According to the EFL website Wednesday are not one of the clubs under an embargo any more. Us and Fleetwood are the only two from league one for not meeting conditions under the monitored loan agreement (whatever that might mean).

Edit: also this

Strange that it hasn’t been reported up here Radio Sheffield is usually shit hot on reporting anything Wednesday/Blades related

Now Southampton have had a bid accepted by Blackburn for Adam Armstrong I expect them to come in and bid for Ronan Curtis which is turn will probably see us go in for Charlie Kirk of Crewe

Got to be quick, aren’t there a couple teams already in for Kirk? I was surprised to read the clause in his contract is only 500k.

Sheffield United bid for Kirk confirmed. Can't see him going anywhere in this league now. They'll blow any side in this league out of the water when it comes to wages.

Was only as he was earmarked earlier in the window to replace Curtis if he left. We'd need a couple of new wingers regardless, but it could set a chain of transfers in league one

Last year of his deal anyway so I'm happy with £500K plus the standard 20% sell on we put on all sales.
It’ll be interesting to see how you do now that all those talented young players are moving on from your promotion season. Ng, Pickering, Wintle, and Kirk. I see you’ve still got Lowery.

No doubt you’re in the process of producing some more from your youth team!

Lowery won't play for us again unless he signs a new deal so I expect him to be gone by the 31st. No rational Crewe fan is panicking though. Big year ahead for Will Jaaskelainen, Rio Adebisi, Luke Offord, Oli Finney, Josh Lundstram, Callum Ainley and Owen Dale with Travis Johnson, Billy Sass-Davies, Regan Griffiths and potentially Joe Robbins and Tyreece Onyeka playing supporting roles. As long as we have a manager who gives them a chance, we'll be absolutely fine! Big Charlie Kirk fan but I'll happily take £500K for him. I'm unsure if he can cut it above this level but I sure hope he can.

Tea Towel , we have apparently signed Tolaji Bola from Arsenal but it has to wait until Monday to be announced, no idea why!

I know he was on trial at Wednesday and played in the first few friendlies with good reviews.

Any idea why Moore gave up on him?

He returned early from a loan at Rochdale last season so maybe he doesn't like being away from London or maybe he was poor who knows?

We managed nearly all last season without a left back once Mattock was injured so it seems odd to be getting one with so many questions against him.

Hope he can settle and show us what he can do but it's an odd one.
He wasn't wonderful, but was played as an attacking wing-back in a back four, which may not be his forte. Might be better as orthodox LB, or on the left of a back three, or even CB alongside an experienced and no-nonsense partner.

We got 500k for Grant, although the flp is saying 1.5 million, which is very doubtful.

Former WBA forward Kyle Edwards in on a three year deal. 2 new CB's rumoured to be signing today/tomorrow.

Finally it looks like Downes undergoing a medical at Swansea. Fee rumoured to be 550k.

Does nobody want Kayden Jackson?! We can't seem to shift him. Very little interest & he won't play for us again.

Lowery will sign.

Strange comment about rational thinking, Scott. Our squad is nowhere near complete in terms of signings, we have no idea how good the remaining signings will be (they could be great, they could be shite, who knows?). We also have no idea how good the likes of Lundstram will turn out (you wanted him released just a couple of months ago). We have obviously lost a number of our key players (including Kirk in that), so frankly, we are weaker now than we were at the end of the season. Rationally thinking, we are in for a scrap this year. People need to get their heads around that.

100 % agree. If Artell can keep this squad up, it will be mission complete and probably his biggest success, given the turn around in players. We will also be in a stronger position 12 months from now, given the likes of Adebisi and Lundstram will have had a year behind them.

Coulson is in the building, confirmed.

We've pulled the plug on the Jacobs deal after signing Edwards. Happy with that!

Agree with that, we’re in for a massive struggle this year. Though I don’t think Lowery will sign which is a massive shame, if he doesn’t want to play for us get rid.

I can’t understand people putting their eggs in the Ainley basket. The lads been around for years, he isn’t good enough.

Sounds like we might have hijacked the Morrell Pompey deal.

Portsmouth are not going to be fond of us today.

Was great for us during 19/20 season that got stopped, think he may even have got player of the season, not bad for a loan player.
Regular in the Welsh side too.
