Was the team made worse when JET played? No. I'd argue that we even played far better and he should have been used much more.
Flipside of what you've just said about Smith then, would JET have got as much recognition if Smith weren't there to bang in the goals alongside him?

Yes, JET has always got recognition when he has played, with or without Smith. He brought out the best in Baldock too.

Well, football is a game of opinions. I'm going to respectfully disagree with you on JET.

And I'd argue as good a partnership as Smith and JET were for us, we were much more direct during that period and actually played better football with Agard and Wilbs up top.

But I'm not saying JET wouldn't have done well if he'd have started more. He performed whenever he was called upon. But after the season we've had, you can't say it was a mistake either.

I've obviously not seen him as much as you lot have, I think I've seen him play at least 15 times though. Against us a few times, and several times for Blackpool and Ipswich. I have not seen him once have a good game and he struck me as lazy and disappointing.

Similar to Gallagher for us, 95% of the time he's a waste of a shirt but then he will produce moments of magic which change games. It's a lot easier to only remember the moments of magic.

Rest assured, anyone who does sign him will have multiple-page threads on their forum every week endlessly debating him.

Any club who gets him is lucky. Gutted he has gone and would much prefer him to Agard/Wilbraham next season.

This reminds me of when we played Swindon away a couple of years ago. Di Canio had just been sacked and after the game the local radio was hilarious. They were all ringing in and telling stories about him as if he had died. One guy actually started crying. It was incredible.

And yet we strangely kept winning, what is it 14 or 15 for Agard? With a spell out on the sidelines, hardly poor and fits our team style of play better.

Yeah, Agard on the whole has been good. After being initially one of his biggest fans I did however lose faith him him when he scored 3 goals in 27 games, one goal of which was against Tamworth. I questioned why he was in the team after Oldham away where he was absolutely shocking in fairness, and at this time could not understand how he was getting in ahead of JET. Luckily Agard ended the final 6 games very strongly, starting with his goal vs Swindon. I do however feel he is limited as a footballer and will struggle somewhat to make the step up to the Championship, something I feel JET would have no problems doing.

I feel like crying at the though of Jay Emmanuel-Thomas going for absolutely nothing to be honest.

It's ok, we're going to replace him with Nicky Maynard.. :)

He's coming out of his five year retirement especially for us. Just don't mention his son's Welsh accent, he's a bit embarrassed about it.

I felt shit when we sold Baldock - but with the circumstances, 2m and we'd just signed Agard - I could get over it.

But JET - no replacement as yet, and no money.

I need a tissue or two..

If Freeman went now, I'd actually pour my heart out.

I'd be gutted about Freeman leaving however we'd get a very good wedge for him, it would take a serious offer for us to even think of selling him.

Imagine how you're going to feel when his replacement is Simon Church...

He obviously has bags of ability, but he appears to be a very frustrating player whenever I've watched him.

His penalties, like the one against Walsall on Sunday, are very annoying though!

Obviously I can see why supporters are gutted as on his day can be fantastic.
Well my view on it is this - I trust Cotterill knows what he is doing he won us the league and JPT and surely must have a couple of strikers lined up.
Good luck to JET hope he is successful elsewhere but this is Football and sometimes you have to be ruthless which at times this club has lacked.
Exciting times ahead in my opinion.
