Reports circulating that said cousin has turned down our offer of 5p p/w and discounted Bovril as his wage.
It would have taken Pizza for a year unfortunately, we weren't prepared to meet them terms.

I'm glad they piss money up the wall like that on 'proven' players, it allows us to hoover up good, young players from lower divisions who are equally as good.

Sheff Wednesday are a prime example of how not to do it, spent about £35m in the last three years, they're currently 17th and have an average squad age of about 30 so will recoup fuck all on them.

Adam Reach would go for some serious coin.

He cost you serious coin. £5m, rising to £7m? Could see him doubling your £5m but that's about it.

Despite being all but agreed last week, Wigan have come in at the last minute and want Doyle from Preston.

Aside from the fact they’ll be a Championship side next season, it strikes me as an odd move on Doyle’s behalf when Wigan have both Grigg and Vaughan already and (I believe) they play 4-2-3-1?

Money talks though...

It's ok, you'll get him back next year when they realise he's hopeless in the Championship.

Bidding war please, we might get £100k for him.

Surely he's going to be out for a while? Thought someone said March, seems a pointless purchase when Preston are so desperate to get rid you could get him for next to nothing in the Summer. He would have to get match fit again as well.

I’m led to believe he’s back in a fortnight.

We were linked but I think now (without checking) he’s played for Lincoln and Norwich already this season and wouldn’t be able to play for a third side.

Edit: A quick Google confirms, even mentions us - https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.li.../sean-raggetts-norwich-city-debut-1061746.amp
Well spotted. Shame, as we badly need another CB.

Edit: is that rule not based on permanent transfer and not loans? I’m sure there’s been many instances where, for example, Championship club loans a player to L2, then after recall he’s loaned out to L1?

You can do that, but they can only play for 2 teams. If he hadn't of come on for Norwich then he still could have moved elsewhere, as it is he can only go back to Lincoln or stay at Norwich.

We had Jonny Margetts last season then sold him to Scunthorpe, who then tried to loan him to Crewe but couldn't because of that rule. In short, it's play for two teams or register for three i.e. two loan spells away from parent club without playing for them.

Suffice to say we were delighted he got 2 minutes! Unlikely he'll come back here, but better for us now there's only one club he can go to.

Such a spectacular signing that the impact of it has killed this thread for the last 16 hours....

Good player but injuries have done for him.

Be surprised if he stays fit between now and the end of the season, can be a dangerous player if he does though.

Good addition to the squad with some pedigree. Should mean Oldaker can go out on loan and get the game time he desperately needs. A National League side should be the right level for him at the moment, but without games he'll stagnate.
