He is now saying its not akinfenwa but a stronger better leagie 1 striker. Anyone about to lose a striker with no ambition but plenty of greed?

Marc McNulty loaned from Reading to Sunderland.

Must admit I was surprised when Reading splashed so much cash on him in the first place. Good lower league striker but never Championship standard IMHO.

Really popular with us and Cov fans though, so not happy to see him at Sunderland. Will probably bang a couple in against us.

Apparently Charlton wanted him too.

We'll be announcing a new signing today - probably a winger. Names in the frame are Mark Marshall and Fred Onyedinma.

Hope it’s Marshall, would be happy to see him get a club.

Didn’t quite work out for him here but a top bloke and professional.

Confirmed as Mark Marshall. No idea on the length of the deal, but would imagine it's just a one-year jobby.

In his addled state he might still think Jay Emmanuel-Thomas is still with us - certainly fits the other criteria.

Well it was Matt Rhead

Wouldn't exactly say he's stronger or better than Akinfenwa, but its still a very good signing for National South.

Mandron is a decent footballer but a terrible goalscorer. His all round game isn't bad and his work ethic is excellent, but he cannot finish. We ended up playing him as a central midfielder at one stage and he did alright there to be fair.

Goodbye Rheady (where's that crying emoji?). I got the heads up it was Matt Rhead at the beginning of the week.

What a player for us, though. In 3 seasons - National League Champion, FA Trophy Semi-Final, FA Cup Quarter Final, L2 PO's, Checkatrade Winner, L2 Winner and Top Scorer. Legendary status around these parts. Even when he was only coming on as a sub, getting him on the pitch if we were struggling just cranked the volume up at SB. Just one of those players whose presence lifts everyone.

Makes sense for all parties, mind. He'll get more football having spent most of last season on the bench (and getting a decent wedge as well as you'd expect, which you can understand hm taking having only turned pro at 27 - 8 years or so ago), we get a fee and free up wages and they get a player who's playing two divisions below where he should be, even at 35. Under-rated by many, and even those outside of the clubs he played who perhaps didn't underrate him will never quite know what a good footballer he is.

But our transfer business so far pointed towards a further tweak of our style of play and on that basis, we've probably naturally come to the end of the road and we've had our use to one another, although I'd have 100% kept him if we were able to i.e. not having to free wages up to pursue other players.

Lincoln without Rhead just won't seem like Lincoln. I feel cheated.

Happy with Mandron coming in. With him, List, Hanlan and Ndjoli we have a fair bit of pace and power in forward areas, although still missing an out and out goalscorer. Another signing due in today, plus probably two more. I'd imagine the three would be a forward, a full back and another wide player.

I get the feeling you've not exactly bought into the whole "Steve Evans is here and we've made some signings and beat Faversham and the Spotters, aren't we great?" schtick.

Same here.

I can’t say I’m endeared at all, but looking at the squad I can’t say we’re any better off than last season under Lovell. I’m fully expecting a tough season and a lower league position than in May.

Rhead is an absolute thug and now playing at his rightful level. Thank god we don't have to play against him this season.

Louis Moult will probably go out on loan from us, think he'd tear it up at this level. Think Luton were sniffing in January though so might end up there. Seems Salford are keen too.

Well Callum Reilly has just left. No idea where, just gone. Perfectly decent midfielder at this level!
