The rule isn't that you can't spend more than you bring in otherwise 3/4 of the clubs in the top 4 leagues would be facing sanctions. The rule's that you can't lose more than 39m over a three year period and there's no chance they're close to that, they've sold off Marriott and Washington for a combined 8m in that period alone.

Even if so, they could just cash in on an asset like Maddison or Dembele to balance the books. They look pretty well set from the outside looking in, I'd be including them in my ante post promotion bets if they weren't managed by Ferguson.

As far as I'm aware that's how it works, the same as the Championship.

We don’t spend above 60% of our turnover so will never fall foul of ffp under our current ownership.

Yes it is a cap but the only restriction that’s in place. There isn’t a wage cap, certainly not in League 1

Yes there is. It falls under SCMP (Salary Cost Management Protocol).

It's 60% in L1 and 55% in L2.

EDIT - Unless you're referring to a wage cap being the maximum amount a single player can earn, which there isn't.

Around about 2.5 to 3 mil per season which for us means we most likely will not be around to start the season. No manager, no staff, only players still here not paid and by rights could walk for free. The owner recorded saying he's a bear and rip the fans fucking heads off.

Selling him is good business for us, whether it is good business for the team buying him I am not so sure. He is a bit of enigma, there is clearly a goalscorer in there, but his control is awful. Last year I saw a short pass to him outside the box, which went straight to his feet and then rolled up his body and came off his head and went backwards. This was fairly typical. Yet, he did score some very good goals, mostly at home. And, he frequently got a brace once he got one. It struck me that if he had no time to think he was great, but he missed loads of chances when he had time to run on and think. He has scored a fair few once, and so he could do it again. My feeling is that if he had half decent control of the ball he would play in the premier league. But he does not. Worth a punt for someone.

Not a new signing, but Ollie Rathbone has re-signed on a 3 year deal. Now 22, he's played 100 games and scored 9 goals from midfield, after joining (initially on loan) from Manchester United's youth programme.

Chuffed with this - he apparently had offers elsewhere, but seems to like being with us.

Of the out-of-contract players offered new terms last year, he's the first to re-sign and probably the most important...

No idea. Seems reasonable if not outstanding. Does seem that Evans has highlighted our defensive midfield area as a serious weak point with this signing and that of O'Keefe though.

Yea i remember him saying in his introductory press conference that he felt sorry for Zak and Ehmer and the lack of protection they got. I think Reilly and Parrett can start counting the days.

Jamal Lowe has made it clear to us that he wants to leave. Don't think that's any big surprise but maybe the club thought they could hang onto him after the Matt Clarke windfall.

There's a whole bunch of Championship clubs interested in him - Leeds, Cardiff, Wigan and Millwall. Probably talking in the £2.5M to £3M range.

We're still looking at Curtis Tilt I think. Definitely need a good first-team centre-half to partner Downing, with Whatmough not back from injury until Christmas. Honest, but blunder-prone Burgess should really be no more than a back-up.

Very happy with that signing!! Still work to be done, but happy so far with our business.

Good 7/10 each game defender, liable to a mistake or two, always put in a good tackle and head on a stick in the box. He also scored a number of vital goals from set pieces. Not a vocal leader as skipper but it was noticeable when he wasn't playing, when injured or on international duty.

He’s more of a fancy few touches with a decent ping sort of player, never actually saw him enjoy a tackle and was a worse player the further back he was put on the pitch. Was very good last season playing as a number 10 but that didn’t last past September.
