Another signing made by us tonight - Niall Ennis (striker) joins on loan from Wolves for the season. Don't know anything about him but Wolves fans seem to rate him highly so that's a good sign.

That's our 5th loan signing now, still need a LB and CB so they'll need to be permanent signings.

Ex Newcastle and Wolves CB Mike Williamson signs on a 1 year deal. Been with us through pre-season so was always expected. A decent bit of experience to play alongside Curtis Nelson who has been made captain now Lunny has gone.

Was our best CB last season and most Wolves fans wanted him to stay (before we signed a load of Portugese players). If he can get over his injury problems he will be a very good signing for you

Yeah, Ennis is highly rated down here. He was close to making the first team before he broke his ankle last year. A prolific goalscorer for our academy and the England youth sides.

Ripley isn't happening for us now. 3 or 4 bigger clubs in for him.

Championship clubs?

I'm hoping 'Boro wouldn't loan him to a Champ side and we're one of those interested. We are absolutely desperate for a goalkeeper.

I already think you'll be playoff material so if you ended up signing him Im convinced you'll go up automatically.

Be surprised if our City rivals aren't looking at him now that their number 1 is injured.

Edit- ignore this just seen they've signed Blackman from Chelsea.

Max Power and Omar Bogle have been removed from the first team squad and told by Paul Cook that they won't play for the club again until the transfer window closes. Both have said when spoken to by the manager that should a Championship club come in for them then they would want to leave. I'll happily drive Power to any Championship club willing to take him. Bogle would be a loss though.

Bit twattish of Bogle.

Must have known there was a good chance he would be in League One this year when he signed for the club that gave him his chance in the Championship. Not like he set the league alight and scored the goals to keep you up either.

Indeed, he seems like that kind of character though. Very ambitious and a bit of a tosser. Power less so but thinks he's a lot better than what he is.

We've signed Aaron Tshibola on loan from Aston Villa, another 6" plus player who I'm guessing is our replacement for Ben Reeves.

What's happening with that little dweeb?

He's hanging around waiting for an offer that isn't going to come. I'm annoyed that Robinson has left a contract offer open to him after spending all summer bleating on about only wanting 'players that want to play for Charlton'. Reeves clearly only does if nothing better comes along.

He's wasted a whole pre-season and is looking at going into the new season clubless.

The problem is that the same thing could be said about too many of our squad now! I think our physio is going to be asking for a raise by Christmas.

Ps always thought you were a Wycombe fan. Hey ho.

Last I heard he wanted to stay, but Pete Winkelman was thoroughly pissed off at him. Reeves wanted more money but Winkelman wouldn't budge. Seems he wants to stay local too, as his Mrs has a good job at the hospital or something.

Fair enough. Read somewhere that he had a 'lucrative offer' from abroad but I'm not having that one, just sounds like agent talk to me.

Wouldn't be surprised to see him sign for one of us next week then based on what you've just said. He'll sign for you if Winkleman caves and gives him what he wants and for us if he doesn't.

As I said before, we've just signed who I presume to be Reeves' replacement in Aaron Tshibola, so I highly doubt we'll be in for Reeves. Wouldn't want him now anyway, not after he's messed us about and hasn't even started 50% of the games since he's been at the club.
Put it this way, when I spoke to Winkelman at the Newport Pagnell friendly, he was surprised Reeves' playing percentage was as high as it was, and it is only something like 46%

Pretty sure Reeves will end up at a Championship club, either Burton, Bolton or Sheffield United. All have been linked with him to varying degrees before. If he's going to be offered Championship football, can't see why he would stay in L1 unless Charlton offer massive wages.

I'd still like him to stay, but with some of the signings we've made, like Tshibola today, the impact of his absence will be less and less.

Still probably the best striker of the ball outside the penalty area in L1 though.

Ricky Holmes says no.

Surely if a Championship side really wanted Reeves, they would have snapped him up by now with him being a free agent.

The fact he hasn't even had a pre-season won't help his cause.

Really? Not saying Ricky Holmes isn't a better player overall, but in terms of goals scored from outside the box, I think Reeves is pretty hard to beat in League 1. He scored 10 goals for us last season, 5 of them were scored from outside the box. Does it every season.

Genuinely think Reeves is undecided. He does have offers, from your lot, and very likely at least one or two Championship clubs. He also has an offer here, and he has shown some interest in staying here (turning up to our PSF to watch the games, talking to our head of recruitment at the game, signing shirts etc).

I'd still rather have Holmes in my squad though.

Holmes scored 13, 8 from outside the box :gr:

Ricky Holmes is one of those annoying players that you love to hate. He regularly gave us the run around during our tussles with Chelmsford City and has been doing so ever since!!

Local you say? Go on then, We'll have him. We can probably afford him as well.

I have always thought Holmes is a little lightweight. Over rated..

Oxford set to sign Jack Payne on loan?

What a signing that will be if its comes off. Amazed he is not at a Champ club.

Certainly looks like it. Makes sense considering we have just sold Lundstram. I'm guessing by your comment he is decent?
