You've hit the nail on the head. Local lad here and a job for life and I just feel it's too early for him and for Rotherham to take a punt on him.I would too as I understand he is a local lad and maybe would want a better opportunity to move up north.
On the other hand, if a bloke with little experience can double his wages you just never know, I am amazed Warne left a "job for as long as he wants it" (Tony Stewart's own words to me 3months ago) to go to Derby.
He won't last 5 minutes there if he gets off to a bad start and 20,000 start mumping at him instead of a few hundred here.
Never say never but see my post in reply to the Rotherham fan.How so?
Money talks doesn’t it.
And there is little loyalty in football.
Plus it’s bigger club, good facilities and a solid platform to build on.
Stranger things have happened.
Wednesday fan Paul Hurst!Keep your hands off Paul Hurst Rotherham.
It's not his fault, he will have been forced into it by his family like the rest of us.Wednesday fan Paul Hurst!
Rotherham local rag sez Dean Holden, Paul Hurst and Mark Bonner are likely options.

To be fair were it not for the fact that he’s got a young family settled darn Sarf, I would say the Rotherham job would be a decent one for him - a patient, non-trigger happy board and a reasonably tolerant fanbase (ie not one with a Billy Big Bollocks mentality like, say, Sunderland) which is bigger than ours, and therefore I guess a bigger budget comes with that.I'd think with Gareth it would take something really special for him to even consider going elsewhere so don't think it was ever likely he'd be in the running for this.
Apparently Karl Robinson is being/has been considered.
If he is, he'd be completely out of his depth. League One mid-table/upper mid-table is about his level. Presently he's even falling short of that.
You never met SERAWA?To be fair were it not for the fact that he’s got a young family settled darn Sarf, I would say the Rotherham job would be a decent one for him - a patient, non-trigger happy board and a reasonably tolerant fanbase (ie not one with a Billy Big Bollocks mentality like, say, Sunderland) which is bigger than ours, and therefore I guess a bigger budget comes with that.
Sadly not, guess I missed out?You never met SERAWA?
Billy big bollocks mentality my arse. We have put up with some shit over the years. To be fair were it not for the fact that he’s got a young family settled darn Sarf, I would say the Rotherham job would be a decent one for him - a patient, non-trigger happy board and a reasonably tolerant fanbase (ie not one with a Billy Big Bollocks mentality like, say, Sunderland) which is bigger than ours, and therefore I guess a bigger budget comes with that.

I never realised Warne left Rotherham till seeing this thread. He was doing a marvellous job. I personally think he will get Derby up in time but not this season. I could be wrong though.
That’s a good question. They will need to buy into his methods. I remember our preview for the game between us and the rotherham bloke giving his insight basically said he has the squad ultra fit and anyone who isn’t fit gets shipped out. Let’s see how he adapts to Derby. The question being, if he doesn't get them promoted this season, will he still be there to try next year?
He has always taken us back up the year after relegation but he had a team that he chose, on their way up, young-ish, in top condition willing to run their nuts off for him.
Will Derby's older players, even be capable of his demands, even if they are willing to try?

I personally can’t believe he left when he is doing a good job with you. However life goes on. Alex Neil fucked off and we couldn’t believe it but Mowbrays been good so far so let’s see how it pans out.Our successes during Warne's almost 6 years in charge were based mainly on team spirit and work ethic.
As time has gone by the recruitment team have brought in better players season on season and we now have some really good players,
However we still remain behind other championship teams in terms of ability and that has to be supplimented by sheer graft.
It's no coincidence that our bad results tend to be midweek when the players are still knackered from their efforts the previous weekend.
We can get away with it to an extent in league 1 but not in the Championship.
He will have players of considerable ability at Derby but it remains to be seen if they will buy into his ideas.
Some of them will get a shock especially next pre-season, if he lasts that long.
Nice pay off for him, and his rep wont be affected as Watford are only 1 point from the play offs with only 2 defeats. Watford are the new Leeds, total joke.Watford have binned Edwards off already. You have to laugh really.

Most of our fans don’t seem that fused he has gone tbh..Nice pay off for him, and his rep wont be affected as Watford are only 1 point from the play offs with only 2 defeats. Watford are the new Leeds, total joke.
Apparently the Watford fans were singing "He came from Forest Green, he'll be gone by Halloween"Watford management eras are like dog years. 11 games is the equivalent of a season and a half at most other clubs. With that logic, he had to go really.
Particularly as we had won just 3 games and one in 8/9.Watford management eras are like dog years. 11 games is the equivalent of a season and a half at most other clubs. With that logic, he had to go really.
Still can’t get my head round the fact neill left yous for them. Baffling. He will be gone in a year, they get rid of managers all the time. What a prick.I personally can’t believe he left when he is doing a good job with you. However life goes on. Alex Neil fucked off and we couldn’t believe it but Mowbrays been good so far so let’s see how it pans out.
Have to say whilst people are fed up of the constant changing of managers - mainly due to the fact it brings bad PR and shows we don’t really know what sort of manager we want there isn’t exactly annoyance or anger that Edward has gone.Apparently the Watford fans were singing "He came from Forest Green, he'll be gone by Halloween"
I wonder if the people who have been going short on the pound had a double on Edwards...if they did they would be quids in today.
