Looks like we are signing veteran Shaun Williams after being released by Millwall. 34 hopefully can be a Michael Doyle esc player.

Looks like we've signed former Rotherham player Shaun MacDonald. Brings some experience into a young squad. Anyone know if he's any good?
Looks like he's had a few injuries and has played a lot at higher levels but not sure I've ever actually seen him play.

Happy with James Bolton. Got experience playing in L1, which is what we lacked big time last season.

Shaun was a model pro here and Warne loves him, he kept him on for last season despite being injured and missing a lot of the "promotion" season 2 years ago because he is so good in the dressing room.

Unfortunately he suffered from injuries again last season and played in less than half our games.

When he does play, he's hard working and an influential leader, I would have given him another year with us being relegated.

Rotherham fans seem to be speaking quite highly of him which is a rare thing for our signings. He seems like a typical Artell signing, an experienced pro who will be good around the club and be an example to our young lads. Was he involved in a promotion for you?

I know it’s a short career but Mullin has gone from a player who probably jumped at the chance of signing for Cambridge, to basically taking the piss out of them by dragging things out for 6 weeks.

We've known since before January that he'd very likely be gone this summer, so plenty of time to find a replacement. I'm not too worried, if he stays great, if not, I'm sure Bonner has a few options he's talking to.

Looks like Lankester from Ipswich is close to signing.

Jack Lankester looks a very tidy footballer but Cook doesn’t fancy him at Ipswich.

Maybe injuries last season and he wants his own squad so understandable. Fee agreed apparently.

Any player that can find the onion bag on a regular basis like Mullin is never going to stay around. Cambridge should take the contract of the table.

You don’t just let a 34 goal striker go like that. He must be giving Bonner signals to keep it open.

Does he go for good money but be a bit part player or stay and hit 20 goals and get a proper move. Decisions decisions.

There’s not a chance in hell he signs.

We are trying to sign Sam Hoskins from Northampton. Scored 8 goals for them in league one last season which isn't bad for a right winger.

Anybody got rid of a holding midfielder this summer? We’ve offered a contract to one today apparently.

Iirc from our games then he is exceptionally moany and screamed a lot when falling over*.

*He isn't unique on the screaming front as Mark Sykes can be heard a fair bit for us.

Anthony Forde played there for us a little bit as he has become a bit of utility player for us after signing as a winger. He hasn't accepted our contract offer afaik and I'd be surprised if he does tbh.

He played about a dozen games or so from recollection , not as much as he would have expected but injuries have a nasty habit of catching up with you the older you get.

If he stays fit, you have a good player.

Do you rate Matthew Olosunde? Think he's coming here.

Rekeem Harper from WBA to finally be confirmed today after the arrival of new boss.

Very happy with that one.

Defender Max Melbourne and winger Zak Elbouzedi have been told they can leave. One year left on their deals and both ended the season on loan in L2 and shouldn't have too much trouble finding suitors.

Trims the squad a little more and gives more room for manoeuvre.

It's rare you get prolific big strikers because most of the time they do the dirty work (Like big Kev Davies) but is this Bakayoko any good at holding the ball up and linking up play to the players operating behind him? Ian Evatt took on Scott Quigley (who is 6'4 like Bakayoko) when he had a bang average goal record and turned him into a 20 goal a season striker so there might be something to work with. One thing is at 25 he's at a good age but he really needs to kick on now with regular football

He started last season like a house on fire but his form tailed off, maybe due to the exhaustion of playing 2 or sometimes 3 games in 8 eight days, trying to catch up with our games lost to Covid.

He has decent dribbling skills and is quick when he gets those long legs moving.
He gets caught out of position occasionally when playing as a right back but he's only young and has plenty of time to improve.

He lost his place as full back to Wes Harding who was our player of the season and played as a winger in front of him more often than not but that didn't really suit him.
He was pretty much ever present in the last promotion season and was very exciting going forward in League 1, the Championship is obviously much tougher.

I think we dropped a clanger not sorting him a new contract a year ago, maybe Warne thought that as we gave him his big chance, he would repay us with a bit of loyalty and re-sign. He forgot that agents don't allow loyalty.

I'm not sure he will be first choice for you straight away but he will improve and playing with better players can only help him.
Good luck to the lad.

I’d heard from someone close to the club that he was looking for houses down here at the end of last season so think work began on getting the deal done quite a while back, guess other clubs being interested and putting in firm offers complicated it a bit.

No-one else was really in the running by the sounds of it.

I imagine he'd be playing as a RWB for us.

5-3-2 seems the preference.
