we now have Gerrard so not as big a blow as it could have been. Looks like young edmunson will be thrown in at centre half. Been on loan in the conference and has had premier league scouts watching him.

As I said yesterday these low value release clauses are sometimes the only way lower clubs can get their best players (who know they will have bigger clubs sniffing around them) to sign contracts

Yeah he looks very far over the hill unfortunately. Still works his nuts off but lost most of his pace, consequently has next to zero goal threat as he is usually behind the play and never seems to arrive in the box in time (and no chance of him getting in behind defences these days either). 2 goals from open play for us says it all (and even one of those was a thirty yard worldie rather than a real striker's goal if you know what I mean).
