Kane Hemmings to Mansfield. Would this be a good signing for us?

Seen John Welsh linked with Oldham.

He missed most of last season through injury but I think he still has something to offer us, his game time would be limited here though. Would be a good signing for Oldham, sit him in front of the defence and he's a boss of a ball-winner at this level.

One of my favourite PNE players of recent years.
Just what we want.

Apparently signing Lee Evans, Callum Elder and Ivan Toney all on loan. Meh.

Peterborough's chairman has done an interview with local media saying a L1 club has enquired about Marcus Maddison, made him "their top target" and "will be back once they've sold a couple of players". I'd say it's almost certain that it's either us or Blackburn.

The DW wouldn't be big enough to handle the egos of Nick Powell and Marcus Maddison in the same team. It'd be fun to watch though.

He's our most creative player and got the most assists for us last year. Good player but is rather full of himself.

3 decent signings at this level you would think.

Where have you seen/heard this, Stoney?

Tore the SPL up the season before last. He actually scored a surprising number of goals last season (surprising because most went under the radar having scored most in cup competitions). His league tally is disappointing and if truth be told, he could score 20 this season or two.

We paid £250k for the guy, so you'd hope he'd come good!

Elder brings much needed LB competition. Evans replaces Power and Toney replaces Bogle. Decent, maybe but good enough for a side chasing top two I'm not so sure. Hate multiple loans as well as they can always bite you in the arse.

I could see us going in for Bogle, if Hugill moves this week.

Wasn't impressed by him when we played last season but for £800k he would be a decent gamble in today's market, possibly throw in Paul Cook's bum chum, Eoin Doyle as well.

Ivan Toney isn’t meh at all. He was absolute clsss for us last season on loan and I really want us to get him back. Would be gutted if he went to you.

I'm surprised Toney is being loaned out to a L1 club. I would have thought Newcastle would be loaning him to the Championship. Not sure giving him another season in L1 is going to do anything for him. He appeared capable of playing at a higher level when he was with us last season.

No surprise Evans is back in L1 - one day he'll be Championship standard but when we had him two years ago he was too much about over hit Hollywood passes and risky heavy tackles. His set pieces are good but there's a lot of room for improvement, should bag a few too.

Interesting because Evans said you'd be signing a player only if the other club completed a signing. We need a striker and I would accept Hemmings leaving if it means a top class addition.

He's a very intelligent player, he works hard and he displayed decent finishing on occasion. He didn't suit a lone striker role with an AM behind him and ultimately didn't look threatening enough in league games if we want to kick on. Maybe with two wingers and a bigger target man, he would find some form. I'd guess 15-20 L2 goals over a full season.

I shouldn't think we would recoup our full fee at this stage.

Caryol and Sweeney rumours still doing the rounds. I'd love both of them back. Especially Sweeney

Well the Sweeney deal won't happen this week ( if at all ) as he's gone on tour abroad with Stoke.

Rumours of us signing a CB from an SPL side (Or is it SPFL?). Rob Kiernan's name has been thrown around a lot.

It'll be because he'll never make it at Newcastle and they want rid of him for as much money as they can get. A loan deal puts him in the shop window and he's more likely to score goals in L1 which will increase his price if they were to negotiate an agreement for a permanent move in January if it went well as other clubs may show interest. Ditto for Evans and Elder. It's obvious neither will make it at their respective clubs so both deals will be loans with views to permanents should they impress. If they don't impress then they'll go back to their parent clubs and someone lower down the pyramid will take them on.

Doyle link has gone stone cold quiet recently. If Toney happens then we probably don't need him as we'd have enough strikers even without Bogle. However I would not be surprised if we flog Grigg in January when he has 6 months of his contract left. If that happens I can see us coming back in for Doyle if he's still at your place.

We're supposed to be signing a young, fast and hungry striker tomorrow. No idea who it is but Ollie Hawkins name at Daggers doing the rounds as usual.

Good point. If Newcastle is looking to get rid of and not develop Toney, I can see Wigan being a more attractive proposition than us. If you do get Toney, he may surprise your skeptics. He's a very clever player with excellent awareness. He know where the goal is too.

Posh fans, Couple of your fans saying we are in for Nani? Please tell me they're just putting 2 and 2 together because it looks like he maybe off and Evans has signed 3 of your players already?

Never really played for us. West Brom's academy manager said he was as gifted as Berahino but he's struggled here. He was going to go to Port Vale but they sacked Ribeiro and the new manager wasn't as keen.

We've just signed Idris Kanu from Aldershot. Macanthony has been talking up his usual tripe on twatter this week and then this emerges as our marquee signing. Still think we'll go down.
