. First appointment without Richardson and he's failed dismally.
Not wanting to come across as a Paul Cook fanboy, but I think that's harsh. He's generally taken a year or so to get consistent results, with Wigan being the one exception. Personally, I think one more transfer window may have improved things but he wasn't the new owners' choice so really needed a fast start this season.Yes, that's a huge elephant in the room for him. Maybe, but what league one manager wouldn't have given his eye teeth for a transfer window like he had with Ipswich at the beginning of the season? It's league 1 Man Cityesque. Not wanting to come across as a Paul Cook fanboy, but I think that's harsh. Richardson's done very well, admittedly. It's possible they're both pretty good.
The difference between our L1 squad in 2017/19 and Ipswich's L1 squad now is that when Cook joined Latics, we still had a nucleus of players too good for League One when we got relegated (Nick Powell, Dan Burn, Sam Morsy, Nathan Byrne, Michael Jacobs). Cook simply built around those players as his pillars, adding quality around them like Walton, Evans, Dunkley etc. Ipswich however, has been a total rebuild from top to bottom. No pillars to build around, just a bin the lot and start again from scratch job, which always takes a lot longer to click together. Not wanting to come across as a Paul Cook fanboy, but I think that's harsh. Very goodSimpson, eh?
Oh dear. Surely have to do better than that?Interviews started today and suddenly Paul Simpson is favourite
I think if he gets it he will be head coach only with a Director of Football alongside. I know we are looking at a continental approach to managementOh dear. Surely have to do better than that?
Already relegated if that happens, only way we stay up is if the owners spend some money something they haven’t done in yearsLooking at the betting, Doncaster’s only hope of staying up this season lay with Boris and the government.
That’s ok we’ve got a squad full of themHope he's over his illness like but Paul Simpson is one clueless, retarded waste of space.
So presumably he will be at the game. Imagine a lot of people will be trying to identify all sat in the Directors Box.New manager to be announced after tomorrow’s game
True but it could be he’s in charge tomorrow if Gary McSheffrey has been given it.So presumably he will be at the game. Imagine a lot of people will be trying to identify all sat in the Directors Box.
