Same deficiencies in the squad are costing us again. Until we can start to control the game in midfield and get some pace into the side, the same things will happen over and over again.

We've got no-one with any real nous in midfield and settle things down when it's frantic and we continually give the ball away and heap pressure on ourselves. We've got no out ball to turn the opposition defence either. These aren't issues that have crept up on us, we've been missing these characteristics from the squad since the PO season. It killed us last season, and it'll kill us this season.

Big four days coming up for us in the transfer market.

And Scully was making a point of applauding everyone, he looked like someone who might have played his final game for us.

A mate of mine works with his dad and Scully wants out and won’t sign a new deal.

We've had some ratty advisors stirring up interest in our players this week apparently, probably Joss Windass and Dele-Bashiru the two that are wanted.

Yeah, I don't think he's unhappy in the sense he doesn't like it here, he wants a crack at the Championship and you can't blame him for that. He's 1 in 3 from a wide left position and creates as well so we've both been good for each other.

It'll be the same with Poole and the Championship, too, but there's been a little less noise around him this summer.

That's the model, though, and on the whole we've been good at selling for the last 5 years or so.

Looks like we have won the race for Alex Mighten on loan from Forest.

Rumours that Boro want Josh Windass which could be the stuff Darren Moore was moaning about last night

Rumours that Alex Hartridge is off, based on him not being in the squad yesterday.
Hopefully a load of sloblock but you never know

Being honest, I'm surprised he hasn't gone before now. A very good player.

Would be a loss, particularly as he’s a left sided CB and gives us a nice balance. He’s a proper athlete too and would be a good signing for a bigger club.

Hopefully nothing in it but at least we could command a big fee for him and we do have some decent options defensively.

If they don’t walk the title with the budget and squad they’ll have at their disposal it would be a massive embarrassment really. It’s miles ahead of anyone else.

I'd argue Ipswich have an equally strong squad and budget, Derby have a good first XI too.

Our manager is what worries me, I don't think he has the tools within himself to deliver.

Just a shame we don’t have James Wilson. He’d walk into our side according to some on here.

Was surprised to see a few Sunderland fans last week saying they’d go for Darren Moore as their new manager considering how many of your fans don’t rate him.

Yep, we did well to get him to sign a years extension 18 months ago so we could get an extra year out of him.

Recently done the same with Lewis Montsma as well albeit he's out until November with an ACL so I suspect it's us looking after him as well after a long term injury.

Big week for us now in the window.

Still need one more striker minimum with Wils and Procs injury records and it’s a huge priority. West Ham loanee Odubeko should add some competition.

We are currently involved in the Cole Stockton saga, apparently Vale bid £175k plus add ons and Shrewsbury have put a bid in now on par with that with both set to be rejected, Fleetwoods bid is lower.

Obviously if a big club comes in that’s it for us three, not sure how high we will go, we’ve got the money but we have a model based on value for money and have to see at what point we think that will be exceeded.

We also have a rigid wage structure which we stick too to avoid disharmony and be incentive based over a basic wage so may have to break that.

We will have a few targets though and Harrison came out of nowhere so interesting few days to see who we do get in.

Outgoings I can see one or two going, possibly Chris Hussey who just hasn’t worked out and maybe someone like Dan Jones who hasn’t really had a look in.

Wouldn’t shock me if Harry Charsley goes but would be disappointed as he’s looked decent when played this season.

No prizes for guessing who this is. Had two successful loan spells in L2 with Harrogate so he's one who seems ready to step up a division after playing half of Sunderland's games in L1 in between those loans.

Great signing. I see we have distanced ourselves from Gilbey and Charlton (dont think we want to be messed around late in the window), so looking at other options.

How many loans do we have?
Rushworth, Oakley-Booth, Garrick, Diamond. Any others?

Wonder how many we are looking for over the next few days.

Just those 4 , so 1 left
At least a centre midfield holding player.
Depends on our injuries 8 or 9 out plus Maguire suspended
Right back maybe and cover for Hopper?
Not sure, also depends if we sell Scully and or Poole I guess.

On the Gilbey saga, I noticed some of our fans want Woodyard back, not played at all this season, injured?

I’m not a Shrewsbury fan, but he was great when he was with us (2014-17) - built like a brick shithouse, no-nonsense, and could pop up with the odd goal to boot.

I don’t recall how he played for Shrews against us, but he’s only 29 still, so I’d imagine he’s got a few good years left in him.

I’d say a very good signing at that level, in fact on the Wycombe forum we were literally saying we’d be happy to have him as backup if he’s still a free agent, I thought he’d have been snapped up by now - I think Gills were interested at one point?

We only got rid in the first place because he headbutted one of our more dickhead-centric fans in a car park, who was giving him shit. Fair enough, you can’t go around doing that, but the headbuttee was clearly a nasty little scrote, so gained little sympathy…

He was a very good League 1 centre back when we first signed him a few seasons ago and even won player of the season. However, he came back from a lengthy spell out from injury at the start of last season and he just wasn’t the same. His good days are past him and his attitude isn’t the best. He returned back to the squad very overweight and unfit and carried a very ‘I’m not bothered’ attitude in terms of shifting the weight.

Obviously he’s had no pre season so I dread to think what his weight looks like now. I’d stay clear if I was you as there’s not a chance he’ll last more than 15-20 games.
